  • Goddamn! These guys knew how to write a tune. The bass-vs.-cello middle eight gives me chills. 21st century music is garbage.

  • it's that time again ...

  • Absolultly love the guitar solo at 3:30!!

  • yeah but, is he David Bowies dad then?

  • Brilliant and more relevant now 30 years later

  • True then And today...... Sad how history always repeats itself. Silly humans we are....

  • @eyeinthesky8 It's a sad circular existence history repeating over and over

  • I dunno why but "China Girl" by David Bowie always comes to mind when I hear this song. Kinda has the same vibe. Both fucking awesome songs.

  • Seeing them in Sept. in acoustic theater in Charlotte NC. Should be a bloody good time ! Lyrics as apropos as ever.....go figure !

  • fantastic song ...........

  • Sounds so fresh even today. I love this. Words are so powerful - especially today in Britain,

  • That's the fruit of isolationism.

  • great lyric. it's sick......the price of medicine. richard butler is a brilliant singer songwriter.....there seems to be no rebellion left in rock music....just a bunch of whining artificially "sexy" products......the entire scene that was happening from 1977 until 1985 was wilfully ignored by the radio and the press in North America, so absolutely brilliant bands toured here and played small halls.......Siouxsie, The Furs, Magazine, Bahaus, Gang of Four, Buzzcocks, scores of really bands...

  • awesome!

  • Playing in Glasgow to night!

  • This band had sooo much more to offer than the bubble gum shit from pretty in pink movie. Amazing the Furs never gained huge popularity or visibility in the U.S. TImeless track, excellent rhythm, does not need "shock value" to get the point across

  • saw in lafayette la in 1982 on the strip... this is the deal...real deal....then had dinner with them in 1984 at Radford University with all my boys and girls

  • mary myer

  • Saw this live yesterday in Portugal.. Fucking amazing

  • this song is sooooo timeless......its meaning is so current...

  • President gas is President gas again...

  • If u took The Beatles, David Bowie, & The Sex Pistols... put them in a musical blender u'd get The Psychedelic Furs!!!! They were somewhat popular but should have been mega-popular!!! What a great & talented band!!!

  • His voice sounds a little like David Bowie's.

  • @tomfy1979

they were the new Bowie, just like The Pixies later.

  • @TheCleggfamily yeah i can agree with that

  • this song has a nice bassline maybe its should be slowed down a little

  • dig it, great song. and presidents gas is presidents gas again,

  • Gassssssssssss ... Blue and black diamonds, on everythin from roller-skates... this new generation is so protected... which is a good thing!

  • lol cool song

  • @MrJacobjakey are you janet's bro

  • great singer

  • Oh Yeah, Richard Butler always had the real raspy edge to his voice. They have an awesome bass player, too.

  • This song is awesome live!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Great pumping bass line...gets me charged up! Fantastic tune.

  • I agree - it's a great cross between a campy gay disco track and radical politics. If only the world listened to these guys before Rage Against the Machine...

  • @derkaiserbiber Almost every great song musically follows a great bass line. Check out Sugarloaf "Green eyed lady" for example

  • great album..this was one of their last great ones..early FURS ROCK!!!!

    Peace

  • forgotten how good this is

  • Saw them in Houston in for the Forever Now tour and it was fantastic!! When they performed this song ,during the chorus,Richard would start marching across the stage in a heil Hitler march. IT WAS F-ING AWESOME!!!!The crowd went wild...The entire show was great!!!

  • Very good...president....gas!!!!

  • furs at their best!!!! what a fuckin tune!!!!!!!!!

  • Love this too...especially the solo like guitar part

  • Probably on of my favourite Psychedelic Furs songs.
