The choice to do something if you want to, like paying the medical bill for someone who needs the help. The government shouldn't tell me who to pay the medical bills for.

A Public option is all about equality and the fact that those who dont have a job where they earn 150.000 Dollar a month can get health insurance as well. You simply deny your fellow countrymen the basic rights of equal treatment in the Health insurance sector with your refusal to pay a small tax for the good of every American.

You're right on the equality issue. We do have the same opportunity that everyone does. The problem is not everyone wants to take advantage of opportunity. The saying "when opportunity knocks" means that you have to open the door when the knock is there. People are afraid to take chances. We have to make our own decisions, not the government saying that the heart transplant that could save your life costs too and won't happen because of cost, even if you could personally pay for it.

I only pay $100 per month and I'm fat, that's a pre existing condition, my family has a history of heart conditions, high blood pressure, diabetes and my mother has had cancer, that puts the odds against me in being insured. I would rather pay for myself out of my own pocket, than someone who won't work or even try to find a job. I already pay for welfare, medicare, medicaid, but I shouldn't be. I'm fed up of those that get on welfare and never get off
