hey , i have a question.. i m using final cut pro x. does it have this audio filters and effects like eq and all?? because i cant find it... please help !! :-)
@akudada It does. There is a button above the timeline called 'effects' if you hover over it it will say 'effects.' Clicking that will reveal audio effects to add to your clips. You can drag the effects to the clip you want. or click the clip first and double click the effect.
This adds the effect to the clip, going up to the inspector to the right of the main viewer you'll see the audio tab, there you can change the settings for that clip and effect.

how do you get a working audi in final cut? it won't work with mp3 files, but when I change the mp3 file to AAC file. But now I can't even open it in final cut... help?
@gotcats you need to render your audio in the sequence. it's in the same pull-down tab as the video rendering. or click on the clip to activate and hit command r.

Is there a way to lock/link audio and video that aren't from the same source? I want to take audio from a field and recorder and link that with the video so that I can move them both as one combined clip?
@LJP707videos Well, I did see what I wanted to see. I just don't want to look at a minute and half you nothing talk before you start doing something. Be like Nike....Just Do It!!!
I'm very new at FCP. I was wondering if there was anyway to listen to a clip without rendering the audio. Right now I can watch videos without rendering them, but I can hear nothing. Any help would be appreciated. :-)

I have a specific question that I would love your help with (as you said you preferred answering this way). I have a movie that has audio that is out-of-sync. It is off about a half a second. I have used Final Cut simply for editing out commercials and the like, but I'm not proficient enough to fix this problem.
Could you do a video where you would show us how to fix an audio synchronization problem, using a simple movie file?
does anyone know if i can split up audio? as in if my clip is from a film, and I just want the dialogue and not the backing music, can i split the two and just use the dialogue? also, like if i had a song, and just wanted the singing. can this be done?
i recorded some footage at a music festival and i recorded the sound at a too high a level , the audio of low and midrange is fine but the high range stuff is distorted, is there any filters i can add to adjust it or any other way of doing it, or is it completely screwed?
Kaboliproductions you asked how to turn to mono, well hope it helps you: double click the sound track the go in the window and you will see a thing called pan just under the level, any way drag it to the side you need of the audio repeat the process for the second sound track going to the same pan side, boompresto done!
and in general i would recommend most of the people having problems with wind and so on to get soundtrack pro, its got a few nice things that can really save your work.
Hey everyone, Im editing a movie currently but I noticed that there are some background noises/voices faintly in the background. Does anyone know how I can turn they down or possibly just turn the actors voices up? Thanks.
Hey I have a question for you, say if I have a scene where my actor is saying his dialogue outside but there's too much wind caught in the audio. Can I take out that wind distortion even if its over the actors dialogue? I'd greatly appreciate it if you answered this one for me, I've even asked my professor but he seems clueless..
i can't remember what i asked exactly if i asked how to delete the audio then no i don't know how im not stupid its just something i haven't founds out but it doesn't really mater i can just turn it down
i put the soundtrack on the time line but i hear nothing and when i finish my project how can i save it as a movie to put it on a cd or a dvd or even a flashmemory(usb ) plz help me
I had the same problem when I was working on a film festival project and I learned that if you are using a harddisk cammcorder if does not like the way the audio transfers to Final cut. I found that it is best to go and record the audio somewere else then put that audio in the timeline or get sound effects for your clip. And to anyone else that gets the beeping noise, clic on your clip and click "option R" to render it.

Final Cut Pro allows you to turn on and off audio waveform display in the Timeline.
To turn on audio waveform display in the Timeline, do one of the following:
Choose Sequence > Settings, click the Timeline Options tab, then select Show Audio Waveforms.
Choose Show Audio Waveforms from the Track Layout pop-up menu in the Timeline.
Press Option-Command-W.
