  • Dude, I wish you would have included your left hand in this video, so many guys here do covers here and soooo m any people could learn from them and you if you would show your left hand, great stuff otherwise.

  • Larry...In my opinion, this is one of the most powerful songs..You can't help but feel the lyrics...And then to come here for your version?..Your voice is undescribable...I don't know what is more loved...Being here to listen to your cover of it or the strength and passion you give to your music..It doesn't really matter though anyway ...Both are here for any fortunate ones to hear...You are something else, my friend....ione marie

  • Sounds nice, I also did a key change for doing this song and add some chord things, I got an email youtube notice saying this might have possible copy rights to consider (own by Warner Comm.) is this anything to be concerned about? I kept my video up but made it private, like by friends or invitation to see type thing. Have you had this copy rights come up and is it really anything at all on this?

  • Awesome....loved it thanks.

  • The first 45 record I ever bought ! Ah...the memories.....how beautiful !

  • Just Beautiful, well done my Friend. Can you let us know the tuning and the chords please. Thanks

  • Had to post this one on my facebook page too. I love it. Thank you so much for your beautiful cover of a very powerful song.

  • Insanely well done! Beautiful guitar...what's the model?

  • BEAUTIFUL. I loved it. Takes me right back to the first time I heard it many years ago. I love the sound of the guitar. Sometimes it sounded like there were 2 or more guitars playing. Great playing. You're right it is very emotional and will make you cry. I LOVED IT.

  • Nice job!

  • She is going to come riding down from Yellow Mountain for him with a whirlwind by her side. On Wildfire they’re both gonna go. They’re going to leave sodbustin’ behind (hard work on the earth), and hard times will be forgotten as they gallop to a place where beauty and freedom pose no threat.

  • The narrator plants by the dark of the moon. Perhaps this is a reference to getting past the turbulent early stage that trapped the girl (in a blizzard). But an early snow also shortens his rational, plan-making existence, even as it inspired the girl’s emotional decision which led to her passing. A hoot owl is an omen that says it’s time to pass over. It has “been howlin’ . . . for six nights in a row.” (Seven is the number of completion.)

  • Wildfire takes her away, and with him she thus graduates once again and prematurely to yet another dimension to which Wildfire and instinctive freedom are more suited, and where they are safe just to “be” – and where the danger implicit in a freedom here on an earth of overlapping seasons that don’t fit our growth cycle is blissfully absent.

  • . It’s a rough and turbulent initiation up into a new level of existence. It’s like trying to ride Wildfire.

  • She named the young horse “Wildfire.” Untamed emotion – that’s what I see. There is so much beauty in the breaking dawn - in the new things of life, and there is so much untamed vitality bucking beneath deceptive beauty – it’s the emotional awakening of our teenage years. It’s overwhelming and hard to handle, partly because of the sudden, breathtaking appearance of a completely new dimension to life, and partly because that dimension opens up so much more beauty to the inner eye.

  • There is so much to simple folk tales. This one seems pretty simple, though, doesn’t it? A pony busts down its barn doors and now the young horse and the young girl who tried to run after it are gone – except as ghosts who will come back and take the narrator away after an early snow covers his crops before they reach maturity, echoing the “killin’ frost” and blizzard that took away the girl and her pony. But there is more.

  • Great stuff. Great taste.

  • I think you did a great job with your version......somehow your chords dont make me miss the piano and flute that fill out the original. Very plesant and natural voice too !

Wish I had your chords. Greetings from Holland.

  • Very well done! I like you're version.
