  • the short capo effect (or upside down capo)is just what the guy from the band does,I saw them yrs back and was close enough to see his capo so that is the original way to play it

  • Thank you for the instruction. When I listen to the recording though, I think I hear the 6th string tuned down to a D. During the intro, the first time the Dsus is played, the base note is the D on the 4th string and the second time it is an octave lower on the 6th string. Could also use a short capo and get the same results.

  • hi, i have never really tried using the short capo. But yes, you could capo the first 5 strings. That way, when you play the Dsus pattern, you can strum the 6th string as well and it will give you the drop D effect
