@radabon I'm pretty sure y'all don't say "Mikeranjero" in Italy. But yeah, the way they say it in this song sounds pretty close to how it's pronounced in a lot of European countries.
I will make it my life's work to create an actual teenage (~20-40 in turtle-years) mutated turtle so I can dress it as a ninja and yell the TMNT-theme song all day long while running down the street with my turtle.
Melody is kinda reminding me on Dragon Ball Z opening (Japanese one ofc) at the part with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle chorus ( i assume thats what it means xD)
its funny cuz the 1st 5 episodes of the series count as anime because they were done by toei animation, a popular animation company known for the dragonball series and one piece series
You're confusing Japanese usage and English usage. The Japanese word for any and all animated "cartoons" (this includes CGI and clay-animation as well as traditional animation) is "anime", short for "animeeshon", from the English word "animation". The Japanese refer to Japanese cartoons as "nihon no anime", whereas in English, we use the Japanese term "anime" to refer specifically to Japanese cartoons.
...Was that for me? 'Cause that's essentially what I said (Japanese word for any and all animated "cartoons" is "anime"). All "nihon no" and "anime" does is describe the TYPE of cartoon/anime.
Well, you said "all cartoons are anime, and all anime are cartoons" to that other guy, but in English usage of the term "anime", that's not really the case - not all cartoons are anime (although all anime are cartoons). Just the same as in Japanese, not all "anime" is "nihon no anime" (although all of "nihon no anime" is "anime"). But it's not that big a deal. You seem to get the drift.
Of course, you could argue in favour of descriptive rather than prescriptive definition.
@abrahamWCE But uh Nick and Viacom dont own any of the of the old turtle stuff, just anything made and produced in 2000 and up, the 80's turtles stil belong to Mirage Studios, and thats because the firs t12 episodes of turtles were animated by Toei entertainment of japan, and they refuse to sell the animation stills/designs and copyrights to nick/viacom
wow i thought that the japanese would actually stick with the japanese word for 'turtle' which i believe is 'kame' and ninja which i believe is 'shinobi' but this is funny! i love how they try to say 'tatles'! makes sense since they don't really say 'r' in japan. the first five episodes were actually considered anime since they were made in japan... wow this brings back memories :D
@aquatius oh! that makes since :D since in the book Shogon by James Clavel the samurai called the assassins 'ninja'. ha ha ha! i actually got the word 'shinobi' from Naruto and well.... that should explain that in itself!!!
@7transformer It went to Viacom and Nick at the beginning of the year. There's already merchandise out with the copyright reflecting the ownership change.

Technically yes, seeing as to how anime is just the japanese word for cartoons. In that respect all cartoons are anime, and all anime are cartoons.

interesting how they kept the original melody but translated the lyrics to Japanese, the inverse very seldom happens.
