I'm just wondering what your view of healing is with individuals who have diminished vision to the point of needing corrective lenses. Have we allowed that impairment to exist in our bodies?
@ohsnapyouwish Jesus Himself said: "Your Kingdom come, your WILL be done on earth as it is in Heaven" Matt 6:10. That means it is HIS will to have what is currently going on NOW in the Heavens to be here on earth. Is there any glasses in Heaven? When the blind saw, did they have 50% percent healing in there eyes? No. When He healed, He always did it over the top and Amazing! :) If i had one word i could describe God with it would be: "Extravagant!" and even then He goes beyond what i can think!
@thecucumber360 - okay...so I was pretty sure what your response would be...I'm assuming you're a member of Bill Johnson's church, if not you at least agree with his doctrine on healing. So then here's my question, why does he wear glasses?
@ohsnapyouwish Hey! :) I didnt remove any comment. I am not a member of bethel, but i have gone to many meetings and gotten the chance to hang out with bill, and he wears glasses because he himself hasnt received a healing in that area yet. Why? dont know, but he continues to trust God for that healing. Be very careful because i do not want anyone getting in the mindset that: "Well if he teaches healing, why does he have glasses?" That right there is a very dangerous place to be.
@ohsnapyouwish because it is the very mindset the pharisees had when they crucified Jesus saying: "If you are the Son of God come down from there!" (Matt 27:40) It is a place of seeking proof that what is being said is real or true. Now, i have been to Bill's meetings at Bethel, and have seen God restore broken bones, blind eyes opening, souls come to God through the teaching of the forgiveness of sins, etc. I have seen much much fruit come out of Bill and His ministry.
@thecucumber360 I think it’s important that we go back to my very first post. My only question was, “Have we allowed that impairment to exist in our bodies?” which was prompted by hearing Bill Johnson speak the following in reference to sickness and God, “no He’s not allowed it. We allowed it.” You never actually addressed my question. I then asked why he wears glasses. Obviously, I see a disconnect with what he’s preaching and what’s occurring in his own life.
@ohsnapyouwish Bill probably still wears glasses because it hasn't bothered him enough to ask for or believe for healing. He may like wearing glasses, strangely enough, I know some people who do. It doesn't mean that he is a "pharasee" or a "fake". He is not leading people away from God but rather to God. The things he says are true to scripture. So don't go letting the enemy lead you astray because you see him wear glasses. He's not sick with anything, that to me is a testament of his faith.
@thecucumber360...If I were to follow his doctrine on sickness and healing, I can only draw the conclusion that he’s allowed the impairment of diminished vision to occur in his life. In your most recent response to me, you wandered down a different road and began addressing an issue that was never in question. Let me be very clear - I fully, resolutely believe in miraculous healing. I believe that Jesus Christ bore stripes on Calvary for my healing.
@ohsnapyouwish And i believe you do believe that. So do I. I have had the honor of praying for sick people, and seeing them healed by the very name of Jesus Christ, and it brought Him glory! And has bill allowed this sight problem to rule over His life? I would say no. There is a difference between allowing and taking a stand and fighting what is at hand. Well why does he still wear glasses? Dont know. God hasnt said anything. All He said was Matt 10:7. That in Psalms 103 He heals all sickness.
@thecucumber360...I’m a testament to His healing power - I was healed of a very rare disease at the age of seven.
All that being said, I would caution you not to insinuate someone of being pharisaic when he/she questions a doctrine promoted by a man. As believers we must be mindful that we don’t accept things that simply appeal to our itching ears, but instead make sure that what we listen to and receive lines up with the Word of God.
@ohsnapyouwish Yes i agree 100% :) I wasnt saying you did believe like the pharisees, i was just thrown caution out there. God is so good to heal you at the age of seven and i am thankful for every testimony. The main reason i said what i did, was because there is many people who have asked "Why isn't he healed if preaches it?" Test the spirits. :) What do people feel when they watch this video? Does it match with scripture? Is it genuine?
20/20 vision doesn't make bill any better of a man of God. For all I know, Bill has better vision than all of us because He relies on the eyes of the Lord to help him see things that the human eyes cannot see.
@missedthemark You are wrong about those who were healed. You have not read your bible. And I have a funny feeling that you're not really interested in what the entire counsel of God is. The blind man in Jn 9 was not asking for healing and Jesus healed him anyway. But you miss the point. If a man fully believes in full healing, then he should be fully healed. He is like a bald man selling rogaine. You go ahead and buy it, but I'll be getting my information from the entire bible.
@conradbirdy What about those who don't get healed? Job 2:10 "He replied, "You are talking like a foolish woman. Shall we accept good from God, and not trouble?" In all this, Job did not sin in what he said." Just like Job said, we must learn what the Lord's will is.. everything happens because he permitted it. Job 13:15: Though he slay me, yet will I hope in him. Though he might not heal or he does heal, I will praise Jesus Christ. :) For in my pain He can be even more further glorified!
Why does Bill Johnson wear corrective lenses? Are the eyes beyond God's care? Beyond Bill's faith? Maybe Paul didn't understand these great "truths" that Bill is sharing (2Cor 12). Please, people: the full counsel of God, not some of it.
@conradbirdy How do you know bill has asked God to heal his eyes? The people who were healed by Jesus were the ones who wanted it. The ones who didn't get healed were the ones who didn't pursue Jesus to heal them. I've seen people pursue God to heal them and it's instant, but I've also seen people pursue God for healing over 10 years, and then it eventually happens. The thing is, they didn't give up. Read Luke 11:5-10 about the persistant friend. It really sheds light on this subject.
@themotiomaddict2 Jesus has redeemed us from the curse of the law-galations 5, blessings and curses can be found in deut 28 this makes it very clear that God, under the new covenant, cannot attack us with sickness, disease because they are considered curses and not blessings in Gods eyes!
because a believer in healing gets sick isnt a contradiction. nobody ever said we cant get attacked with sickness but we can over come it through Christ. thats like saying because Jesus freed me from sin I cant commit an act of sin

WOHOOO!!! Yay,God! Jesus would never contradict Himself by taking stripes on His back for our healing and our peace, and our iniquities and rise from the dead, ascend into Heaven then turn around and say, 'sorry, can't heal you- you need to 'learn' from this sickness' What was the cross for then? I love the FULL gospel!!! It's GOOD NEWS
AMAZING! Please keep posting!! GOD BLESS YOU FOR THESE POSTS! I treasure great men and women of God who have labored to bring us the truth and not back down! I AM EXCITED ABOUT GOD! YAY GOD!
@hazelmay64 I totally agree. Bill Johnson claims that the sickness is not from God and that God has not allowed it. This means that God is not in control and in the same level with Satan where they have to war against eachother. This is a false gospel. All the apostles went through pain. If we cannot agree that God is in control and it's only by his permission things happen, we are denying that God is sovereign! So I agree. Sickness is allowed by God to bring God even more glory!
@themotionaddict2 have you ever read the beginning of the book of job ? it says that satan had to get permission from God to attack job , then once God let satan do what he wanted , jod did not turn his back on God once , not even after loosing everything and being terribly sick ! then look what happened to job when satan couldn't beat job ! God blessed Job after that with many good things ! so God is in control ! and thank you Jesus for that !
@1948tc Right, so how good is the God you believe in if He gives a thief permission to rape his children? I don't think you could find a bad father who would ever give someone permission to break into their house, murder their family, and rape their children, let alone one who is good like God. Jesus never allowed or gave the devil permission to harm a single person, He is the exact representation of God's being (hebrews 1:3). Find the original Hebrew of Job, it changes everything you were told.
@MyLifeForAuir87 again that was before christ had paid the prise read mathew chapter 1, there peace between and good will between god and men . meaning jesus was going to pay the prize god heals them all.
Christ violated the sabbath by healing the sick. The Pharisees condemned Him for it. Ask yourself this. Where in scriptiure does it say we, as His disciples , would NOT heal the sick, raise the dead and cast out demons?
Christ violated the Sabbath for the sake of the sick. The Pharisees condemned Him for that. Where in scripture does it say we as Christs disciples would NOT heal the sick, raise the dead and cast out demons? So wheres the problem.?
This man does not teach the gospel of Christ saving the lost souls. Nowhere in his teaching does it talk about humility, repentance of sin or coming to the cross and dying to ourselves. He teaches the opposite of what Scripture says---that we can be 'gods' and do our will and falsely claim it is gods. I believe and have received true healing. But this Word-Faith/Prosperity gospel is a money-making scam. Steer clear of Bill's heretical teaching---he does not teach from Christ.
@MyGodIsEternal Healing was done by Christ. People who are healed are saved. I heard "Christ Saving Preaching" my whole childhood and that got me no where, it made me look like the world, no difference. Jesus healed everyone oppressed by the devil, and He charged us with the same duty as His followers. HE said we would do greater things than He.
@sailingonwaves wait... so does this mean that bethel people are never going to die? Cmon... Christ did not come so that we can live a healthy life here on earth. He came so that we can have eternal life with Him. I believe healings happen but we shouldn't limit God into thinking He can't do anything out of the sickness. He gives the sickness. Look at the book of Job. He gave permission to Satan. But praise God that God works all things for the good of those who love Him!! :)
@themotionaddict2 he allows satan to bombard us at times because we become dependant on God in those times. God himself did NOT make Job go through what happened Satan did. If we were to live a life without tribulation we wouldn't feel the need to depend on God so this is why he allows us to go through difficult and hard to handle circumstances.
@jkwasy God does not allow Satan to bombard us. If He's going to allow Satan to bombard us, naturally He would have to be in control of Satan to do that right? The Bible says that light does cannot have fellowship with darkness. But saying God controls Satan implies that He has to have fellowship with Satan in some way, shape or form at some point. That contradicts the fact that light cannot have fellowship with darkness. God cannot use Satan because light and darkness don't mix.
@blahdyblahable God has already defeated Satan. That's why nothing can stand in his way when we let him have control. If God did not have authority over Satan then Satan would win every battle cuz his ways are easy. He allows trials to be present in our lives cuz without them we would not rely on him. God does not send Satan out on missions to torment us but if he sets out to on his own God wont stop him until we call out his name and let him have his way with the situation. He is no match for God
@themotionaddict2 So why does the Bible record that Jesus touched all who came to Him? Moving on from that, it says that His followers will do greater things. If He healed 100% of the time then the natural conclusion is for us to see the same happen since He said, "Heal the sick, raise the dead, cast out demons." Also, God does not give sickness. There is no sickness in Heaven...how can God give something He doesn't have....
@themotionaddict2 ...and moreover, anything that isn't in Heaven is not of the Lord. Sickness is the opposite from the way God intended creation to be. It is a result of sin (the fall one might say) and is not an attribute of God. How then can we say He gives sickness? Jesus said, "If your earthly fathers, being evil, give you good gifts how much more so does the Father desire to do good to you?" If good earthly fathers don't dish out bad things on their children, why would we say God does?
@blahdyblahable ) But when God looks at a painful, wicked even through his wide angled lens, He sees the tragedy of the sin in relation to everything leading up to it and everything flowing out of it. He sees it in relation to al the connections and effects that form a pattern, or mosaic, stetching into eternity. This mosaic in all its parts (good and evil) brings Him delight. When the universality of things was considered, the death of Jesus was seen by God as a magnificent way to demonstrate
@blahdyblahable His righteousness. (romans 3:25-26) and bring His people to glory (hebrew 2:10) and keep the angels praising Him forever and ever (Rev 5:9-13) If Jesus thought Him dying on the cross wasn't God's will... would He have submitted to God... or would have tried to fight satan? It says that Jesus prayed but wanted God's will be done. Wasn't it God's will for Him to be crushed so that we all may come to know the beautiful knowledge of the cross and be made alive through him??
@blahdyblahable Nonono.. this verse is saying that all things that the father does is good. It doesn't just mean whatever is good in our eyes will be given.. but God can see even suffering and pain as something good for us. We can learn how to hope in the 2nd coming, we can trust God in his faithfulness when we fail.. we develop fruits but yielding to the holy spirit. Who said pain and suffering isn't good for us unless God sees it as good?
@themotionaddict2 In concluding, if God dishes out the sickness, why then do we pray against sickness? Wouldn't that be going against God's will? One could then argue that Jesus Himself went against God's will by healing all who came to Him. If our theology says God causes sickness, then we've violated God's will by praying against sickness. Jesus did come to bring eternal life...but He also came to heal and restore. Sorry for being long winded...I felt I should explain myself well. =)
@blahdyblahable Explain to me this verse. Deuteronomy 28:61. The Lord will also bring on you every kind of sickness and disaster not recorded in this Book of the Law, until you are destroyed." (The Lord is speaking through Moses to the Israelites if they do not keep the Law.) Amos 3:6 "Does disaster come to a city, unless the Lord has done it?" and Job 2:10 "Shall we receive good from God, and shall we not receive evil?"
@blahdyblahable It's unbiblical to attribute to Satan or (sin) the power to frustrate the designs of God. God's sovereignty covers all calamities.God is sovereign and can do anything He pleases, none of His purposes can be frustrated. Psalm 115:3 "Our God is in the heavens; he does all that he pleases"everything. Lastly another verse, "Who has spoken and it came to pass, unless the Lord has commanded it? Is it not from the mouth of the MOST HIGH that good and bad come?" Job 3:37-38
@blahdyblahable God wills what He abhors. The clearest example that even moral evil fits into the designs of God is the crucifixion of Christ. Acts 2:23 "This Jesus, delivered up according to the definite plan and foreknowledge of God, you crucified and killed by the hands of lawlwss men." The betrayal was sin but it was part of God's ordained plan. Proverbs 16:33 "The lot is cast into the lap, but its every decision is from the Lord."
@blahdyblahable Matthew 10:29 "Not one sparrow will fall to the ground without your father's will. One book I would recommend you to read is "desiring God by John Piper." It talks about our infinite glorious God and the characteristics. It'll give way better illustrations that I can ever give you. I hope you continue to search and allow God to show you how He's indeed powerful and magnificent enough to use all sickness, deaths, sorrows, hurts, and pains for His glory.
@blahdyblahable God dishes sickness out so that we can see him move. I'm not saying God doesn't heal or can't heal. But my point is that if God is not allowing sickness who is? us in our little faith? I believe that no matter what man does, it cannot thwart the sovereignty of God. There needs to be discernment because not every sickness is caused by sin. Matthew 5:45. "He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous."
And plus I don't think prayer should be used to just heal the sick. I believe prayer is for us to become more intimate with God through all circumstances. Its for us to share the heart of God espeically with those that are suffering. Suffering/Pain is a part of life. If God withholds this from us, how will we truly know how to glorify God in all circumstances?
oh and good luck with "making" Redding, "Cancer free." I have a very strong feeling that the only reason he says this is because his own father died of cancer. would that not be an indication to him, in itself, that there is something seriously wrong with what he believes and how he percieves God? I pray Redding becomes rid of this man's "cancer"... We should be praying for something to be broken of of people, for sure.. it's called sin...and in the end none of us can do it on our own.
check out Is 3. That'll make ur head spin. He deliberately brings physical illness on who? the Assyrians? No, the woman of His own people, Zion... why to discipline them because they had completely gone astray. And I'll through this out there for free sometimes he disciplines us before hand, so that we will not go astray. Heb 13 has some interesting stuff to say about that... Anyways, ur problem is that u r interpreting the bible with "the help" of one man... when u should be
@thecucumber360 why do people deny truth so much, and tear up people's ministries saying things that they aren't preaching certain things. mannnnn I can't stand it any more! BUT thank you for posting this regardless.
perhaps they are right. It is possible that you could be wrong. Even the apostle Paul said that he guards himself from deception, he said none of you are above deception..you could be wrong..with love i say this brother
In defence of Faith. According to Hebrews 11:6 "It's impossible to please God without faith." Why waste my time reasoning within myself for another way to please Him? Great teaching Bill Johnson!
And Wigglesworth said "If God's not moving, I will move Him." mmmm could be that, as all-knowing creator of the universe, He's not moving for a reason?... so good luck with that :(
Well actually sickness is from the hand of God in the end. sickness is a result of ... the curse. The curse that God actually administered, if u read ur bible. 1 Pete 4:13 "But rejoice that u participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that u may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed. :)" cancel the suffering thru realizing ur God given assignment? Nope, rejoice in it. Remember that it is only for a time, and that God will use it to produce perseverance, character and hope :)
@Amoostoons Please understand that suffering in the context of 1 Peter 4:13 is not referring to sickness/disease but persecution by the non-believers, more specifically by the Roman government. You shouldn't just read the Bible, but should consider the context and background of each Scripture. Otherwise, you will be making a mistake of misquoting the Bible verse, just like what happened with you in your post.
letting it interpret itself :( So basically what ur saying is this verse has nothing to say to the typical north american Christian Because lets face it very few of us have been physically persecuted for our faith in Christ. I'd like to suggest that it speaks to all of us and to a wide range of sufferings... that we are to have the same attitude that the early church had when they suffered. Anyway there's more so ill send it in a message because this is already excessive :(
Is u've taken a passage that is inspired by a specific kind of suffering, yes, but clearly speaks to a wider range of suffering for the Christian.. (including sickness b/c it says so in the beginning of the chapter.. "he who has suffered in the body is done with sin. " Would that not also seem to describe sickness? uh yep. God can't bring sickness on his people? Oh really.
what u've done in your shortsightedness and because it's been pounded in ur head no doubt, "God doesn't want sickness, God's not allowing sickness, God can't bring sickness, God can't use sickness...
Bill is so passionate in this recording not very often does he get so strong, but how true if God's church could grasp even this our world would be a different place because of us. Thanks for sharing this!
Signs, miracles, wonders... In the Gospel of Mark Jesus says that these will FOLLOW. It feels that miracles are more important to these guys than preaching the gospel.
once again, i wanna keep people from debating on my vids, i want nothing more than to encourage people, and let this vid help them learn about the Man Jesus :) I dont want people getting confused about this and that by reading arguing. Much Love everyone! If you have questions pls ask me in a message. Thanks! Matt 10:7
u only stand to gain in a debate... u either establish ur position more firmly (and believe it even more strongly) or u r persuaded by the other person to leave ur position for a better one. I am growing so tired of Christians who refuse to think :(
@thecucumber360 Yeah we can be saying love love love but if it's not with truth.. it's in the name of tolerance. We will all be held accountable on how we taught this truth and lived by it. Yes we must focus on Jesus but there are many many false christs that will come. It is our duty just like Paul in 1 Timothy 1&2 to call out the false teachers.
Acts 10:38 God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, and because God was with him, he went around doing good and healing ALL who was oppressed by the devil.
God annointed us to GO out and (not pray) but HEAL the sick. . He was the happiest man that ever lived. . Dude why does God keep it a mystery when we pray for someone and they arent healed? I dont know, but i will NOT let that get in the way of what Jesus has already commanded me to do.
Amen! Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever.

Life is a battle but as Christians we need to Love Eachother and care for eachother
Fortunately we can relate to God as our Loving Heavenly Father and not as a Harsh General as some other religions view God
Thank God for Jesus

We do need to fight, however we need to love eachother as Jesus loves us.
We also need to see God as our Loving Heavenly Father who is interested in every aspect of our lives and not as a Harsh General giving orders

WOHOOO!!!

@InfiniteDivineLove Bill Johnson contradicts himself. Look up how he got sick himself when he claims he's walking with God. Be careful!
themotionaddict2 11 months ago
@themotionaddict2 You can walk with God and still be attacked with sickness. Hello! Didn't Paul the Apostle himself have eye problems?
hazelmay64 7 months ago
@hazelmay64 I totally agree. Bill Johnson claims that the sickness is not from God and that God has not allowed it. This means that God is not in control and in the same level with Satan where they have to war against eachother. This is a false gospel. All the apostles went through pain. If we cannot agree that God is in control and it's only by his permission things happen, we are denying that God is sovereign! So I agree. Sickness is allowed by God to bring God even more glory!
themotionaddict2 7 months ago
@themotionaddict2 have you ever read the beginning of the book of job ? it says that satan had to get permission from God to attack job , then once God let satan do what he wanted , jod did not turn his back on God once , not even after loosing everything and being terribly sick ! then look what happened to job when satan couldn't beat job ! God blessed Job after that with many good things ! so God is in control ! and thank you Jesus for that !
1948tc 7 months ago
@1948tc Right, so how good is the God you believe in if He gives a thief permission to rape his children? I don't think you could find a bad father who would ever give someone permission to break into their house, murder their family, and rape their children, let alone one who is good like God. Jesus never allowed or gave the devil permission to harm a single person, He is the exact representation of God's being (hebrews 1:3). Find the original Hebrew of Job, it changes everything you were told.

Christ violated the sabbath by healing the sick. The Pharisees condemned Him for it. Ask yourself this. Where in scriptiure does it say we, as His disciples , would NOT heal the sick, raise the dead and cast out demons?

Bill Johnson limits God.
themotionaddict2 1 year ago
This man does not teach the gospel of Christ saving the lost souls. Nowhere in his teaching does it talk about humility, repentance of sin or coming to the cross and dying to ourselves. He teaches the opposite of what Scripture says---that we can be 'gods' and do our will and falsely claim it is gods. I believe and have received true healing. But this Word-Faith/Prosperity gospel is a money-making scam. Steer clear of Bill's heretical teaching---he does not teach from Christ.
MyGodIsEternal 1 year ago
@MyGodIsEternal Healing was done by Christ. People who are healed are saved. I heard "Christ Saving Preaching" my whole childhood and that got me no where, it made me look like the world, no difference. Jesus healed everyone oppressed by the devil, and He charged us with the same duty as His followers. HE said we would do greater things than He.
sailingonwaves 1 year ago
@sailingonwaves wait... so does this mean that bethel people are never going to die? Cmon... Christ did not come so that we can live a healthy life here on earth. He came so that we can have eternal life with Him. I believe healings happen but we shouldn't limit God into thinking He can't do anything out of the sickness. He gives the sickness. Look at the book of Job. He gave permission to Satan. But praise God that God works all things for the good of those who love Him!! :)

amen!! very true

@themotionaddict2 he allows satan to bombard us at times because we become dependant on God in those times. God himself did NOT make Job go through what happened Satan did. If we were to live a life without tribulation we wouldn't feel the need to depend on God so this is why he allows us to go through difficult and hard to handle circumstances.
jkwasy 1 year ago
@jkwasy God does not allow Satan to bombard us. If He's going to allow Satan to bombard us, naturally He would have to be in control of Satan to do that right? The Bible says that light does cannot have fellowship with darkness. But saying God controls Satan implies that He has to have fellowship with Satan in some way, shape or form at some point. That contradicts the fact that light cannot have fellowship with darkness. God cannot use Satan because light and darkness don't mix.
blahdyblahable 1 year ago
@blahdyblahable Eliminate that does before the cannot...sorry. =)
blahdyblahable 1 year ago
@blahdyblahable God has already defeated Satan. That's why nothing can stand in his way when we let him have control. If God did not have authority over Satan then Satan would win every battle cuz his ways are easy. He allows trials to be present in our lives cuz without them we would not rely on him. God does not send Satan out on missions to torment us but if he sets out to on his own God wont stop him until we call out his name and let him have his way with the situation. He is no match for God
jkwasy 1 year ago
@blahdyblahable So you're saying that God doesn't have control over satan. Meaning God isn't in control.

There is no sickness in Heaven...how can God give something He doesn't have....
blahdyblahable 1 year ago
@blahdyblahable He doesn't have sickness but He's so powerful He uses whatever He wants to bring Him more glory. Even sickness and death.
themotionaddict2 11 months ago
@themotionaddict2 ...and moreover, anything that isn't in Heaven is not of the Lord. Sickness is the opposite from the way God intended creation to be. It is a result of sin (the fall one might say) and is not an attribute of God. How then can we say He gives sickness? Jesus said, "If your earthly fathers, being evil, give you good gifts how much more so does the Father desire to do good to you?" If good earthly fathers don't dish out bad things on their children, why would we say God does?
blahdyblahable 1 year ago
@blahdyblahable ) But when God looks at a painful, wicked even through his wide angled lens, He sees the tragedy of the sin in relation to everything leading up to it and everything flowing out of it. He sees it in relation to al the connections and effects that form a pattern, or mosaic, stetching into eternity. This mosaic in all its parts (good and evil) brings Him delight. When the universality of things was considered, the death of Jesus was seen by God as a magnificent way to demonstrate
themotionaddict2 1 year ago
@blahdyblahable His righteousness. (romans 3:25-26) and bring His people to glory (hebrew 2:10) and keep the angels praising Him forever and ever (Rev 5:9-13) If Jesus thought Him dying on the cross wasn't God's will... would He have submitted to God... or would have tried to fight satan? It says that Jesus prayed but wanted God's will be done. Wasn't it God's will for Him to be crushed so that we all may come to know the beautiful knowledge of the cross and be made alive through him??
themotionaddict2 1 year ago
@blahdyblahable Nonono.. this verse is saying that all things that the father does is good. It doesn't just mean whatever is good in our eyes will be given.. but God can see even suffering and pain as something good for us. We can learn how to hope in the 2nd coming, we can trust God in his faithfulness when we fail.. we develop fruits but yielding to the holy spirit. Who said pain and suffering isn't good for us unless God sees it as good?
themotionaddict2 11 months ago
@themotionaddict2 In concluding, if God dishes out the sickness, why then do we pray against sickness? Wouldn't that be going against God's will? One could then argue that Jesus Himself went against God's will by healing all who came to Him. If our theology says God causes sickness, then we've violated God's will by praying against sickness. Jesus did come to bring eternal life...but He also came to heal and restore. Sorry for being long winded...I felt I should explain myself well. =)
blahdyblahable 1 year ago
@blahdyblahable Explain to me this verse. Deuteronomy 28:61. The Lord will also bring on you every kind of sickness and disaster not recorded in this Book of the Law, until you are destroyed." (The Lord is speaking through Moses to the Israelites if they do not keep the Law.) Amos 3:6 "Does disaster come to a city, unless the Lord has done it?" and Job 2:10 "Shall we receive good from God, and shall we not receive evil?"
themotionaddict2 1 year ago
@blahdyblahable It's unbiblical to attribute to Satan or (sin) the power to frustrate the designs of God. God's sovereignty covers all calamities.God is sovereign and can do anything He pleases, none of His purposes can be frustrated. Psalm 115:3 "Our God is in the heavens; he does all that he pleases"everything. Lastly another verse, "Who has spoken and it came to pass, unless the Lord has commanded it? Is it not from the mouth of the MOST HIGH that good and bad come?" Job 3:37-38
themotionaddict2 1 year ago
@blahdyblahable God wills what He abhors. The clearest example that even moral evil fits into the designs of God is the crucifixion of Christ. Acts 2:23 "This Jesus, delivered up according to the definite plan and foreknowledge of God, you crucified and killed by the hands of lawlwss men." The betrayal was sin but it was part of God's ordained plan. Proverbs 16:33 "The lot is cast into the lap, but its every decision is from the Lord."
themotionaddict2 1 year ago
@blahdyblahable Matthew 10:29 "Not one sparrow will fall to the ground without your father's will. One book I would recommend you to read is "desiring God by John Piper." It talks about our infinite glorious God and the characteristics. It'll give way better illustrations that I can ever give you. I hope you continue to search and allow God to show you how He's indeed powerful and magnificent enough to use all sickness, deaths, sorrows, hurts, and pains for His glory.
themotionaddict2 1 year ago
@blahdyblahable God dishes sickness out so that we can see him move. I'm not saying God doesn't heal or can't heal. But my point is that if God is not allowing sickness who is? us in our little faith? I believe that no matter what man does, it cannot thwart the sovereignty of God. There needs to be discernment because not every sickness is caused by sin. Matthew 5:45. "He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous."
themotionaddict2 11 months ago
And plus I don't think prayer should be used to just heal the sick. I believe prayer is for us to become more intimate with God through all circumstances. Its for us to share the heart of God espeically with those that are suffering. Suffering/Pain is a part of life. If God withholds this from us, how will we truly know how to glorify God in all circumstances?
themotionaddict2 11 months ago
oh and good luck with "making" Redding, "Cancer free." I have a very strong feeling that the only reason he says this is because his own father died of cancer. would that not be an indication to him, in itself, that there is something seriously wrong with what he believes and how he percieves God?

Amoostoons 1 year ago
@Amoostoons Please understand that suffering in the context of 1 Peter 4:13 is not referring to sickness/disease but persecution by the non-believers, more specifically by the Roman government. You shouldn't just read the Bible, but should consider the context and background of each Scripture. Otherwise, you will be making a mistake of misquoting the Bible verse, just like what happened with you in your post.
cinemuse7042 1 year ago
letting it interpret itself :( So basically what ur saying is this verse has nothing to say to the typical north american Christian Because lets face it very few of us have been physically persecuted for our faith in Christ.

Oh really.

what u've done in your shortsightedness and because it's been pounded in ur head no doubt, "God doesn't want sickness, God's not allowing sickness, God can't bring sickness, God can't use sickness...

u only stand to gain in a debate... u either establish ur position more firmly (and believe it even more strongly) or u r persuaded by the other person to leave ur position for a better one. I am growing so tired of Christians who refuse to think :(
Amoostoons 1 year ago
