That's not the PS3's fault, its actually a handshake failure between the HD TV and the HDMI on the PS3. It is most probably the cables fault, that is used to hook up the two.
as of 08 paradise online and cod4 and half life on ps3 online with broad band is way best. I had an xbox and it was inferior, not a true dedicated console like ps3. Frame rate is more important in my opinion and ps3 is smooth as silk and most games properly optimised like gt5 prologue and burnout paradise ps3.

the graphics are better on a hd tv but make sure you get game mode in game mode it will give you a much better quality of gaming. and the older tv's without hd they can handle games better because of there core.i have got a 1080p tv and my sister has got 720p its best to get 1080p but if you do not really play on them often get 720p if you get one get with game mode.

When it is 100% that it works ok and got Better Graphics than X360 (so far i doubt it) And some kick ass Games out Then i might get one .

No sinlander, that is most definitely the console. Games do not artifact like that, overheating hardware does that. Try gaming on a PC with an overclocked video card and not enough cooling, you'll see that the game that is otherwise fine is now messed up.

Historically New release consoles are about this price. If you scaked the NES to todays dollars it would have cost 400 bucks, the atari 2600 would be like 600 bucks, and the intellivision would be 700

1.Cost: $500.00 - $600.00 at the moment is too much for a gaming system. It may be more then just a gaming system, but I already have a DVR, DVD Player, MP3 / Internet Radio Player etc... so the other functionality offers me nothing new and will most likely go unused.

zbeast can argue for ventillation all he wants, but the fact remains. Sony crammed so much bullcrap into that system that it does a piss-poor job of cooling. The system literally needs to be pampered to keep it cool. Expect a recall, these things are burning up.

The store failed to provide the ps3 adequate cooling inside there lock box.
Let me lock you in a car on a summers day with the windows rolled up and lets see how well you preform.
All of these new boxes need Lot's of air.
Stop the fan on your computers graphics card and you'll see the same graphics errors for a little before the card blows.
