I was sitting on a beach towel at the press site watching this just between the flag pole and the countdown clock running my two cameras (in front of all the standing people). I still get a nice warm fuzzy feeling when I think back to that day. :)
I know the pilot. Mark Kelly is married to my Congresswoman. I met him before they were married at her victory party. I have worked both of her campaigns. In fact I have dined with them during camp number 2. It was fun to chat with him. He was impressed I watched the NASA channel. He even remembered me from the first meeting, way cool.
Too bad that nut case was on his mission.
I have been a huge NASA fan for a very longtime now. Is this not a perfect sight or what?
