  • Was that guy smoking a joint???? ha! maybe that's why he is so monotone.....

  • hey , i have a question.. i m using final cut pro x. does it have this audio filters and effects like eq and all?? because i cant find it... please help !! :-)

  • @akudada It does. There is a button above the timeline called 'effects' if you hover over it it will say 'effects.' Clicking that will reveal audio effects to add to your clips. You can drag the effects to the clip you want. or click the clip first and double click the effect.

This adds the effect to the clip, going up to the inspector to the right of the main viewer you'll see the audio tab, there you can change the settings for that clip and effect.

how do you fix that or what am i doing wrong

  • @gotcats same problem

  • @gotcats you need to render your audio in the sequence. it's in the same pull-down tab as the video rendering. or click on the clip to activate and hit command r.

  • can you muffle the audio?if so how do you do this?

  • FCP: an "unstable" program, unlike AVID

  • I have music playing in my video and a clip with sound. I would like to take out the sound but how do I do it?

  • @PradaHorse

The easy way to do it to unlink audio

You can do that by........... COMMAND L

you can also do it by, OPTION SELECT, click option and select the audio.

Hope its what you are asking!!!

  • @Ykmovies Thank-you (:

  • How do you see the sound waves in order to sync two sound tracks?

  • You talk to fucking much. Get to the damn point already!

  • @LJP707videos Well, I did see what I wanted to see. I just don't want to look at a minute and half you nothing talk before you start doing something. Be like Nike....Just Do It!!!

    Joe

  • I'm very new at FCP. I was wondering if there was anyway to listen to a clip without rendering the audio. Right now I can watch videos without rendering them, but I can hear nothing. Any help would be appreciated. :-)

  • Final Cut Pro allows you to turn on and off audio waveform display in the Timeline.

To turn on audio waveform display in the Timeline, do one of the following:

Choose Sequence > Settings, click the Timeline Options tab, then select Show Audio Waveforms.

Choose Show Audio Waveforms from the Track Layout pop-up menu in the Timeline.

    Press Option-Command-W.

  • I have a specific question that I would love your help with (as you said you preferred answering this way). I have a movie that has audio that is out-of-sync. It is off about a half a second. I have used Final Cut simply for editing out commercials and the like, but I'm not proficient enough to fix this problem.

Could you do a video where you would show us how to fix an audio synchronization problem, using a simple movie file?

I love your videos, is why I ask. Thanks.

  • voice is soothing and sexyyy

  • thanks man, handy. but, damn, you sound so bored. you almost had me falling asleep

  • lmfao

  • does anyone know if i can split up audio? as in if my clip is from a film, and I just want the dialogue and not the backing music, can i split the two and just use the dialogue? also, like if i had a song, and just wanted the singing. can this be done?

  • hi

i recorded some footage at a music festival and i recorded the sound at a too high a level , the audio of low and midrange is fine but the high range stuff is distorted, is there any filters i can add to adjust it or any other way of doing it, or is it completely screwed?

    please

    thanks?

  • EQ :)

  • @2ManyNoobs

    thankyou!

  • @BradenWeir44 Search iZotope RX and watch the demo. AWESOME.

  • You can polish a turd but..... in the end, it's still a turd!!

  • @BradenWeir44 When audio clips, it clips within the hardware it is recorded on. That audio footage is permanently clipped.

  • Thanks for the help!

  • dude if i render a song for a video and play it (not exported) i hear ticking in the background what could be the problem?

  • A practical and clear explaned tutorial of the most important part of this fantastic editing program!

Next to this there are a growing number of AVCHD cam owners ho want to see how to to burn a DVD, AVCHD DVD or BD.

  • Kaboliproductions you asked how to turn to mono, well hope it helps you: double click the sound track the go in the window and you will see a thing called pan just under the level, any way drag it to the side you need of the audio repeat the process for the second sound track going to the same pan side, boompresto done!

and in general i would recommend most of the people having problems with wind and so on to get soundtrack pro, its got a few nice things that can really save your work.

  • Hey everyone, Im editing a movie currently but I noticed that there are some background noises/voices faintly in the background. Does anyone know how I can turn they down or possibly just turn the actors voices up? Thanks.

  • Hi great video:P

  • Thank you very much,....

  • hi, do you know how to make a stereo clip in to a mono one with out closing off a channel?

    Cheers, Chris.

  • Hey I have a question for you, say if I have a scene where my actor is saying his dialogue outside but there's too much wind caught in the audio. Can I take out that wind distortion even if its over the actors dialogue? I'd greatly appreciate it if you answered this one for me, I've even asked my professor but he seems clueless..

  • hi

how can record my voice on final cut?

    thanks

  • I think if you go to the RT button at the top left and click on unlimited you wont need to keep rendering, but it does drop frames sometimes

  • how do you speed up and slow down audio?

  • how do you delete audio

  • select it, then press DELETE

  • that deletes the video 2

  • are you asking for real? or just playing around...

  • i can't remember what i asked exactly if i asked how to delete the audio then no i don't know how im not stupid its just something i haven't founds out but it doesn't really mater i can just turn it down

  • i put the soundtrack on the time line but i hear nothing and when i finish my project how can i save it as a movie to put it on a cd or a dvd or even a flashmemory(usb ) plz help me

  • Just what i was looking for....cheers

  • Thanks dan, you video was great.

  • To Crossstreetbroadcast

I had the same problem when I was working on a film festival project and I learned that if you are using a harddisk cammcorder if does not like the way the audio transfers to Final cut. I found that it is best to go and record the audio somewere else then put that audio in the timeline or get sound effects for your clip. And to anyone else that gets the beeping noise, clic on your clip and click "option R" to render it.

  • no twats like you make youtube unbearable. get a life

  • Dribble at me some more!

  • This guy has obviously just made these videos to quickly help some people out. Who cares how well they are done. If you don't like them fuck off, you ungrateful piece of shit.

  • Can someone explain to me how do you import videos with audio into Final Cut Pro 6? When I import the videos the audio track doesn't import with the audio on to the timeline!

  • can someone tell me how to import itunes music into final cut pro? please respond :)

  • open any mp3 with soundtrack pro and just save it as a copy with extension AIFF

  • Thanks!!!

  • what is the name of the thing

  • do you know how to change the pitch of the audio without speeding it up or slowing it down?

  • When I try to import a music file I get: FILE ERROR: 1 File Recognized 0 Access denied 1 unknown.

    Any suggestions?

  • one question.. when i put music in my movie i dont hear the music , i just hear like peep, peep, peep can anyone please help me?

  • render the audio

  • The beep, beep, indicates that your audio is no Rendered, if you put a *.mp3 audio or other supported format you have to Rener de Audio, except if your audio is *.aif.

  • Thank you for taking the time to do this.

I learn quite a bit from your videos.

  • how do you get the audio waveforms to show in the timeline?

  • You have to set it in the preferences. It's a check box. "audio/visual prefs" I think.. Sorry I cant go and look and be specific.. real busy these days.

  • I got it to work, Thanks bro!!!!

  • i have a song that i want to only have a part of it, so i've been looking for some program to do the job and to cut the part to get only some part of the song, and i couldnt really find one, any help?

  • You should try audacity, you can simpli cut a part of the song and much more. Plus it's free

    from san antonio texas,

  • I Jest Want to tell Thanks for the video ?

  • Sorry am8tam I didn't mean to reply to you but for some reason the comments box hasn't come up but I want to ask what is the difference between final cut studio and final cut pro?

  • Final cut studio is a group of programs that you can buy in one box and final cut studio comes with final cut pro. Pretty much final cut studio is everything you need for making movies, and final cut pro is just a software to edit.

  • ok got ya thanks.

  • what do u record with??

  • Snapz Pro for OSX

  • how long did it take you to learn this thing? i dont think ill ever be able to lean it

  • A little while. The tutorials that came with Finalcut helped out somewhat to get me started and then once you get the flow of how things work it's not too hard.

  • cheers mate! quick question, i just got FC and i was wondering can it do any animation?

  • Unfortunately no. I think the kids are using things like "motion" for that these days. I'm not too up on animation. Most I've used are programs like Bryce5 and cinema4D.

  • ok cheers mate. i have done a little but nothing proper and was just wondering if FC could. cheers anyway.

  • try maya or 3Ds max. you could also try blender (which is free) but it's insane.

  • @stampylongnose use iStop motion :) it's a really good stop motion software :)

  • thanks!

  • thanks so much. im learning final cut pro and these videos are helpful. great!

  • Cool. It's a great program I still have a lot to learn within it myself :)

  • No worries mate, you're doing everyone a favour anyway so big thumbs up.

  • I like your casual approach to all of this Doc. All your tutorials are very helpful. I don't suppose you've done one on movement? I've worked out how to move things from A to B, but I'd like to know how to alter their direction, eg move in an arc or have several changes in direction. Cheers in advance.

  • I've been a bit slack on this channel to be honest and I'm quite backlogged on videos people want me to do. I'll add this to the growing ball however. :) Thanks.

  • Insightful! Thanks!!

  • I have watched most of your tutorials, in a attempt to learn final cut pro after having to switch from sony vegas, for school. They have been very helpful. Thanks a lot. Keep up the good work.

  • Awesome. Thanks for watching. Glad they have helped some people get started.

  • Hey, good job! I would love to see a tutorial on keyframes and motion... I am using final cut with a lot of images. Do you know much about motion?

  • If you mean "motion" as in..the program. I haven't used that yet. Looks good though. Keyframes work in much the same way across the board.

  • Thanks a lot! Really useful, I've been exporting audio to Garageband and manipulating audio there because I didn't know this level of manipulation was available in Final Cut. - Mike

  • Glad it was of some help Mike. Sounds like one hell of a work around you had goin there :)

  • THANKS! Good as always!

  • Dan, just noticed towards the end of the video you kinda sound a bit fed up, like you're bored and unhappy - you okay mate??

  • LOL I should make these when I'm in a better mood and it's not 2am huh :) I'm good. Just a lot on my mind lately. Well picked up though Stu.

  • are u going to get Final Cut Studio 2. S it the same as Final Cut Studio.U doing a good job with this u been alot of help

  • No worries. I do want to get the latest Finalcut Studio although funds may not allow me to do it anytime soon.
