They considered Ricky Medlocke ab original member. They need at least two original members to acually be "Lynyrd Skynyrd" Medlocke has been with them ever since the beginning, he just wasn't in the band.

most of them. the only one still alive from the original band is Gary Rossington who is one of the guitar players.

Gary is not the only one still alive from the original band. Ed King(guitar), Bob Burns(drums) and Atimus Pyle(drums) are also still alive but they don't play with the current band.

The solo at Freebird was the best I ever have heard. And I have follow Lynyrd Skynyrd since early 70`s. :-)
