  • Where else but Youtube can I go for a nice atmospheric tune while reading people criticize other's taste in Music, Beer, Religion and just about everything else....Accept the fact that these are things that are figured out by the individual.....what, you scared that their opinions don't match yours? Need validation from others that YOUR OWN OPINIONS are valid? Fuck you. Have a nice day.

  • 240p. Really, Relapse?

  • UNNNNDERWEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAR

  • my mates just cant understand how i find this so relaxing, even intoxicating hey

  • New band to me. The instrumentation's really cool for sure. The coarseness of the singing at the beginning was kinda off-putting, though...

  • Also, violin = incredible

  • They remind me of Mastodon, just more prog.

  • @Transcedant Mastodon should remind you of Neurosis

  • @Transcedant Really? Cuz Mastodon got to be quite proggy haha

  • RTR!

  • particularly the 8:00 mark. FUCK.

  • the ending to this song rips my goddamned head clean off, and shoves it up my asshole.

  • @AllAmericanJake21 mastodon def learned alot about singing from neurosis and its paid off

  • Anyone know the chords for this?:)

    Cheers

  • i wanna hear Beyonce's version of this song.

  • 14 people see Chad Kroeger on Youtube and jerk off to his beautiful golden locks.

  • My first experience with this music was on LSD and extacy. Jeez. Life changing to say the least...

  • @drewmcdrex really thought i was ON acid when i first heard this, especially the end, 8:00 or so.

  • i dont think my brain can handle their live performances...

  • its hard to imagine a more intense and honest kind of music

  • UNDER THE WAVES, ALL HAS BEEN SAID

  • 14 people obviously suck ass....

  • dioboia i neurosis e son simpri i neurosis !!!

  • Great, reminds me of Katatonia :)

  • Sounds like a young depressed Tom Waits

  • Dear NickelbackOwnz, Youtube is trying to get you to find better music. This is better music.

    Your fellow Youtuber, - AManOnACamel.

PS: Nickelback is AX7 for bros.

PSS: Thats not a good thing.

  • @NickelbackOwnz this is good music lil buddy. recamended ? you mean recommended ? sure you do. why ya telling people to fuck you! eh widdle bucky ? just because they don't have your same sense of bullshit rock ? NickelbackOwnz....here i thought i had a stupid screen name. lolololololol !!!

  • @NickelbackOwnz fuck you.

  • I almost had a accident a few days a go, and this music so relaxed me after that! Thank you Neurosis

  • @rosettastoned451 Man i get that same feeling, each and every time. Wtf?? Is it some sort of physiological response to the Neurosis vibe? I don't get the urge to ram my foot on the gas if i listen to blastin death metal, you know what i mean? Plain odd.

  • <3

  • where are they now? to move me six inches is like six feet under, pushed by the tide.

  • -sounds the Troll horn of Gondor-

  • UGH!

  • So rough yet so smooth

  • Best band ever, except Nickelback of course.

  • @vaedjan I laughed!

  • @vaedjan haahahahahahaha

  • @vaedjan This song reminds me of Pink Floyd.

  • @vaedjan Excuse me but the reason why Neurosis has a more profound style than Nickelback due the simple reason they play with faith and put soul into their work.Nickelback on the other hand is pseudo

  • A genre is just a word. You can't sum up the people in neurosis, their ideas, the circumstances in which this was made, and the sounds that came out by putting a word over it. That's abstract BS. Let the journalists handle that stuff.

  • @Sidar654231

I like to think the point of a journalist is a bit more complex than assigning a genre tag and moving on...

It takes a certain poetry to describe a "sound."

  • @myhigherpie2

Haha! I do hope they have a better point than that, yeah! No need though. They're usually either describing what you already know for money, or making personal poetry out of something that everybody has their own poetry about... for your money. I find using words to describe sounds and feelings a funny thing. Useful thing. Cool thing. But mostly funny thing.

Look down, look up, now back to me. I am real. And if you stopped using words as dress up, you might look like me.

  • @Sidar654231

Any critic who looks at something with a passionate eye knows that it's basically self-fulfilling personal creativity released to the masses, though a bit more shallow in scope than the act of actually creating art.

I personally find enjoyment when I read a review from the perspective of someone who really understands and feels what makes something truly special. That alone gives them a much greater point to me as a person.

Being a critic is like a hobby, sort of x)

  • @myhigherpie2

True! I agree with you. Even King Crimson had it happen that the critic got what they were doing so well that they only got it themselves after they read his article. But that's my- not a problem, per se, just.. it seems funny to me that the critics only seem to do good when they 'get' it. Of course, to appreciate that, you have to 'get' it too. Or, you have to have an open mind that would've been willing to get it anyway. So critics are at best stepping stones. Making money.

  • @Sidar654231

    Agreed :)

I've always put artistic integrity ahead of everything else. Unfortunately the same thing can't be said about all forms of art anymore. If feelings aren't being put into art, then how can critics 'get it' when there is nothing to get? In a perfect world, where everything was driven by true ambition and not by greed then maybe critics would have more of a purpose than another source of currency for the almost entirely useless 'entertainment industry.'

  • @myhigherpie2

Haha, agreed. Being true is what it's all about. I wouldn't view it too rigid though. Or intellectualize it. Integrity is just a word, just like 'hardcore', but I revere it just like you. You stay real and true by not getting fake shit in your head. People ain't their thoughts, you know what I mean? People are just what they do.

  • The most amazing

  • mad, dark .... and gorgeous ...

  • This is, without a doubt, one of the best songs I've heard in my life.

  • 13 people are idiots and/or Nickelback fans. Take your pick.

  • @Filosofemme13 deaf nickelback fans

  • So heavy, so fucking deep.

  • If there was a god, there would not be a Nickelback video in the "suggestions" section.

  • @ironantlers1213 but at least now some nickelback fans might chance upon some good music in the suggestions? or is that not how it works?

  • @ironantlers1213 ..theres a limp bizkit 'rollin' video.,.. lol

  • @bosshallucy Limp Bizkit and Nickleback - who decides these things?

  • @ironantlers1213 or limp bizkit

  • @ironantlers1213

Well... I have Miley Cirus :(

  • @ironantlers1213

In your opinion, could be "Enchanting Odyssey" of Ivy Garden Of The Desert in that section?

  • @ironantlers1213 it`s a video of a guy critisizing Nickelback... :)

  • @CityGuitarist So maybe there is a God after all!.

  • @ironantlers1213 there isnt

  • @ironantlers1213 Best thing I have seen commented on anything all week.

  • @ironantlers1213 I don't see one, so he might have arrived

  • @ridethehogie NO GOD ! looks towards the bottom > .. loool

  • @ironantlers1213

looks like he noticed your comment :D

  • Why in the blue Hell is fucking Nickleback and Limp Bizkit in the related videos?! Fuck!

  • neurosis is amazing, i loved this album and enemy of the sun best...'are you lost'?

  • Where are they now? They are gone. I saw them run, run to the sea. Under the waves all has been said. Their voices are free. Free from the sun's stare, free from the noise of lost souls. An exiled sound washed in with the tide. Their voices are free. Free from the sun's stare, free from the noise of lost souls. On the waves their voice carries on.
  • i sit in a dark room and stare at what i think is the wall--altho its dark i can make out shapes like when you close your eyes--theyre like shadow demons that dance the archaic dance of lost souls...then i suddenly think about my past--its like watching one of those old 9mm reels that flicker--i see myself as a small kid hunting possums

  • they make me poop and screw slow

  • From this album,i simply love this one & Stones From the Sky

  • Neurosis is great

  • deep

  • 11 people without taste

  • under the waves, all has been said

  • Why is Nickelback being discussed here? I herd of them, but never herd them. I just checked out a couple of there videos and they were god awful. Is there some "good" breakout song or something, because I can't seriously see how they got signed. If they do have a good song, they should have stuck wit being a one hit wonder.

  • :O... Beautiful!

  • Comment removed

  • Watching them grow from inception (Alchemy Records, Lookout, and on... )

    Still one of my favorites.

  • This is so fucking awesome.

  • this song reminds me of opioids.

  • love this track!! love neurosis!! lml

  • this songs makes the hair on my neck stand up. i feel like im looking out over the sea

  • @HAZCLOWNS though I agree that Nickelback do suck, are you seriously implying that Neurosis are "Post Grunge?" Plus, despite your opinions of this band, saying they suck is a bit ridiculous, considering they are the most influential band of this genre.... even the band Isis admit they are emulating Neurosis' sound.

  • @DenOfWhasps nickel back dont suck this song sux ass and tha band sux ass rock and country are tha best kinds of music there is

  • @countryboi2009 you're clearly either a moron, 15 years old or both. There is nothing 'country' about Nickelback. In fact, all they are is a bunch of Alice In Chains wanna be, no talent, 3 chord fags. Shit, Jerry Cantrell's debut album was more 'country' than Nickelback, and it's not even country. If you're gonna have a hard on for country/rock hybrid bands, at least explore some southern rock or some southern metal, you fucking tool.

  • @countryboi2009 Oh really and where did you learn that little bitch?

  • @countryboi2009 *facepalm you fail so hard

  • @countryboi2009

Go fuck your sister or something. Goddamn...

  • @HAZCLOWNS Ohohohoh you little wana be slut NEUROSIS is Post metal and Sludge Metal you do not know what you are listening no wonder all the people here hate you!

  • @blackmanorigins Erm... It is Atmosperic Sludge. =/.

  • i wanna cry this is so damn good, and good quality for youtube!!!

  • SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL

  • fuck beer fuck politics lets listen to NEUROSIS

  • @AndrewFilmsInc fuck off straight edge bitch I saw your little sly propaganda effort

  • @PosthumanNeuronaut what the hell man i was just sick of them arguing about beer. Any propaganda i included was unintentional.

  • Ahhh the textures !

  • The sound quality is better then usual for youtube.

  • Free from the sun's stare!

Free from the noise... of lost souls...

  • where are they now?? I have no idea.. LOL

  • i think scott kelly spends more time with shrinebuilders nowadays

  • probly chillin wit satan sum where smokin a bowl :D

  • Beautiful. Too bad that their new album will only be released next year.. it should be in 2010 to celebrate their 25's years of existence. One of the greatest band ever!!

  • where did you hear of a new album?

  • @corb1776 you should be able to find that on any metal magazine.. i can't recall who is but one of the band members is on a alternative project. Check out on myspace.. If i find the real info i'll post it here.

  • @SorFlavius GREAT!

I hope theyìll tour in Italy I really want to see them...

  • WOW, another awesome Neurosis song....gotta buy some albums now.

  • Comment removed

  • hey im looking for the best Neurosis album to buy. Im a new fan of them and idk what i should get for an album...

  • Oh children, honestly: Neurosis is art, not beer. For some, alas, it is easier to talk about beer rather than art, owing to their expertise in the former and ignorance in the latter...JDJ

  • condescending prick.

  • Oh dear sir, thou art a prick.

  • Grande Band....Much alla chitarra è fortissimo

  • when i first heard neurosis(the 1st song was a sun that never sets)i thought , 'well, lets just skip to the heavy part' lol! but now im totally addicted to neurosis!they changed my life, thank you neurosis!

  • what a fucking fantastic band!!!!! this is pure metal!

  • Neurosis makes me drive slow.

  • politics? beer? what the fuck?

this is neurosis, stop disrespecting them by talking about stupid shit, lets enjoy the beautiful music here people. jesus christ.

  • @TroyRiot314 I love you. I.... I....Just...I...cant take it anymore.. Were thru. Menstrual Chunks.

  • @TroyRiot314 Poser

  • @TroyRiot314 beautifully sad

    sadly beautiful

  • i mean i LOVE BEER but how the fuck did micro brews come outa this comment page?

  • go and listen to the song "from the hill" same band, same album

  • everyone's got his own taste in music...:)

  • This is very true

  • Are you familiar to the term atmospheric ?

  • Wow. I can hear just about all of Leviathan in this.

  • To be completely honest, I agree that mastodon does have a lot of the elements of neurosis within their music. However they remain a very unique and diverse band. You wouldn't look at most metal bands and say they stole Black Sabbaths sound would you? Music is an ever evolving wheel that collects bits here and there and continues to present them in a modern and relevant form.

  • la verdad..........amo esta cancion I LOVE SONG

  • wow it is uncanny how much mastadon stole this sound.

  • Not really, dude.

Brent's chicken-picking is very unique in sound(he used to play banjo before guitar).

Troy make deliver his growls in a similar way as Scott, but they sound very different.

Mastodon features members of neurosis in every one of their albums. The two bands are very good friends.

  • I'm actually a huge mastodon fan but i'm sorry man your wrong and the vocals are more of yelling technic, not a scream(low, mid, high, or inverted) which they both do but being that they are different people it won't sound exactly the same but definitely the same technic. And Brent uses the chicken picken rarely but yes it is only a mastodon speciality.

  • I can personally play any song written by them and in my experience they are very much similar at least enough to credit them with this sound being original to neurosis. If you would like me to get into more technical aspects of the music i will like time signatures and tempo changes and musical arrangment.

  • These guys are thru and thru musical geniuses; ever evolving with each successive album. No single band i have seen live comes close to the emotion that neurosis embodies in their lve performance. Its as if you experience the music rather than hear it. Crazy they've been around for 20 plus years.

  • So fuckin' true.

  • somehow these guy sounded a lot different when i saw them playing as a warm-up band for metallica

  • wow i can't believe i just discovered these guys only 2 years ago. they are like the melvins as far as undiscovered (well, not mainstream) genius.

  • and now I will go drown myself in the ocean and pray for sweet death to come.

  • totally agree..........

  • I actually agree with you. I think Tool's only two interesting records are Aenima and Lateralus, and neither comes even close to the sheer emotional power of Neurosis' music. Neurosis is just fucking untouchable...

  • the ending to this song is ridiculous. totally made my head trip out.

  • What do you mean "ridiculous"? Don't you like it? I think it's damn awesome!!! :D

  • I think he means REDICULOUSLY AWESOME.

  • ridiculous in a perfectly good way, sir or ma'am. :)

  • i just ended up here accidentally excuse my ignorance but can someone give me the "key song" for this band , or best album (just as encouraging start )

  • Depends on what you are looking for, though the eye of every storm, through silver in blood, and times of grace are usually considered their top 3

  • Comment removed

  • claro 100% metal colombiano definitivam, ente NEUROSIS la mejor banda de METAL COLOMBIANO a verlo en rock al parque el sabado

  • me siento orgullosa de ser colombia!!!!!

    NEUROSIS :D

    EN ROCK AL PARQUE

  • Under the waves...

  • Neurosis has had a huge impact on me,in my style of music they brought melody and emotion to some of the stuff i play, they really changed my life in a sense!

  • This Muic is really inspirational in your mind like you are in the ocean while its getting darker. and you cant breath only wait

  • ISIS, Mastodon, Neurosis

  • Y'know, this album is always heavily criticized by music critics, but I never understand why. This is just another great song on an album of great songs from a band who has had nothing but great albums. I mean, this song is beautiful.

  • Music is always like it or leave it. And it should stay that way. Either it touches your soul or it doesn't. Critics try to measure music so they treat it like sports: whoever runs first is the best.

  • But they should know that Neurosis alway
