Thank you for the upload, this is more than a boxing DOCU, it is an epic story about 2 men of honor and how people (and the media) deal with tragedy, guilt, and reconciliation. Loved It!
when the announcer asks griffith to look at the replay of the knockout...look at the frantic expression on gil clancy's face...he knew then that paret was finished..sometimes a look on a persons face says a 1000 words...clancy really didnt want to look at it.
these things happen in boxing, this after all these men are lethal weapons. sad but true this is a hard sport. i don't think it was malicious. it was an accident two great champs and one hell of a document.
I'm sorry but I don't believe Griffith at the end when he said he didn't mean to hurt anyone.
He admitted he was fighting with anger over Paret's insults and Griffith can talk about obediently following the instructions of his cornermen. However to carry on punching a man who is being held up only by the ropes and is clearly unconscious shows to me that Griffith wanted to hurt Paret for what he said.
There was no intention to kill but there was to hurt and Griffith has to live with that.
WOW! This is some compeling stuff! I never knew that Emile Griffith was gay. No matter. Human spirit can triumph over any obstacle that one may face. Personally, I don't care. Emile Griffith was a great fighter and is a great man. Man, I cried my eyes out at the end of this documentary. It's the storys that make boxing such a great sport. Thank you for sharing this documentary. I loved it!
@wowmanzana I'm here at work, thinking I'll be okay, and I burst into tears at the end. Two grown men crying and hugging...that's something you don't see too often.

Wiki Jimmy Breslin, He's the guy in the blue shirt. this Doc. would have been so much better without him. What an Idiot!
