I've loved him since I saw him perform in a Hollywood, Florida hotel in 1977 and he still gives me chills. They don't have incredible singers like him in today's pop world!
He should have been in movies....he is the best singer ever and he just loves the stage...he was robbed by his managers and he survived.....because he has a gift and he shared it with the world...every thing else was gravy on the potatoes....LOL
Now i am enjoying this song up-tempo more than i liked the original I guess it took me a while to absorb the difference. The slow version is "Mood music" where this really has a nice kick to it Great song either way
For the most part, i do enjoy his music, but i have to say, as a professional musician, that he should have done the song in its' original style..................a four-beat medium-tempo. I used to do this at Karaoke in Ct............i think it's just more sensual ( you'd have to ask the ladies about that )..as we danced while i sang to them with a remote mike.........just a lot of fun( yes i am a keyboardist with 40 years experience ) I still enjoy him though
Omg Engelbert you are the greatest singer and well always be in my heart.Your music always does something to me, so please dont ever stop singer. There is know one that sings better as far as im concern.Without your music there would be know day.
This moment in time is unforgettable and that ocurrs with every song singing by Engelberth however this beautiful song is special for its melody and style. Nunca me canso de escuchar todas las canciones cantadas por Engelberth porque en su voz se hacen maravillosas
I remember hearing this song on the radio back in the early 1990's. I love the lyrics to it, it's very romantic. I never knew who wrote it, I like the lyrics, "Because of you and me there'll be this moment in time." WOW!!
This is actually my favorite of his classic works. On October 9 I saw him in Windsor Ontario and he called me up to the stage to sing a song to me, etc. If anyone has video or a photo from this, I'd love to have it. He is so much fun to be near. And he sings well, too.
The origin is that this song is written by Ritchie Adams and Alan Bernstein for Engelbert. It's not from a musical and nobody else did a rendition. Hope this helps!
A very beautiful song by "The King Of Romance!"

Phyllis, the story behind the song is...the guy who wrote it (and also after the lovin') did so, while he was sick and dying, from his hospital bed.
