  • @jakeyz333 is like "uchi mata" in judo. In spanish is "Santo" ("Saint") and in turkish is "Shangá". I dont know its english name.

  • @jakeyz333 i thought it was like a japanese arm throw

  • @mmajunkie1000 Wrestling throws are prominent in judo. Wrestling is way older.

  • @mmajunkie1000 No. These are wrestling throws. Learn some martial art / combat sport history.

  • Great jap at 0:48

  • Bad ass hip throw at 1:05!! Loved it

  • where did you find the footage for the throw at 1:47 ? thank you

  • Ask you for Female Hip and Leg Throw? (Better Quality Video) Is from World Female Championships 2002, Greece. The video is in "Fascination Wrestling 2003 Edition" DVD, FILA. Red Wrestler is Mabel Fonseca, from Puerto Rico.

  • the song is if you still hate me by ill nino and in my opinion slamming is the funnest part in a match other than a pin/tapout/ blackout. Nothing is more satisfying than picking sum1 up then bringing em down hard and hearing the ppl watch go "OOOOOH thts GOTTA hurt!" (ik from experience)

  • You know it

  • It aint if you still hate me, i checked that song and they are nothing alike. do you know the real name?

  • Goood song good vid 5 starz

  • is greco n freestyle like judo? cuz they used like seoi nages and uchimatas. i do wrestling and judo and am thinking about freestyle

  • Yeah, they used a lot of judo throws in there!

  • that first was a firemans from two on one?? Went to fast couldn't tell.

  • Yes, is from two on one, in greco style.

  • very nice

  • that arm twist throw w/ the ankle/heal locked was the sickest throw i've ever seen

  • nice vid song sucks

  • 1.07 he set that up and hit it so perfect...

all the fireman carries. they don't impress me so much

  • 1:05 throw was the best. those chicks can get down. sick video.

  • Damn, most of those were badass. The chick gets dropped right on her face at 0:30... brutal.

  • wrestling is the oldest sport alive and i think judo is awesome. who cares that they share moves?

  • Wrestling is the oldest sport on earth but Freestyle and Greco-roman dates back only to the late 19th century much like Judo.

  • how bout uchimata at 1:39

  • first of all u scrub, its not "hip throws" its called fly aways, tosses and firemans, it just look like throws because the so ripped.

    SCRUBS

  • ur a n00b3

  • i have seen all of those throws you speak of bodyduilder. i never said that there are not throws in mma. i am talking about the way these throws originate, that is from under-over tie-ups or shots not the collar elbow tie. that is all.

  • lol that fireman!

  • A ton of Jap Whizzers, Good Video!

    Song?

  • whats a whizzer?

  • go to 00:27 its like shoulder throw check it out.

  • A whizzer is the counter to an underhook. You can also look at it as an alternative to an underhook when you can't get one.

  • did you ever find out the name of that song? (i know its been 2 years... lol)

  • my experience with mma and with wrestling competition is that there is no collar and elbow tie in mma. in mma you are worried about beating ass(that is throwing and defending bombs) rather than pretty wrestling technique. its just a different beast. wrestling is awesome btw just different.

  • Its a little different but you need to realize that most of the people in mma that are succesful have a wrestling background. I take it you havent seen dan the beast sevrin suplex in ufc? Or quinton rampage jacksons power bombs. Or Frank Shamrocks ko throw.

  • I wholeheartedly agree. The vast majority of the top players in MMA have deep wrestling backgrounds... Not so many collar tie-ups, but greco-roman clinches time after time, especially against the ropes/cage. Wrestling is INVALUABLE in those situations.

  • Whats with all the wrestling-judo hostility? They're both great sports that have a lot in common. Now, what do wrestlers call that throw thats basically the same thing as an uchi-mata? (my favorite throw)

  • Right on! Both are great sports, but; on the whole, I think wrestling is does have a much greater element of intensity... constant explosive movement.

  • I'm not real sure what the wrestling term for uchi-mata is... I do know that if they hop with me more than one time that it transitions fantastically into a belly to back suplex!!!!!!

  • yes, yu're right they are both great martial arts. but wrestling is the oldest form of fighting! i'm a 100% judoka but i respect wrestling alot and in my eyes it's the most devastating martial art. both judo and wrestling are very underrated! but very powerfull( and fast).

btw: stop the fuckin' judo vs. wrestling topic!

  • BADASS

  • o and at :25 usa pwning canada!

  • alright but are an arm spin and a jap whizzer the same thing

  • Jap whizzer is a little different... you wait or bait the guy into pulling a cross-side arm-drag. When he pulls your arm across you come deep inside his arm and then while holding his arm across your body you rotate your upper body very fast to force him to move backwards... at the same time you start lowering your level to "corkscrew him to the ground. If finished properly, your shoulder should be pinning his shoulder to the mat...

  • what is the name of the last takedown?

  • Name is "Arm spin Throw". In spanish, this technic have a few: "Arm throw with spin", "Sacrifice Throw", or "Tekkol" (turkish name).

  • yup i dont believe a firemans carry is a throw..i guess its more of a roll? god

  • nice video wats the song

  • Why dont we wreslters doing this in mma. I think Randy would have owned Chuck if he used these techinques I am not sure what most of them are called in wrestling .

  • Because the dynamics of MMA are much different than wrestling... if the throw goes bad in MMA you've given your opponent your back... Also as you can see, all of these throws are taken from a tie-up or a clinched position. Liddel wouldn't stand still long enough for Couture to take a lot of these throws.

  • Liddel wouldn't stand still long enough for Couture to take a lot of these throws. That's why in MMA you see mostly double and single leg takedowns, or a lot of greco-roman upper body takedowns... Randy is fantastic at these, just look what he did to Gonzaga in his last title defense..

  • Well; In order to be Justice, high level judo players have a great physical performance, with great bodies (both, men and females), same as wrestlers. Finally, we can choose our favorite sport. I be freestyle wrestling coach, but I love both great sports.

  • Freestyle wrestling is not at all like judo. Judo has adopted techniques from freestyle and Greco wrestling styles. Wrestlers are much more fit than these lazy fat judo practioneres. Wrestlers are much more dominant in every aspect.

  • yah, very nice.

    mostly modified judo techniques.

much more difficult to execute on bare sweaty skin.

    firemans carry=kata guruma

    arm spin=seoi nage.

leg pick is a desperation move.

In a tournament, if my opponent shoots for my leg, I will feed it to him. RIGHT IN THE NOSE!

  • many of these throws look like judo throws. Its not uncommon to see an excellet judo player kick ass in a greco-roman wrestling tournament.

  • ...and in contemporary judo, many wrestlers defeat judokas with legs attacks. Now, in both wrestling and judo, the competitors are much more complete, have much more technical resources. Both, wrestler and judoka, must learn throws, takedowns and leg attacks.

  • absolutley correct. I did twelve years of wrestling and i won my first ever judo tournament (white belt beginnner level). All with the double leg takedown and firemans carry.

  • Fireman's carries are supposed to be real rare in real good wrestling, but apparently not. Sweet video. 0:42 is amazing.

  • Fireman Carry to 0:42 is performed by a Mexican Wrestler, Eduardo Nuñez Kumi, from Mérida, Yucatán. Is a great throw.

  • they're ALL firemans!

  • and headlocks and armspins

  • No, actually they aren't....

  • i liked that second move a ireman carry into a russian tie

  • i like how most of all throws are arm spins and firemens carry's

  • thats not true. wrestling was there way before jigoro kano was even concieved. They have ancient carvings in caves of every wrestling move we use today. The throws that you claim come from judo(like that uchi mata) were invented thousands of years ago by wrestlers who didn't use a gi. The only difference is that judo uses the gi which makes it a little easier to grasp someone.

  • Great video, I'm gonna post video response with even more of this style of throwing wrestling.

  • nice

  • Well you suck dick, let's just leave it at that.

  • those are awsome judo is gay wrestling owns

  • Tell that to Karo Parisyan and get your ass beat to a pulp.

  • hes armenaian

  • Funny Wutang, considering all those throws are from judo.

  • these are mostly firemans armspins and hip throws. thes are wrestling throws. judo copied wrestling not the other way around.,

  • No, Judo did not copy wrestling.

  • Don't be dense david. All but a few of the throws in Judo, which were added decades later, originally came from jiujutsu styles Jigoro Kano studied.

  • i liked that fireman's at the starting

  • id tune these noobs

  • I be wrestling coach in México. My wrestlers can throw, and we are not "judokas"... Technical aspects are the same in judo and olympic wrestling... Only graps are a few more easy in judo, but we, wrestlers, can throw at same way.

Statistically, wowen throws more frecuently than men, and greco wrestlers can throw more than freestyle.

  • Awesome, thanks for the insight.

  • These are wrestlers who have trained in judo.

  • Nope. This is pure 100% wrestling. It is a misconception that wrestlers can't throw with the same skill as a judoka, in fact they are at least as good or better. There is no judo here.

  • Probably not. Judo and western wrestling share A LOT of techniques. Both sports try to take the opponent down and pin him, so there are bound to be similarities. There's only so many ways you can do that to a human.

A judoka that shoots for the legs has not neccessarily practised western wrestling either.

  • Wrestling kicks judo's ass!

  • Judo kicks wrestling's ass!

    I won.

  • Thanks for the video, too.

  • Judo sucks..

  • that's the real stuff... this is what wrestling is all about.

  • Cool Vid

  • Whose the dumb judoka who said wrestlers couldn't throw? Imma kick his ass!

  • holy shit! omg WRESTLING 4 ever!
