  • Best song of the last 3 albums!!!

  • fucking awesome guitar B)

  • Camera is on him...Paice is pure show

  • what mode of the harmonic minor is steve morse playing ?

  • 0:30 Ian Paice dropped The stick

but Chuck Norris give him another one so that's no problem

  • cant you tell what happened at 0:30-0:33? He obviously dropped the stick

  • steve morse is the best !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Deep Purple!!! One of their classics.

    Thanks.

  • Don Airey is an INCREDIBLE player...but I miss Jon Lord, still! Steve morse is simply spectacular..

  • Иан Пейс монстр бля!!!! Дип Пёрпл мазафака...круть!!!

  • The intro brings Rainbow's Tarot Woman to my mind... But this is great song (Tarot Woman too, of course)... But I like a lot of the riff... Good atmosphere, one of the greatest song after Purple reunion.

  • Roger Glover is a killer bassist.. damn..

  • This is my favorite all time Deep Purple song.. I gotta say tho.. Steve sure looks like Uncle Ted.. LOL..thats a good thing btw..

  • Steve Morse is just sublime. People think Petrucci is the demon of alternate picking and technique... Morse is the Daddy though.

  • Dude! Ian Paice can do more with just one drumstick than many highly praised drummers with the two sticks XD.

Long live Mr. Paice, one of a kind and one of the best!

  • I think this is the best song deep purple have written for 30 years, and the band sounds better than ever here

  • 0:32!! XD look at the left drum stick :D

  • This is the best song ever. Steve Morse is wonderfull

  • Steve Morse awesome, one of the biggest guitarist !

  • watch roger glover...quietly doing a good job, these people are experienced and talented musician ,just bringing good music to us people!

  • Looks like when Spinal Tap left hard rock and became a jazz band. I always liked Steve Morse and all, but he never had charisma or even looked like a guitar hero. He looks like a guy working in a guitar store. DP without Ritchie Blackmore is like Van Halen without Eddie. It simply can't be. Period.

  • ian paice ha fatto cadere una bacchetta ma è sempre un ottimo batterista...c***o!

  • Ian paice 0:31 !!! LOL

    Fucking awsome !!

  • sounds a bit like the beatles. Got to get you into my life!!!!

I was alone, I took a ride, I didn't know what I would find there.

  • he drops the drum stick at 0.32!!! AMAZING SONG!!!

  • marvelous

  • Killer.

  • Why is it called Deep Purple when the only original member is the drummer?

  • @sejemandhaha not only the drummer. the man on the base ist original too, and ian gillan (singer) is also original.

  • @Petraschek1 Rod Evans (vocal), Nick Simper (bass), Jon Lord (keyboard), Ritchie Blackmore (guitar) & Ian Paice (drums).

    That was the original lineup.

Ian Gillan (vocal), Steve Morse (guitar), Roger Glover (bass), Don Airey (Keyboard), Ian Paice (drums).

    This is the current line-up.

  • @sejemandhaha - Ian Gillan is a big part of why Deep Purple become the monster they was in the 70's, Roger Glover has been apart of Deep Purple / Rainbow just as much as any other member, Don Airey has a long history with the bandmembers and is approved by Jon Lord himself. As for Steve Morse he has done a fine job carrying on the band after Ritchie Blackmore. I believe they have every right to keep the name even dough the band has had ALOT of bandmembers in and out.

  • @GeorgVanHalen Rod Evans (vocal), Nick Simper (bass), Jon Lord (keyboard), Ritchie Blackmore (guitar) & Ian Paice (drums).

    That was the original lineup.

Ian Gillan (vocal), Steve Morse (guitar), Roger Glover (bass), Don Airey (Keyboard), Ian Paice (drums).

    This is the current line-up.

  • Yes, you are absolutely right. But the classic line-up is the "Mark II", consisting of Ian Gillian (vocal), Ritchie Blackmore (guitar), Roger Glover (bass), Jon Lord (Keyboards) and Ian Paice (drums).

  • @GeorgVanHalen A few years ago Roger Glover was telling me how they used to be called "Roundabout" and that the name still sticks with him as while the band goes round and round the members jump on and off onto different bands, come back, go again...

  • This is bloody marvellous....

  • What key is the song and can anyone send me a link to a site with the solo?

  • Deep Purple is definitively the only old times rock band that is still out there actually producing incredible new material albums.

One thing is bowing down to a band playing their past hits; but Deep Purple does that and more! Incredible.

  • I met Ian Gillan and Tony Iommy in 2009, in Yerevan, Ararat restourant!!!!! It was a fantastic day!!

  • steve and don are worthy successors to ritchie and jon... they bring out the best in each other on stage and in the studio.

  • agreed to the last few posts

Airey & Morse are great and a great fit, looking forward to the next cd, I believe this line up has now hit it's stride

  • Acepto que Don Airey toca muy bn, pero JON LORD es JON LORD!!!

No menosprecio :O, sólo es el grito de una fanática *o*

  • after 40 years in stage, they are one of few groups continue writing kicking ass album.

    deep purple, best group ever!!

  • See the drummer lose a stick in the first minute. Gets another. Never misses a beat. Class!!

  • I've always loved Steve Morse...better than Richie Blackmore, in fact. I was skeptical when I heard that Jon Lord was leaving the band. I thought no one could take his place. But frankly, I am completely amazed by Don Airey. I don't know if anyone could have been a better replacement for Don Lord than he has been. Rapture of the Deep is the best DP album to come out in the past 15 years.

  • I agree with you caspianrex. I Would have never thought of DP without Blackmore and Lord. But I am impressed with Morse and Airey. The band sounds mature.

  • me gusta me gusta!!! grandi i deep purple!

  • what a solid band. wow.

  • fantastico,me gusta, suenan como siempre,wooooo

  • 0:32 LOL

  • when ian dropt his stick i laughed pretty hard but, i was amazed how fast he grabbed another stick and got on with it.

    long live deep purple

  • Awesome as always, Purple. Looking forward for the new album!

  • The grace, with which Ian Paice recover after loosing a stick is stunning :-)

  • I am simply amazed that Ian would be 61 years old at the time of this concert/video. He still sounds and looks absolutely amazing

  • Sweet riff. I love the solo, but the I'm sorry to say that the rest of the songs on this album are crap compared to the old stuff (Except from Rapture Of The Deep of course)

  • can't really agree. I think all the songs on the album Rapture of the Deep are quite good. Especially for a band that's been around for almost 40 years !

  • Lmao dropping his sticks at 32 seconds

  • yes, but he didn't really miss the beat. Nobody at the concert could have noticed that .. and that takes a pro !

  • Deep Purple is rising again !

  • Steve MORSE brings new eternal YOUTH and CREATIVITY in DEEP PURPLE.

    He is rea

  • @lekezenman Finally, someone knows what there talking about. Steve is way better than Blackmore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @lekezenman New? He's been the guitarist for 17 years...

  • @ericgillis I never realized it's been that long. Gawd how time flies.

  • Wonderful song. Jointly Sometimes I Fell Like Screaming, is the better song of Purple in Morse-era.

Gillan here sing with emotion, power, feeling.

  • my prefer band english..w the deep purple forever..by OLIVER

  • Let's face it: all DP fans misses the other Marks, but... Steve Morse is a blessed musician. Don Airey kicks butt to the max. Long live to these masters, along with both Ians and Glover. Deep Purple is a forever stuff. Love them unconditionally, listen whithout prejudice and enjoy the MUSIC the make. Regards.

  • all Deep Purple line-ups had good stuff to offer including the current one! All their latest albums have been really good.

  • Yes, indeed. I used to prefer Mark II, but with the time I realized the same as you: Once is DP, is good stuff!

  • Don Airey had Jon Lord's personal stamp of approval when Jon retired from Deep Purple. He said if there was any keyboard player good enough to fill his shoes, it was Don Airey.

Jon Lord is my favorite keyboard player of all time, but Don is no sneeze having worked with Gary Moore, Ozzy Osbourne, Whitesnake, Rainbow and many others. I saw him with Ozzy in '84. But I did get to see Mr. Lord with Purp twice the next year. I'll never forget that.

  • I'm not sure, I know Don Airey replaced him for two years at one point near then, and then became permenant shortly after when John left for other things. Jon Lord may have already gone by this time or he may simply have been out for a bit.

Granted John Lord is far better than don airey at playing this style, but I think Don does a better job than most others would.

  • where's Jon Lord??

  • Jon Lord Left in 2002, and is currently working on music with symphonys, unfortunaly not Don Airey nor anyone in the world can recreate the Mr.Lord Sound. Its Jus not purple without him :(

  • Word.

  • Wonderful music!!! Gillan destroys!!!

    Superb riff!!

  • Morse is so killer, great guitarist....

  • Deep Purple is like the best band ever. i got the dvd of the show they made in montreux, and you know what, i was at montreux when they did that show, me and my dad were like, OMFG, i really want to hear them live cuz my dad is like 50 years old, so DP is one of his fav. bands, and im 14 and i love it too

  • al mounstro Ian paice se le cae la baqueta al comenzar a tocar fijense jejeje

    está ya mayor

  • Omg Steve is so cute x3

  • Great performance! One of the best rocksongs since 1970´s!

  • I honestly never noticed the dropping of the drum stick. Until I read 2 pages of comments about it xD

  • Probably because Paice recovered so perfectly from it you never would've noticed!

  • Steve Morse is one of of the greatest guitarist in the world, he is brilliant :P

  • Roger Glover is great bass player.

  • These guys sound better than they ever did. Wonderful band, they still sound fresh, alive and I can't wait for the new album!

  • are they recording a new studio album at the moment? :D

  • my favorite thing about steve morse is no matter what the speed of the solo/song is he picks every note in it...the only time he doesn't pick is when he is string bending! Amazing!

  • HA!!! ian dropped his stick, lol

  • ...but he is a very good drummer, i love him :)

he is my ideal :) (and im left handed too:)

  • did u guys notice the drummer dropped one of his sticky things at 0.32

  • It's O.K. because Ian Paice can play drums better with one hand than any modern rock drummer can.

  • Or I should say than any modern can with both hands.

  • Maybe just after Rick Allen of Def Leppard, don't you think?

  • come on gyus he is a professional drumer!!!he plays drums up to 30 years(i think).he has the experience to react in occasions like this...if he was a beginner, maybe he would stop in the middle of the song to take another stick....

  • Love DP like SM, BUT, if you hear enough of his playing you pick up that nearly every rock has at least one or 2 ascending and descending scale runs. Gets a wee bit samey after a while.

  • Steve Morse kicks ass!

did he write this one or did blackmore write it? i'm not sure if morse writes with them or not

  • This is of the 2005 Rapture of the Deep album, Blackmore had left by then, he left in 1993 I think.

Steve morse wrote the guitar bits on this song.

  • ah cool, thanks. i honestly wasn't expecting a reply. from what i've read, Mores wasn't accepted very well by many fans. so far i think this is my favorite

  • It's a shame, I think a lot of fans like Morse, it's just that there are people who never got over Blackmore leaving Purple and are more Blackmore fans than Purple fans, which again is a shame.

This is a great track, it's actually one of my favourite Purple tracks (along with 'Sometimes I Feel Like Screaming' - another Morse song)

I personally am a big fan of Steve Morse, one of the best guitarists I've ever seen play (I am lucky enough to have seen Purple with Morse twice).

  • i'm not much of a purple fan, most of what i listen to is heavier. i actually found out about Morse from Dream Theater and i listened to a little bit of the dregs and Morse's own band and all of that was really cool. i like what he's doing with Purple though. i'll have to hear a lot more before i decide whether or not to go see them live though

  • ian can still sing after all these years, unlike so many from that era

  • 64 years now... i love you ian.

  • Verry Good,

    Love this pice of music.

Gillan can still sing whit power

  • I love them all, always have done, always will. They can do no wrong.

  • oddly this is the first deep purple song i ever listened to...

  • then you should continue to listen to their other songs...a great band...personally my favorite..be it with morse or blackmore..

  • Best song of last 10 years

  • Best band of all time!!!

  • damn straight!

  • on 20th of july in istanbul ..

  • Deep Purple forever!Simple they are the best in the whole Galaxy system.....

  • I like how moorse bring that edge to his songs, it gives a good feel and flow for the song

  • loved how paice recovered that, one of the greatest drummers of all time

  • @seamen91 i love Ian Paice the only one left from original band line up.

  • nice one paicey

  • Very impressed by how Paice handled that...switched to hi-hat pedal straightaway, went straight for the stick, never missed a beat. If you weren't watching you'd never know. True pro.

  • Gillan didn't ruin s&#t! This man is legend, I hope I sound like this after 40 + years ! This song rules!!! My first Purple concert was Perfect Strangers tour and hooked for life. Love how Morse has morfed his style into this classic DP hard driving sound.

  • they've been in Basel (switzaaaland) yesterday. daaaamn! I enjoyed them!!!!!

  • Oh yeah, it was one of the best concerts I ever was!

  • Super Riff

et j'adore le lacher de baguettes de Ian Paice

    MDR

  • Jeez, he could move around a bit...xD

  • > 0:29 the best:

  • 0:32 the best haha

  • I don't think so because this song is made by steve morse and this is not Blackmore style

  • Listen to Ritchie's improvised solo on Anya from Stuttgart 1993. It is very middle-eastern in style. Ritchie has a very aggressive and exciting style. This song would be great with him playing. However, Steve is also a fantastic guitarist and is the current Deep Purple guitar player so I wish people would accept it!

  • first of all, no it would not be good if blackmore played this song, and second of all ritchie does not have the tone that would fit this style of song, third of all ritchie could not be able play steve's solo at all.

  • KING of Rock

  • deep purple is verrv cool

  • Paice is an idol!

  • paice is on of the best drummers of all times ,so shut the fuck up

  • Excuse me, but "idol" i think is a good thing, isn't it?

Well, my english suck, and in spanish "ídolo" is a person that one admires

But, in rock, Paice is a super drummer, but bill brufdord rules all...but I agree with you, so i don't know why you send me to "shut the fuck up"

  • it doesn't make any sense to compare drummers, Bruford has nothing in common with Paice, they are both amazing

  • deep purple for ever! ian paice is the best!

  • after all this time and they still got it.

    Deep Purple forever!

  • Superb riff..

  • This Song Is So AWSOME :D

  • i saw them two days ago in denmark.. it was the best thing ever so good performance

  • I saw them live today...this song was damn awesome!!!

  • It's part of the song, you spastic.

  • I know it's part of the song mate, calm down. All I'm saying is that a great song could be made perhaps even better, in my opinion, if Morse's guitar line was unaccompanied by Gillan.

  • it's part of the fucking song you ignorant fuck

  • Well, that was completely unneccesary. I happen to have nothing but respect and admiration for this band, I was only voicing an opinion.

  • haha ian paice you're the best

  • I just love it when Paice drops his stick and still keeps the beat solid as rock!

  • Paice. <3

  • i like this song

  • i'm sorry

    ".......our own peculiar ways" :)

  • we are all the same but then again

we are all quite different in our peculiar ways

  • this version is superior to the other one in youtube

  • oh my God.....this is the best!!!!

    I love Deep Purple!!!

  • Ótima música.Nota 9,0.

  • did u see at 0:32 the drummer drops his drumstick! Which means he was hitting the drum hard so that eqauls to great song! :)
