Hi DC4916, it is my understanding the song was actually adopted with modifications in a TAA (Trans-Australia Airlines) commercial in the early 1970s. The words were modified to include "the T-jets" (referring to the Boeing 727 and Douglas DC9). TAA was an airline that was popular with Australians and the advertising tapped into the inspirations of Australians to fly rather than drive long distances.
I recall this song being used in the Ansett Airlines tv commercials of the 1980s here in Australia. It is als the only 5th Dimmension song I like. :-)
