this sequel was flat and uninspired. I thought it was funnier, but it just didn't get off the ground like the original. The original just goes onward and upward
rick rocked as the 5th ghostbuster to bad rick was not in the ghostbusters
videogame only louis tullys desk that appeared i loved both films i have
both movies on laserdisc and the first picture on blu ray and umd.
i also seen this at cinemas it was great but i was way young to see the first one at cinemas but i did see it on movie night at boarding school but i love them both.
looooook. i just re-watched GB1, prefect movie. But i get sooooo pissed when people diss GB2. Granted the second one isnt as good as the first....but really...sequels are very rarely ever better. We are soooooooo lucky that the sequel was at least good, most sequels are terrible. we lucked out world, we lucked out.
lol around 1:30 ernie hudson says i am amazed how long a film like this can be populair. well pal, i bet u never thought back then it would be a legend and a classic.!
@mustang6172 Yeup that was the deleted scene where Ray got possessed by Vigo and tried to kill everyone in the car. A piece of that scene is during the montage of them showing, "We're back" driving through the streets of NY catching ghosts.
I like the second one a little more then the first but i think that was because they seem to base it more on the cartoon and i seen the cartoon before i seen the films. The Court part is my fave bit. :D
i reckon number 2 is more scarier than number 1 espacialy the court scene when the chairs start flying up and getting closer to them that scared me when i was a kid but i loved it
Actually if you listen to the comentary of the first movie, Harold Ramis said that he thought part I was too scary for kids he even says how parents came up to him asking if this was something they could take their kids to see and he said no. Example when the terror dogs grabed Dana in th chair he was worried that that was too scary for kids.
It's kind of frightening that 8-year-old me was walking around New York while they were filming this. Especially since the opening scene was fillmed one block from my apartment...
Of course, 3-year-old me was in NYC while they were making the first one, but that seems more distant, since I don't remember Fall 1983 very much.
i think the series would have been a ridiculous hit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thats the greatest idea ever, every Thursday night ghostbusting! WOW im surprised they didnt think of that
i think the roughness for the third movie raised tensions between them, none of them communicate at all, they cant stand to be in the same room as one another. so CGI is the only way to go, BUT if its 100% CGI i will die, i like the 50/50 like 300 was. that would be cool. because bringing in new people would be like an extreme ghostbusters movie, and i would kinda hate that idea.
cinematicly speaking i do as well, but for comedy the 1st has it beat by far. It was a comedy while number 2 was graphics sci fi and action. but i am a ghosthead forever!
Wow. I envy the cast, the crew and everyone else who was a part of this film. It must have been a great experience being around so many awesome people.
the only problem i would have with a new movie would be if they changed ecto 1a and there wouldnt be any bobby brown, which kinda made the second one along with the ecto 1a
I agree with you! In terms of the TMNT ... they started off animated in the TV series... so going to CG for them is really a step up from their origins. But starting in live action and going to animation (in my opinion) is a step down from the origin.
The way i see it is.. Harold Ramis is the oldest of the 4 guys at about 64 years old... Sly Stallone is only 2 years younger & still kickin ass. Ghostbusters is not a heavily physical film for the guys.. if sly can make a comeback so can they!
Ghostbusters II is quoted even more by my friends than the original. It was just a little more hip than the first, and the baddie had some killer lines. I love this series so much, and look forward to Ghostbusters III (on whatever system looks good) next year!
mmmkay...cuz when TMNT was brought back only half my wish came true- cuz it was CGI and not live action lol. And yea Bill Murray and all them are much older but def not nursing home old...if anything I wouldnt mind new characters doing the field work just as long as all the original guys come back...and now my next wish to bring somthing back is beetlejuice lol
i agree 10 tmnt the new movie was an abomination and all traces of it should be burned i cant wait till the ghostbusters game but if they ever decide to make a ghostbusters 3 film and they do it in cgi i will have lost all faith in mankind lol
The game IS GB3. Dan tryd to get the film going but the studio wasnt having it. So he pitched to the game developers and guess what prefect match. The game is going to be the closest thing we will get to busting ghosts.
ya i know that but some idiots keep saying there is gonna be a cgi movie which would suck dan went through allot to try and get part 3 made and hes using elements from the script he wrote and going over it with harold ramis to make the script for the game

How did the UK DVD miss this?
DirectedBySteve 10 months ago
@DirectedBySteve
well maybe it was the rights issue at the time
they only could get the trailer but in the 2005
reissued dvd of ghostbusters 2 included two episodes
of the real ghostbusters cartoon but maybe in time
they will get around to do a four disc edition of both
ghostbusters films .
FRANKIESHANOWSKIY2K0 7 months ago
I always liked how they upped the scare factor in GB2. I remember seeing it in theaters, and people were scared shitless by the painting.

I think GB2 was a film more oriented to kids , The Real GB cartoon was a hit back then, so the 2nd film was more to that audience.
I totally think GB 1 is a more mature film.
ArgoteMasterChief 2 years ago 3
Yeah dead right. I was a kid when GB 2 came out and loved it! A little soft compared to the 1st film. All great!
arc20051 2 years ago
I agree Vigo was a scary villian. But ironically, most people I heard who complain about GB2 say it's more of a kiddy film than the 1st one.

Good Lord, is Annie Potts sexy....
The twin babies in the film are nephews of the late singer John Denver.
What a horrible reimaginging of the Ghostbusters song by Run-DMC. The only song from the soundtrack I remember liking was "Spirit" by Doug E. Fresh.
