The actor who plays "Bent" is Phillip Casnoff. A great character actor. He was in Oz in t he late 90's and also played Frank Sinatra in a mini series.
@TheFuamus Re: letting Bent drown in the lake. I agree, but every good story needs a perfect asshole. And Bent, my friend, is the perfect asshole. I HAAAAATE HIM!
i never like bentz, i still don't. but in the other civil war movie he was in was he was pretty cool. just something about him in this i didn't like. jackson looked like jackson (stonewall) other person was George E Pickett
I remember the North and the South was so addictive. It was so much so that I remember it came on my Tv back in the 80's and I watched it even though it was in French and I couldn't understand a word of french. It was called the Nord et la Sud, or something like that. I lived in Canada back then.
haha Bent is soo funny! I'm looking for a quote of his where he's sitting at his fathers office being humiliated and then saying something like I AM A FINE LIEUTENANT FATHER! is that true?? PLEEEASE if you could find that. PLEEEEASE.
Hey GirlireRat- I'm glad to hear that someone else quotes this movie sometimes in daily life! My best friend and I always quote Isabel Hazard's line about Virgilia (at the end of Book 1): "She can go to a hotel... or she can go to a hospital... or she can go to hell!" That one is one of my favorites!
"In the name of decency Sir, cover yourself!" Hahaha. My siblings and I quote this part all the time! We quote a lot from this series! There's so much material! I love it!
Anybody but Bent, OOOOOo

Bent kills me! He's hysterical. I always laugh at the way he says "you whore!" with that thick southern accent.

This looks really good, is this from a miniseries?? I'd like to watch these in ORDER.
tmattrope 3 years ago
It's such a long miniseries. There are about 5 or 6 discs, two sided, and each episode is like 2 hours long. It's an amazing series though!

in the books, bent was supposed to be fat...i just noticed that this bent isn't. i saw the series a couple of years back. i love this series!
talentedlikethat 3 years ago
I could be wrong but I think in the books Bent was fat as a child and was ridiculed which turned him into what he was...
DanIN72 3 years ago 3
He probably busted his nut all over the whore or the sheets when he got caught. LOL!!
