  • love these guys and this song.

  • Just played this on Austin City Limits - check your local PBS listings!

  • Reminds me of mumford and suns

  • @MayMAY78690 except much better

  • hey paul !!!ya hear that ??its called musical talent....

  • glad i found out the title of this song. i first heard this on snl and couldn't stop thinking about it. this is beautiful.

  • They're July performance in Oregon was both magical and unforgettable. Absolutely perfect.

  • I think they'd rather you sing more.

  • just like Primus made me not want to play an instrument ever again, Fleet Foxes make me not want to try to sing harmonies ever again- They sound awesomePERIOD

  • Give my cover, with clarinets and flute and bódhran, a try! Check it out on my profile's page...

  • I fucking hate 240p now lol

  • ok the one kid who disliked this band...Go listen to your jonas brothers collection you gay boy. We dont want you to waste your time, cause clearly its wasteing ours.

  • @GraditudevsRevenge seriously...just seeing that one person disliked this...it makes me SO angry. I am in love with fleet foxes, and everyone should be in love with them

  • impressive

  • This song is how life should feel.

  • @rodrigogrohl Oh my gosh a perfect comment. Yes.

  • bravi

  • i love this guys voice.

  • Great song

    and great singer

  • i love themm!!! <3

  • They quickly became one of my favourite bands. Beutiful music. Grate for being outdoors!(:

  • I love being a part of something so few people know about, I feel like it's my own to love. I think it's kind of stupid though how hypocritical people are when everyone is saying stuff like "be your own person" but whenever someone does something out of the ordinary people freak out

  • this might sound funny, but does any find the lead singer looks abit like dave grohl? not completely, but somewhat? just he has lighter hair and such.

  • i love the way they use piano in this song.

  • I'm so glad JR Celski tweeted about this song. It's amazing! :)

  • Wow! Finally a good new band!

  • it is pretty much what you dig. i saw these guys in madison wi doing a free show at a venue on the lake at the university. flipping great.

  • Man, I'm hoping that they go on a 2010 tour so bad. If they come to Boston, I am there.

  • @jorgeboybrushred This is poetry, Gaga is shallow dance swill.

  • people like you are the reason terrible music is popular.

  • This just gets better every time I listen to it.

  • I wonder why our beliefs make us stick things into categories, or seperate ideologies? All art, among other things are all branches on the same tree, leaves on the same limbs, And when they fall off of the tree, there still not physically seperate, Theres still a connection at a subtle level. Art channels this gift, thank you for it.

  • fleet foxes are so original

  • fuck rap, people these days just " follow "

    real music= fleet foxes

  • but perhaps we are just following what we think is cool, it may not be rap, but sub pop. don't get me wrong, i love the fleet foxes, but its something to think about.

  • yeah you are absolutely right, there is no right or wrong

  • attack attack is for scene small dick little pussies

    fleet foxes is real music

  • your a stupid waste of taxpayer money

  • screw any other Letterman performance ever

  • the killers-dustland fairytale.

    other than that.

    agreed.

  • This is the most beautiful song. I saw them live and they are better suited to small intimate venues. I hope their success does not encroach on or compromise their unique artistic greatness....

  • I'm sure it won't. They're some pac Northwest mother fuckers man.

  • i agree with you 100% seeing them play big stadiums would be quite strange, an not suit their sound at all.

  • incredible

  • I'm glad they're getting back to the roots of good music. The foxes are fleet indeed.

  • Love this band. They remind of Crosby, Stills, Nash Young with an indie rock touch.

  • yes totally i agree 100 % wow first time i used that symbol on my keyboard anyways FF ftw

  • Oh my god i totaly have compared them to csny before. i saw fleet foxes live and it was the most excellent moment of my life.

  • Beards!

  • does anyone else think this is like GRIZZLY BEAR?

in a good way. not like a rip. that would be bad

  • of course, they nearly have the same genre

  • no.

  • yeah mabe i just think that because they are both folk

  • just saw this on snl repeat ,

come to the regina folk fest (41 or 42)

    PLEASE.

    What an awesome sound. !!

  • the singer just look like Jesus!!

  • Robin has an awesome voice, but he looks dave grohl

  • Their music NEVER gets old.....

The chord they nail on the first syllable of the word "forest" is stunning.

  • This band gives me faith that good music isn't dead.

  • Fleet Foxes makes me want to run around naked in the woods. High.

  • I deeply feel the same, i think i might make a short film based on that.

  • @yoshimisrobot

Weird coincidence... I often run around naked in the woods high. After I first heard the Fleet Foxes, I quit dope, bought a suit and got a job in a bank.

  • @yoshimisrobot yeah dude, i live in the appalachian mountains in tennessee, i DO run around naked in the woods, high.

  • Comment removed

  • @yoshimisrobot definitely must be high.

  • @yoshimisrobot Forever.

  • @yoshimisrobot Lol Wordd.

  • @yoshimisrobot WITCHCRAFT! (sorry my class just read the Crucible.... I had to)

  • they have such an "older" flavor to their music, it's breathless. i was in born in the 90s and i feel like it takes me to a different era, a different decade.

  • Haha OK. It's definitely been AGES since mmj's debut.

  • this song gives me nostalgic impulses if that makes any sense

  • are they related? i cant imagine any other way their voices would sound so good together!

  • is it just me or do Fleet Foxes' sounds almost like My Morning Jacket. I have to say, Robin(the lead singer), sounds so much like MMJ

  • the singer kind of sounds like the main singer of my morning jacket, but 10000x better, even though the singer of MMJ isnt bad at all

  • it's incredible that this is live, they are flawless

  • anyone who has soul feels this. The Fleet Foxes are my new obsession. God, they were just born to sing and play together.

The music goes together SO WELL like nothing ive ever heard.

     Its music for healing.

I love this song, and Ragged Wood. <3

  • Absolutely! I can't imagine my life without their music in it

  • Best Seattle band since Nirvana.

    I love these guys!

  • This song stopped me in my tracks. I cannot recall the last time a simple song haunted my soul.

  • definitely some implementation of folk as well

  • It's called 'Baroque pop' or 'baroque rock', which isn't nearly as stupid/pretentious as it sounds. Great song.

  • what is kind of music??

  • sorry i have to post again koolandy what is wrong with you. you make absolutely no sense. everyone koolandy is one of these people with 98 iqs i mentioned before just so you know. what the hell does the popularity of something have to do with this song and especially knowing geography which is even less relevant go listen to disturbed and get the fuck outta here

  • it's simple because the average person has an i.q of 98 and people with low iqs like bad music. everything including music is based on supply and demand the unsophisticated minds of the masses would rather rot their ears with the mainstream shit tha you hear every time you turn the radio on. more great music to listen to DR DOG

  • Totally, brother.

Dr. Dog is where its at. Very Beatles-ey.

  • Why can't all music be this good?

  • When robin looks up when he sings 'but Sean don't get callous', i bet hes looking at his bro in the audience.

  • gosh, they are just..so SO so gooood.....

I love this song. My fav off the album <3

  • I really love them

  • Awesome!

  • This is the best song I have heard in a long time.

  • There is somthing a little bit Battle of Evermore about this song its great what a great group these guys are.

    Namaste

  • yet i guarantee theyve never been to the blue ridge mountains, all these western bands trying to be all southern, sigh

  • i bet they have. sorry southern dude but the blue ridge mountains arent exactly famous. i live in florida and have never heard of them. just cause your are from out west doesnt mean you cant understand or kno geography of s.e. usa

  • To koolandy.. If you live in FL and have never heard of the Blue Ridge or Appalachian mountains then surely your grade school geography book was lacking somewhat. I grew up in sw VA in the midst of the Blue Ridge Mountains but certainly learned about the Rockies and other mountains. Yeah, I even learned about FL, too.

  • @eireseeker well its said that 15% of americans cant locate the USA on a world map ..so i suppose the Blue Ridge mtns and Appalachians are a bit of a struggle for some ...wtf !!!I live in australia and know where they are!!

but that aside what a great song ...seeing them in Jan ..cant wait,,

  • hey i live in the blue ridge mountains. they can exploit this area all they want if they are going to produce music like this.

  • I'm jealous. I drove through last month and it was by far the prettiest site I've seen in this country

  • they are amazing live!!! wow! 1:21 is a great breakdown

  • Do you mean at 1:23 where other instruments come into play, punctuated by the riff created by the mandolin? For the musical instrument savvy folks, that is a mandolin, right?

  • yeah

  • @icarus486

yes its a mandolin, if you are still interested 1 year later :)

  • @icarus486 Yeah that sure is a mandolin

  • @icarus486 fuck you

  • fuckin love them!

  • What a great performance. One of my favorite songs on their album.

  • @ 1.43 ...the harmony this brilliant band create is truly spine tingling...

  • I keep watching these, and have probably commented on this particular video a few times already. It is just nice to watch Fleet Foxes videos and see all the respectful and wonderful comments. It really seems like there are so few bands out there that attract true music fans.

Go watch a hard rock or rap video and read the comments. I can't say I want to be associated with those people. When I read the comments here I sit and think "man, I could be friends with these people!".

  • Haha I totally understand what you mean. I have got to say it's really cool to finally see people who enjoy the same music that I do! If only this could be translated to real life. Unfortunately, no one around me really understands my love for Fleet Foxes!

  • try to play this on guitar... fun!!

  • It's in DADGAD

  • this sounds very trippy in a way..i cant seem to find the words, but they can play a wonderful piece live

  • they sound brilliant to me as well... what kills me is that people dont realize the amount of post production that goes into an album, so for a band to sound this good live is a true testament to their talent. Fleet foxes is one of the most brilliant bands in the last 10 years.

  • I agree with you 100% they sound as if there was no post-production whatsoever. Amazing!

  • they sounds pretty fuckin spot on to me in terms of their album. i think its one of those bands that you need to be there and hear live. youtube vid doesnt do them justice. great band, great song.

  • Art. plain and simple.

  • its just you. every video ive seen they harmonize very well.

  • Man that response is well rude and isn't even accurate. It's these guys' live vocals that really made me prick my ears up. I've been a musician for 15 years and these guys' intonation is incredible. Can't wait to hear them live

  • I love this song my fave on the album

  • nice

  • i love this shit!

  • Kurt died years ago for this band. Behold, the saviour walks this earth. All of you need to recognize love is real and given unto you. We are passing the through the tail of a comet of thruths, which unrealized will smash upon our faces, and render unto us obliteration. Take heed, the sword sheethed will unleashed writher like a serpent and become a sword of judgement by unteathered hands, and for those who know no love for each other will perish at the sides of their most hated enemies.

  • sorry, the respondant was actually JthunderC. Not goodman, borrowed my roomies PC. sERIOUSLY THOUGH these cats have a heavenly harmony, and the guy really looks like the JC, and...you know, shits getting real these days, so love each other, and act in each others best interests, cause reckoning and failure to do so is hard to take back. You know, Bush really somewhere deep down cared, but he became lost as well. One line to take away of any from this band: "Brother, you needn't turn me away".

  • im sorry, you lost me somewhere after 'kurt'. care you explain in slightly less biblical terms?

  • what he said isn't even in the bible.....

  • I don't get it.......what did all that you (bgoodman 1177) just said have to do with Fleet Foxes.?

  • What baffles me most is you guys taking what bgoodman said seriously. He's just either rambling on, spewing nonsense; or, letting his stream of consciousness out adrift.

  • tasty, awesome squared, and great

  • Only on my 50th+ play of this video/song. I got the vinyl album on the way. So good.

  • awesome!

  • Why does this comment get so many thumbs down...didn't seem vulgar, insulting, or anything of the sort. It seemed to praise the natural, perfectly simple nature of the song.

  • camden roundhouse ! holla

  • tasty awesome and great

  • great

  • Looking forward to seeing these guys at Marion Bay Falls Festival.

  • Tasty and awesome.

  • awesome!!

  • tasty.
