Bobby - thanks greatly for posting this. Any more of the special? I've tried a number of times to purchase a copy of the reunion special, but cannot find it. Anyone have any idea where a copy can be purchased?
THere's a shot at about :40 in which the top of the bassist's head can be seen - NOT Del, MUST be Lamano - but looks like Jordan Cole (I know it's not, but...what a thought). I have a photo of the band in Houston shortly after this with Lamano on bass. Never get to see Thompson in this, surprised to learn he was there. I believe he died shortly thereafter. What a great musician and what a sad loss.
Great stuff! My brother knew the guy who wrote this song for them named Tanden Almer. They were both in the Mensa club together around D.C. Windy was written by a teenage fan of theirs.
The Association 2010 Tour; Jan 31 Largo Cultural Center Largo FL; Feb 12 Rams Head Annapolis MD; Feb 13 The Birchmere Alexandria VA; Feb 14 Valentines Day with The Association & Jay And the Americans The Palace Theatre Greensburg PA; Mar 5 Palm Beach Community College Palm Beach Garden FL; Mar 6 Fl Atlantic University Boca Rotan Fl; Mar 27 Gateway Events Center McDonough GA; Apr 16 Weill Center for Performing Arts Sheyboygan WI; Apr 17 McComb Bruch Performing Arts Center Wautona WI.
No by this time, of course, as everyone knows, Brian Cole had been dead for 8 years from a heroin overdose, in 1979, Del Ramos, the younger brother of member Larry Ramos, had replaced Cole, and the Association began touring 2 years later again, performing all of their original hits with little sound change.
Interesting that there's a bass player on the back line. Wonder who it is? On the resulting reunion tour, Jules played bass. Although you never see in this clip, I assume Ted's on drums and Rick Ulsky is on keyboards. Any ideas, Bobby? Thanks for posting - very nice. dbs
Yes, Ted was on drums, and I believe Joe La Mano was on bass, he later toured with the group in the mid to late '80s. I believe Richard Thompson was on piano. Ulsky did not get with the band in this version of the band until the early '80s. He did play a bit with the band in the late '70s, but only for a short time.
@jimmalou - I'm guessing from the authoritative tone that this is my egg harbor city friend? Hope all is well with you - come visit when you're in Baton Rouge again. Dudley-Brian

Just Great! One of my favorite songs of all time. And this has to be the best live version I've had the pleasure to see. Rock on!

I would imagine a studio bass player and Ted is on drums, were just not able to tell from the video.
