Hi we have a swissies here in the uk called Hagrid, he is now 17months old, watching your video saw the name karhunkierros, Hagrids Sire is Karhunkierros Corail, you can view hagrid on Facebook he is Hagrid Danger Loe! loved the clip your dogs are beautifull.
i would love to have a dog like that unfortunately there hard to find in florida i have a rottie rite now and i plan on getting a GSMD wen i move out hopefully i get one
Great video, song, dogs, and countryside! Really liked the shots of them playing in the stream - so beautiful. Swissy lovers may like our funny Swiss Mountain Dog video on our channel. Check it out. :)
@zgornjesavska Hey did you train them yourself or get it done? I want to get one as soon as I'm ready but I've been told they need to be trained. I have a dog and although he is trained we didn't really do it he's just a smart dog but I doubt that would happen with this breed, thanks.
@123RUTH123 This breed is very smart, you can teach them almost anything, especially when they are young. Brina knew most the tricks at the age of 4 months, Loyd as well. But this dogs need a lot of socialization, that is why we recommend dog school for everyone. Otherwise it is not problem to teach them some tricks by yourself ;-)
@zgornjesavska Thanks for the reply although I didn't mean they're not smart, I just meant my dog taught himself but this one might need more attention in that sense. Ok so dog school it is, thanks, appreciate it :)
Very nice spot ! I love swiss dogs, I own 2 bernese mountain dogs (male and female), they are fantastic, they love working in water as rescue dogs and pulling carts. This breed is quite popular in France now.
Great video... you obviously love your pups! I have a Rottweiler Assistance Dog but will likely choose a Swissy for my next companion. They seem like the Swiss version of the Rottie but without the prejudice. For the one comment on origins of dogs: Dobermans are a relatively new race (1890's) developed using various breeds, Rottweilers, like Swissys, are decendants of the mastiff breeds brought over the Alps by Roman armies. Both were used as cattle herders and draft dogs (to pull carts).
In fact the rott isthe result from a mix between this dog and the Dobberman. So the rott looks like this dog but with the caracter of a Dobberman. For me i prefer this dog, pure and with out the inestability that the rott has because of the mix with the Dobberman
