I had a luge about 8 years ago. It was home made as well but it was made of 2x3s and a little plywood. I used my long board trucks and wheels. The wheels were kryptonics that had been well used. I tapped 53 mph(paced by car behind me). At my fastest rate of speed, the wheel bearings got so hot that it melted the wheel from the inside out. The wheel deteriorated and started slinging urethane string up on me. Luckly i had just got a new pair of shoes and held it together. I retired that day......

Hey dude,

making a Luge Vid in HD is real cool, but your luge is dangerous. Your luge tends to wobble. When designing, you have to look that your main bodyweight is allocated between the trucks. On that luge at least half of your body is behind the rear truck. Dont do more than 20mls with that one.
