i was so happy when i heard there is going to be a movie about this wonderful book but when i informed about it i was pretty much pissed off...

Diaz as Sara... ok i can live with that...

But Campbell? in the book he is something around 35... and in the movie? what the hell...

no julia?what's that?Judge De Salvo a woman.. well no comment...

If i they have changed the ending as many of you said - i hope i wont hate this movie

In my opinion, if Dakota Fanning was a serious actress, she would have shaven her head for a role. I mean jeez, it grows back! Oh well, we'll see how it goes :)

I dont get why any actress who plays Kate should have to shave her head... Kate dosent currently have APL so she isnt on chemo she is just on dialiasis and maybe platelets, even in the "2002 Sara" flashback ahe dosent have a APL. And when Anna discribes Kate she says something like she has think blond hair that reaches her sholders... for some reason i can find the exact words but im sure its there.

isnt it the flash back when she is younger that she has no hair and that her mum shaves her head.

I thought that they were all bald at some stage, Kate from the chemo in the flashback and Anna and their mum shaved their heads too to make her feel better.

Love the book I'm guna be pissed if they ruin it....

I am VERY unhappy with some of the desisions they have made for the film.....

1. I dont like the choices for Sara and Campbell.

2. I dont like the fact that they got rid of Julia and got a Judge instead.

3.Campbell is to old the chose a good actor but to old.

4. I will be severly PISSED if it is true that they are going to change the end. I love the end so much..... its so sad but so right for the plot.

not happy at all with diaz... she is a comedy person. she has a whole dif persona.

and the reason dekota isnt doing it is cause she wouldnt shave her hear... she is also to young. although her a elle would have made it perfect cause elle is fantastic... love dekota too but elle is better and they are so cute together and look alike

I think the characters are perfect. I wouldn't have picked a better role for Kate and Anna Fitzgerald. Abigail Breslin is perfect as opposed to Elle and Dakota Fanning since those two are both too young. In the book Anna is supposed to be 13, Abigail is close, she's 12... and I believe the new cast for Jesse is Evan Ellingson.

The whole point to my comment was that Dakota and Elle didn't fit the age group to play the parts for Kate and Anna Fitzgerald. Dakota was to play Kate, all in which she will be perfect since Kate is 16 in the book, however, Elle is too young to play Anna since Anna is described as a 13 year old who's taller and muscular from playing hockey. Which, in the end, I find it more comforting to find Sofia Vassilieva and Abigail Breslin to play the parts.

i'm sorry, but i am really, REALLY dissappointed witht the girl who they chose to play kate. even anna isnt what i imagined.

haha i wish that elle and dakota fanning hadn't dropped the movie, after reading the book i found out that they were origonally in for the roles and they are really close to how i imagined the characters to be.

My main problem is Joan Cusack. She doesn't fit the role! Can you really see her with pink hair and a twin sister?

Everyone else is basically ok in my eyes (decently passible), especially Thomas Decker, he looks perfect.

btw if they screw up this movie and its nothing like the book i'm gonna be pissed cuz this is a pretty difficult book/movie transition

Abigail Breslin is not the right actress to play the role. Dakota Fanning and her sister would have been way better.

I completely agree. I don't think that Abigail Breslin will be able to adapt to the role. I think Cameron Diaz may be able to pull off the role as Sara. She is a very talented acress although she would not be my first choice. I think that Alec Baldwin however did fit his role well.
