  • Using only bodyweight, I do these with the other leg wrapped round the back for a judicious little extra push just to get up from the lowest position; I figure that although potentially quite imprecise it is better than a performing a shallower squat. When I get strong enough I will no longer need to involve the other leg.

    I do them slowly with good form, ensuring that something is nearby to grab in case I overbalance. So far I've mostly cured a debilitating knee-weakness.
