@sukazu152 ("...the musician adds little things to the solo its not the written solo"): In the baroque and classical periods soloists in concerti were expected to add embellishments to their written part, not to play only what was in the written score. mastery of the art of embellishment (something on which a number of leading musicians of the period wrote treatises) was regarded as an essential part of a performing musician's repertoire.
The music is divine, but the pictures distract me from enjoying it fully. I wish they would change at a different pace, in synchrony with the music. They change too fast in my opinion....
Albinoni is my favorite classical muscicien, there is so much emotions in all his compositions. I relate especially to his adagio as if it was the story of my life in music. Thanks for this compilation. Irise
I love the Albinoni oboe's Concertos, but i'm looking for the third movement of the oboe concerto in G minor. Somebody would know something about this?
@Wanadoru i play the oboe too :) Can you tell me which grade does this piece belongs too? I've passed my Grade8 last year...but i still haven't played this piece before...and i just love this piece
an extraordinary melody, one of the best written for this enchanted instrument, composed towards 1722 and published in Amsterdam, pure baroque and with the sweet sound of the oboe, a superb combination
could you tell me the EXACT instrumentation for this piece? I already bought the scores but I can't tell wheter the bass section has contrabass, continuo, cellos or a combination of these..
it is wonderful, but adagio remains his greatest creation

@FishEaster It's definitely not too fast. The tempo is just about what Albinoni would have expected.

I only heard about Albinoni when he was composer of the week on BBC Radio 3. It was love at first hearing. I've got three CDs on order now.

Classic music is eternal because of it's
deep,perfect beauty.the term"concerto" was
first used in Rome in 1519,meaning "to unite",to come together,to agree".
Here the sweet sounds of the oboe and the strings assure harmony and peace
to the soul, i can here it for hours.
The splendid images of Venice are so
compatible.

I'm a grad student of musicology and this is the best recording I've heard of Albinoni's oboe concerti. The ornamentation is exquisite.

I heard about him only today..
I bought Yngwie Malmsteen's CD and his name was there as one of his biggest influence.
Albinoni's music is amazing.
