great lyric. it's sick......the price of medicine. richard butler is a brilliant singer songwriter.....there seems to be no rebellion left in rock music....just a bunch of whining artificially "sexy" products......the entire scene that was happening from 1977 until 1985 was wilfully ignored by the radio and the press in North America, so absolutely brilliant bands toured here and played small halls.......Siouxsie, The Furs, Magazine, Bahaus, Gang of Four, Buzzcocks, scores of really bands...
Unlimited energy sources are out there! But some very powerfull ppl don't want you and me to be free from energy costs,Go to LT-MAGNET-MOTORdotCOM and get the blueprints for a genuine magnet motor ,Be part of the revolution!
This band had sooo much more to offer than the bubble gum shit from pretty in pink movie. Amazing the Furs never gained huge popularity or visibility in the U.S. TImeless track, excellent rhythm, does not need "shock value" to get the point across
saw in lafayette la in 1982 on the strip... this is the deal...real deal....then had dinner with them in 1984 at Radford University with all my boys and girls
If u took The Beatles, David Bowie, & The Sex Pistols... put them in a musical blender u'd get The Psychedelic Furs!!!! They were somewhat popular but should have been mega-popular!!! What a great & talented band!!!
I agree - it's a great cross between a campy gay disco track and radical politics. If only the world listened to these guys before Rage Against the Machine...
Saw them in Houston in for the Forever Now tour and it was fantastic!! When they performed this song ,during the chorus,Richard would start marching across the stage in a heil Hitler march. IT WAS F-ING AWESOME!!!!The crowd went wild...The entire show was great!!!
Goddamn! These guys knew how to write a tune. The bass-vs.-cello middle eight gives me chills. 21st century music is garbage.

I dunno why but "China Girl" by David Bowie always comes to mind when I hear this song. Kinda has the same vibe. Both fucking awesome songs.

@derkaiserbiber Almost every great song musically follows a great bass line. Check out Sugarloaf "Green eyed lady" for example
