The Chevy Volt gets 30% worse mpg than the Prius, and costs twice as much. It has a gas generator which creates the same amount of pollution as a normal gas engine. Even if you drive 40 miles or less each day (and thus only use the batteries), you would have to own the car for nearly a decade for it to be cheaper to run than the Prius. As for the Audi A3 TDI, $30,000 isn't expensive at all for a high-end luxury car with an environmentally friendly engine (also more efficient than the Volt)

You are legally retarded if you think the Volt has a nicer interior to an Audi interior. The volt's materials are "acceptable" at best, while Audi is known for having the best interiors on the market. Judging by your username, I can only assume that you are just another blindly ignorant fanboy who doesn't care to acknowledge the facts.

@chevycrazykid Yes, I've sat in a Volt. The center console looks and feels terrible, and the buttons look like an afterthought. Nowhere close to the Audi's near-perfect interior. The Audi is a bit conservative, but it uses the finest materials and they are fit together better than almost everything else on the market.

Unfortunately, both Mercedes and Audi rank in the 30th percentile for reliability, with BMW only slightly ahead in the 40th percentile. Hence the unlimited warranties.

Yes it gets the best MPG, but it is one of the dumbest looking cars on the road. I knew that about the Cayenne, and I don't care. It may just be a luxury SUV with a Porsche badge, but I still love it just the same.

What people in US don't say, the 2.0 L. TDI 140 hp engine, is a must rubbish engine what VW group haves make.

Problems of cylinder head gasket, pump water, stealing driving which breaks, clutch defective, nontight porous cylinder head, flow measures air unreliable. The list is still long many problems which touch this engine.

The maintenance of these engines is 30 to 50% larger than those practised at PSA for an equivalent engine!

My wife's brother have his A4 TDI and goes to garage any week.

and then a small gasoline engine recharges the battery, so the range isnt limited. however, it seems to be a complex, expensive vehicle that no one will buy except for the greenies. if its only to save gas it makes no sense, this things going to cost 40 grand
