  • Why did you allow him to leave us, O God, you bastard...

  • Wonderful! He was a long-time favorite and I will surely miss his voice and music. We must be grateful for all the marvelous music he left us!

  • it's just so unfair, he was taken away from us too soon..i love this man, his music, his lyrics speak volumes to me, and i miss him so much....i grew up listening to his beautiful voice, and now he's no longer with us...rest in peace, dearest dan, thank u for giving us so many wonderful great meaningful songs..we love u always!

  • ...not an epitath; rather a path to go, and flow into the never ending song and dance...

  • i fucked dan fogelberg

  • Love the guitar work on this. One of my favourite sounds. So glad Dan put his hand to this style - just goes to show his versatility and craft. Could listen to it all day long...

  • This song is the closest expression I have ever heard of what I think of as where our souls go after we leave this life.

¿Abba Dei, Lo que es mio, lo que es de Dios, Lo que es del rio?

We'll all meet at the river.

    Thank you Dan.

  • @greenfrogct1 , I agree...I had to create this tribute because this song moved me so much. It is indeed what I imagine as well... Netherlands is another one of his that really played an important role in my life.

Thank-you Dan for the gift of your music....

  • @gva0917 - spread the word, Dan fans! Riverfront Park!

  • A beautiful man with a beautiful soul; your music never failed to touch a chord deep within. You passed too soon, but your essence lives on in the music you left earthbound.

  • @gva0917 - Title track, Dan's 13th album in 1993. Fans take note: memorial park dedication in Dan's memory is 28 Aug 2010 in Peoria IL. Put this reminder on all of Dan's videos and then thumb them up to keep them at the top of the page where fans will see. There'll be a turnout like no one's ever seen if we promote this! Help me out here, Gayle!

  • I miss you Dan... your very beautiful talent and heart will live on forever. YOU WILL ALWAYS BE THE TRUE "Leader of the Band"... RIP...

  • Perfect...beautiful!!

  • I remember passing through Moab? somewhere from around I live, which is Northen AZ, and gong home through (Moab I believe) a beautiful desert scenery. The song perfectly fits the moment. everytime I listen to this song it reminds me traveling with my parents and I think of natural beauty that surounds my home. Great Song. Sad that Dan passed, Rest in Peace. Thanks for posting.

  • The piano solo in this bleeping great. Not to mention the lyrics and classic guitar.

  • The piano is Billy Payne of Little Feat. The lyrics and guitar are all Dan.

  • One of my favorie Dan songs. What a variety of genre's he wrote in.

  • Love this man and his magical music! Thank you for this posting.

    We miss you, Dan!

  • I enjoyed this immensely! This has been one of my favorite Dan songs since this album came out! The haunting melody, the perfectly matched lyrics, and all of the instrumentation in this is just one of his very best songs that reached a chord in my heart! No one else comes even close to the talents of Dan! Thank you for such a beauiful video! Ever On!

  • It makes sense, they all ease the pain with something. So sad and so real. I love the minds of these artists. Dan has been my closet love since I was fifteen.

  • At a time when screeching guitars was the norm, his music stood out with it's beautiful lyrics and smooth eloquence. He will be sadly missed, but we will always have his beautiful music.

  • Hard to believe it's been just over a year now since we lost Dan..but his music will live on.

  • Can someone make available Serengeti Moon? I think it is one of his best, next to Same Auld Lang Syne.

  • I saw him in an intimate concert in Southern California a while back, during which he spoke about his struggle with his addiction to alcohol. I am so sad to find out that he's passed away.

Show me a struggling addict, and I'll show you a brilliant artist.

Is it the pain of their struggle that makes them so creative? Or is it that addictive personalities and creativity go hand in hand?

  • Well, I think it is the pain of their inner struggle that compels them to create as a form of catharsis or healing. I am an astrologer and Dan had a very challenging astrological chart that he turned into magic.........it is up to each person how they handle the hand they are dealt. His choices and talent reflect his inner struggles that he turned into enchantment.

  • I emigrated from Lebanon to go to college in the late 70's, where there were no i-pods or You-Tube--just radio stations. It was a good day when they played his song(s). I would stay in the car and not leave until the song ended. Some of my dates found that endearing. I will always miss Dan.

  • Great video to the beautiful song. He had so much talent, he is a great lose to us who loved his music.

  • WELL DONE!

  • I saw him in concert

  • Genious.

  • Man, this reminds me of college... I miss you Dan. Your songs will always be my favorites.

  • Dan's music is woven into the fabric of my memories.

  • Another great song. I still feel so sad that Dan passed away. It's not like I don't have a life, but he's been on my mind since 12/16/07. His music has been in my soul since I was 13 years old. I'm 48 now and Dan was a musical presence during the decades. I think I loved his intelligence and creativity. I work and drive with Dan's music. I love all his songs. Funny, I never tire of Dan's songs. They've aged so well. Thank you Dan for your work! It's rare to find so literate a singer these days.

  • Beautiful job Dance. I too feel the sadness. Even though I never met him, he and his music were a wonderful friend.

  • Awesome job, Dance. It's been over 2 months since the world lost a fabulously talented man who touched all of our souls in a very personal way. I still can't believe he has been claimed by the River of Souls, but I trust in God's plan for him and for all of us as well. I really appreciate your video tribute. It has given me a lot of comfort and peace.

  • Beautifully done Dance.

  • Thank-you very much for the nice comments...I still can't believe Dan is gone. He was so loved by his fans and so admired by other musicians.

  • Concur with everyone... Well done Dance!

  • A beautiful interpretation to one of Dan's best songs. Somehow I believe he is still composing and the angels are in awe. We will always miss you Dan.

  • Hasn't He Mellowed Very Well? Thank You, Daniel. You are too Good!

  • its great listening to this rhythm. sorry for the loss of a great singer-composer.

  • This is an absolutely gorgeous song! Very relaxing and very calm!

  • Very nice. Thank you. Listening to Dan's music has always been special to me and was hard at first. It is starting to get better. This is one of my favorites out of the hundreds and hundreds of his recordings. Again Thank You.

  • Well done Dance. Well done..a great tribute to a timeless poet.

  • Great job Dance. Nice pics of Dan intersperced with the others. Thanks for the x-mas gift. BB in FL.

  • I appreciate your comments...doing this was a good way of working through all the sadness I have been feeling ever since Dan moved on. His music spoke to my soul. It has always given me a place to go for comfort and inspiration.
