  • Surprisingly smooth for a ~$125 tablet.

  • disappointing waiting 3 years for this. i guess olpc couldn't get past the durability issues of the paper-thin version of the xo-3.

  • nice iPad corporate douche bags

  • It slowly got more and more dark in that place. Doubt you can see the screen anywhere near a bright light.

  • @sit001 actually, it's the exact opposite. the camera is showing a glowing screen, and adjusting, and that is why it's "darker". if anything it speaks *to* the brightness of the screen. and the angle at which you can hold the screen seems really good too. and finally, there will be ("will be" because this is also just a first prototype) a sunlight-readable version, for which OLPC is famous for (in my view).

  • @someman7 Ohh! You're right! That is why the screen is glowing such a luminous white at the beginning because the camera wasn't adjusted yet!

  • @sit001

Most videographers don't know how to film screens properly. The problem is that the camera cannot deal well with a bright object in a dark area and overcompensates for that. I would never judge the quality of a screen by looking at a video of it, only with the naked eye will you know how good or bad it is.

  • The 'sugar' interface seems to work better in the tablet form factor than the xo2's laptop shape. Still think that the android option will be more popular. Why not run sugar as a layer on top of android like htc touch does. Then you get access to all the many android apps out there. Think wikipedia should come preloaded for areas with no Internet access.
