I believe the U.S. has only made it worse for the horses because now it still dies, but now they travel in inhumane conditions and suffer PRIOR to death. I don't like the way they slaughter an animal, cows are treated exactly the same. I don't think the slaughter houses should be blamed tho as horses are being over bred and its the owners fault for selling them at a mart anyway and not putting a reserve on them. Not many people can afford to keep them anymore. Its kinder to have them put to sleep at home if you can't keep them and can't find a home for them. Its illegal to travel horses like that in this country with no breaks.

This vid is in 98, they stopped double decker trucks last year I believe. The reason so many horses going to slaughter is because of all the backyard breeders and look at the ranches that auction off 50 to 100 horses per ranch. There are too many horses out there, and the rescues are full and they don't have the money to barely pay for the horses they have now. Really sad for the horse, and the horse loses in the end.

i bought a filly about 6 months old, she was a the slauter house, it was so sad there they sold her to us by the pound. (she was still alive people) she turned out to be the best horse ive ever owned. i had her untill last year when she got cancer and had to be put to sleep. i cried for a long while and still do. but she had a good and happy life. she was 9 when she died.

The people who eat horse meat do know where it comes from and major dog food companies use horse meat in their dog food. And I am not a cruel slaughterer. My animals are free range and get fed very well. And I kill them painlessly.

The slaughter of equine is , and always will be an issue as long as people keep breeding indiscriminately. I believe the U.S. has only made it worse for the horses because now it still dies, but now they travel in inhumane conditions and suffer PRIOR to death. If more emphasis was put on making the process more humane instead of abolishing horse slaughter all together suffering would be minimized if not bypassed altogether.We eat cows. A life is a life

my husband is Japanese and we've both eaten horse meat. he's a horse lover. I think that comment was just made up at the end of the video. I lived in Japan for 4 yrs and they're real animal lover. I think you should treat all animals the same. Their is a reason why they end up at the slaughter houses!

I don't like the way they slaughter an animal, cows are treated exactly the same. I don't think the slaughter houses should be blamed tho as horses are being over bred and its the owners fault for selling them at a mart anyway and not putting a reserve on them. Not many people can afford to keep them anymore. Its kinder to have them put to sleep at home if you can't keep them and can't find a home for them. Its illegal to travel horses like that in this country with no breaks.

by outlawing horse slaughter in the US we only made things worse for US horses. A microchip no longer assures me that my horse will not end up this way, we no longer have control of how the animals are treated or in what condition they travel.
If you want to stop horse slaughter, STOP BREEDING!!!

This vid is in 98, they stopped double decker trucks last year I believe. The reason so many horses going to slaughter is because of all the backyard breeders and look at the ranches that auction off 50 to 100 horses per ranch. There are too many horses out there, and the rescues are full and they don't have the money to barely pay for the horses they have now. Really sad for the horse, and the horse loses in the end.

Why do they do this!? first they capture the horse ,take it away from it home THEN they put shoes and saddles on them and put them in lots of competitons and the horses didnt do ANYTHING to them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The "WRONG" part scared the crap out of me! First of all, the volume on my speakers were very loud. Second, I get very frightend and nervous when I'm watching a horse slaughter video l've never seen before. Here I am watching the video in horror, waiting to see something scary and BOOM! You know they do this to other animals, too. Not JUST horses. Think about all the Cows, Chickens, Turkeys, Pigs, and Fish that were sent here and died in hell. Why only feel sorry for the horses? Why are they different? Yeah they might be prettier but they have the same feelings...that's why I'm a vegetarian. :):)

The comment i posted just then was before it started getting really bad. I just watched the rest and as soon as i saw that horse lying down weak on the trailer i juts burst into tears. I watched up to where the horse was shot and i couldnt stand it anymore. I am crying my eyes out!!! :'( how could people be such fuck-wits!???

i bought a filly about 6 months old, she was a the slauter house, it was so sad there they sold her to us by the pound. (she was still alive people) she turned out to be the best horse ive ever owned. i had her untill last year when she got cancer and had to be put to sleep. i cried for a long while and still do. but she had a good and happy life. she was 9 when she died.
