so when u accses the terminal instead of being able to read that information you are inturrupted by an alarm because you dont have the I.D. you need to accses the terminal so you get sent to the civilian section. wich explains why the voice says things like "welcome civilian" and why it says things like "intrusion" and "corruption contained" when the alarm goas off. its just a theory tho.
That is a good theory but if you read any of the terminals(i accessed them over and over to get full messages) Some has dialog between the gravemind/monitor(cant remember havent played in forever) and a user. I doubt the forerunners would store dialog as information. But as for the voices i would say its pretty much a security voice basically like you said, and its backwards

They were not. There is one main theory as to why Humans are significant to the Forerunners. When the forerunners first found humanity, they considered them to be magnificent in the fact that they were so alike their own species. This has led many to believe that Humans were the sheer product of luck; a species nearly identical to another, but yet they had no influence on each other during the species development. Its quite hard for me to explain... Try to google the gaps, please.

@iBusDrvr There are two compeating theorys. The one that is much more obvious is the one timewzrd3 said, humans do seem to be alittle to similar for a coincidence. The one you mention takes ALOT more research to find evidence for, although it is there.
In my opinion humans being ancient forerunners would be a much simpler and cleaner plot then the alternative.

If you read all the messages in the terminals it says how the forruners are destroyed and how chief is created: it says "we must activait the material" but i think its reffering to the halo rings because before that it says "they brought the abominations' mening the flood 'cause it's the forruners talking. At the last terminal it says " and to save another fathers son" witch i think reffers to chief because in the mission cortana in halo3 the gravemind says "a father's sins pasee to his son".

at about 4:12 you can hear "Lineage confirmed" It's more quiet than the other ones, but its there. I think its meant to be just an AI like security voice for the terminals and Bungie just used backward voice clips of what the AI would be saying because it would sound more alien.

so when u accses the terminal instead of being able to read that information you are inturrupted by an alarm because you dont have the I.D. you need to accses the terminal so you get sent to the civilian section. wich explains why the voice says things like "welcome civilian" and why it says things like "intrusion" and "corruption contained" when the alarm goas off. its just a theory tho.

That is a good theory but if you read any of the terminals(i accessed them over and over to get full messages) Some has dialog between the gravemind/monitor(cant remember havent played in forever) and a user. I doubt the forerunners would store dialog as information. But as for the voices i would say its pretty much a security voice basically like you said, and its backwards
