according their home page & wikipedia, it's melodic death metal. Sonic Syndicate has never been even close of punk.

melodic death metal? hmm lol i dont think so. They do have a metal influence yes, his screams though are more from the hardcore side of things though, which is why i said punk, and his clean vocal melodies are pretty reminiscent of some new school punk from around the late 90's early 2000's. If theyre calling themselves melodic death metal then theyre just kidding themselves,they might pass for metalcore, but to me theyre just a melodic hardcore punk band, with some metal influence.

wikipedia's sources arent always reliable, alot of stuff is just referenced straight off the net, and just cuz someone writes something on the net, doesnt mean its true. Music is very subjective though, its just matter of opinion, but i dont feel this is

melodic death metal at all. Go listen to some early inflames, soilwork, early children of bodom, the dusk fall, the absence, at the gates or arch enemy - they are melodic death metal.
