So I don't understand? Is the purpose to let the dogs just torture the coon? If you want to kill it, wouldn't you just shoot it like a normal person? Or shoot it once the dogs find it?

@Blown4banger that is the way it happens sometimes. the coon was shot out of the tree with a .22 lr. sometimes they come out stone dead. and sometimes one shot will bring it out still alive. when they come out alive the dogs grab it and kill it.
