  • Your paint seems to spread so easily, is that because you are working with oils? I've been working with acrylics and cannot seem to get the same fluidity.... Also how might you go about thinning out the top layer enough to be transparent? Is that also a trait of oils? I love your Peinture Du Jour's!

  • I let the first layer dry, then painted a thinned out layer over top. when it dries it becomes transparent. Good Luck and thanks for commenting.

  • what did you put on it to make it blend was it just a shade/coat of gray?????? or what, bc it was well blended and you were still able to see the trees how did u do it?

  • they were oils. I didn't add anything, i just painted fast. it took me about an hour to lay that coat.

  • I really like how you constructed the background, the trees and the placement of the dark tones in the work...just beautiful Elliott. BUT honestly (and this is just my own opinion) I'm not convinced by the hanging light!... I get the idea though! Very cool to watch you paint!

  • They are meant to go fast to kind of tease you. This painting is inspired from a trip to Tuscany in November. The photo's were from the trip. The idea is that it's remarkable how we focus on the simplest of things during such a big event like this. Thanks for watching. Feel free to share this with others.
