Hello. I do have a problem. There is about 1.5 centimeters room on left and right side of my screen and about 1 centimeter on top and under the screen. And the quality of the screen sucks ass.

@tarunmunjalny I have a compaq presario cq71 17 incher. when i run dxdiag it only says nvidia, not what specific model it is. which driver do i need to download from nvidias site?
@JsNilsen You can either search the net and download "hwinfo32.exe". When you run that utility it will tell you what kind of display device you have installed.
Another way is to go to Compaq's website search for your laptop's specification and check out what you have installed in your laptop.
Hi Thank u for the reply.The system is on but screen goes black but not in sleep mode because if I press enter the sleep mode will wake the screen but I press any key it doesn`t happen.So i think there may be some settings in windows 7 may stop.Because a this is a new system the battery should come for more than 5 hrs.
@seeni4u I think your power options are set to hibernate your comptuer. When your screen goes blank to bring it back you have to press the power button. Be careful and don't keep it pressed or it will shut off the computer. If you don't want computer to hibernate then you can change the settings in "Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Power Options" there you will see power plans go to change settings look for an option about hibernate if you dont see it choose "Advance settings".

@seeni4u Its hard to tell what the problem without diagnosing it. But it sounds like your screen is giving up. If you can than try the following it would tell if the problem is with the screen or the video card. First I would try to update the Drivers for the video card. If there is still a problem then I would attach an External Monitor and plug off to see if the same thing happens with extrnl mntr too. If yes then the video card might be faulty else your netbook screen might be faulty.

@vlad4090 dell dimension 3000 has a integrated video card as well. I think its Intel 82865 series card. I don't know if you are using that or Nvidia card. You should first go to Dell's website and find drivers for your system. use your Service Tag on Dell's site.

@vlad4090 DO IT AT YOUR OWN RISK!! Once in BIOS you can seriously mess up your computer if you don't know what you are doing.But if you are comfortable making changes in BIOS then here is what you have to do. Reboot your computer and access BIOS( I think you'll have press F2 to access BIOS). There you should see an option that says video buffer if it is set to 1mb make is 8mb that should take care of your problem. I don't recommend BIOS changes to people who don't know much about computers.

You will need to follow Instructions in this video or my website. Depending upon which Windows 7 you are using. Any Home editions or Starter edition would require registry edit and for other editions you can just follow this video.
@vlad4090 same problem with me i have a intel 82810 graphics controller of 32 mb but when i see it in windows 7 it shows me that it has only 1 byte memory and in windows xp it has 32 mb memory..... and i can't set the resolution more than 640 x 480
@undertakeranshu WARNING!!! Do not do it if you are not comfortable tweaking BIOS. If you are comfortable making changes in BIOS than go in BIOS and look for something like (Video Buffer Size or Video Ram). See what the value is set to and increase it to whatever maximum is allowed. This would take care of your problem and you would be able to set the resolution higher than 640 x 480.
@Thetgangster95 that is the link to the download. Also, the drivers are for XP not VISTA or 7. I use it and its working very well for me. Better than the driver for VISTA/7. USE IT AT YOUR OWN RISK
@tarunmunjalny ok listen to what happened to me.. I don't get wtf I am supozed to do.. first I updates my 9400GT driver, then resoultion went down to 800x600(something like that) then it started saying that recommended is 1440x900 so I did put it, then black screen and it kept saying recommended is 1440x900... like wtf? I ran this on safety mod and came here.
