  • So amazing. Any chance you still have this video and can repost it in higher quality?

  • Vraiment extraordinaire!

Félicitations, je ne me lasse pas de voir ce travail vraiment enchanteur!

  • I was at the cotton bowl this year. The band did the X formation. A fellow aggie comments: "It's like a cluster fuck, except they don't touch eachother! How the hell do they do that!?!?!?" My friend, who is a graduate, said that someone attempted to do a computer simulation on a few of the band's formations. The simulation failed every time. The computer said that they were mathematically impossible. So much for technology.

  • Can't wait to see this next week!

  • The Aggie Band is a Texas state treasure.

  • I'm a West Point graduate (class of 1962) and am always highly impressed by the precision marching of the A&M cadets and the Aggie band. Congratulations Aggies!

  • My favorite band

  • I'm a longhorn but I have to take my hat off to them.

  • Many of those men and women will put their lives on the line in a Bradley or and F-16 protecting freedom for assclowns like u to express their idiotic opinions.

  • Stay classy aggy.

  • why because your team sucks at life?

  • It might seem slow or boring at first until you realize how tight and precise they are. They're one step away from knocking each other's teeth out for the entire show! It's an incredibly tight drill.

Awesome band, Texas A&M! The whole show looks and sounds awesome.

  • @PukaMan

so wait... its boring when they are walking but you think they should just stand around... thats way more impressive.

You would hear "cleaner" rolls if you were A) closer B) not hearing the echo of the stadium and C) had a better recording... idiot.

  • @slwdsm Yeah, it is boring. This coming from someone who's High School did marching shows modeled after DCI marching shows, one of which was Scheherezade, which are over 9000 times more exciting than this.

Watch this for amazing marching routine.

    watch?v=LlUlD59ZMgY

  • @PukaMan

sorry, but i dont enjoy the "show band" style marching bands... seen them over9000 times

    -

Almost every school does them, yes there is varying difficulties but they are all very similar. DCI incorporates a lot of crap that isnt related to music or marching bands to be "showy". i guess it just refreshing to see something DIFFERENT, but apparently you have been conditioned to think anything different is automatically boring. FWIW, you close minded opinion is no more right than my opinion

  • @PukaMan

    Heres another worthwhile fact.

    -

There is no A&M band program to enroll into as a class, all these participants (usually close too 400) are participating strictly as an extra curricular activity (on their own time after classes) and also have to participate in the corps of cadets.

    -

The maneuvers may look boring here, but you dont get a real sense of how close they are marching while continuing at times like 4:09. If this isnt enough for your respect, you need to get your head checked.

  • @slwdsm Yeah because "being different" immediately means it's good right? Like Porsche's Panamera, haha. Sorry, but this rigid militaristic style they've chosen just doesn't feel right to me, probably because doing regular marching like this reminds me of marching in parade's which was nowhere near as fun, in my personal experience. The music's boring, the routine is boring, it's all boring... wait for it... in my opinion.

  • @PukaMan

    1. Marching isnt about being fun for the band geeks, its about the fans.

    -

    2. Doubt this qualifies as regular marching, Some of the bands maneuvers require specific turns and perfectly uniform marching with less than inches of margin for error.

    -

    3. Your right, neither of our opinions matter, the ones that do matter are the ones that give out trophies i.e. louis sudler trophy, which.... wait for it... this band won the year before this video was made.

    -

have you ever seen them live?

  • @slwdsm 1. Wrong, you've gotta enjoy what you're playing. ANd it seems like the only people who are fans of the Aggie band are , surprise, Aggies.

    2. And with a nice slow tempo for them to march to, I would hope they didn't screw it up. March at a beat of 140 with the same precision and I'll be impressed.

  • @PukaMan

Your right, no one but aggie fans enjoy the band, thats why two of the highest rated comments on this video are props from other schools fans? Stop being an obnoxious longhorn and grow up.

  • @slwdsm I'm not an obnoxious Longhorn, I'm an obnoxious musician. There's a difference.

  • @slwdsm

    3. Concerning that award, here's an excerpt about it: "The award does not represent the winner of any championship (say what?), but rather a band surrounded by great tradition that has become respected nationally. No school may be honored with the award twice." UT got this award long before A&M did, back in 1986.

  • @PukaMan

    -

And your true agenda comes out, your nothing but a longhorn brat trying to talk shit about your rival.

    -

I enjoy the longhorns hot dog shaped performances they do every year... it never gets old.

  • @slwdsm Yeah whatever, say what you want. I haven't gone to a single football game since I've been here, mainly because I get bored with football, and the half-time shows are pretty boring. I like how you immediately flew on the offensive the moment any mention of UT came into the equation. Are you an Aggie?

  • @PukaMan "The Sudler Trophy is awarded annually to a college or university marching band which has demonstrated the highest musical standards and innovative marching routines and ideas,"

    -

A&M was only the 20th school to receive this award, and apparently they are under the opinion that the aggie band (despite being a military "boring" marching band) has high musical standards and innovative marching routines.

    -

Sorry but you failed at making your opinion more important than theirs.

  • @slwdsm And UT was the 5th school to recieve the award. Must be a longer tradition of high musical standards I guess?

  • @PukaMan

So wait, your argument switched from the band is boring and uncreative, to the texas band is better now?

    -

Just trying to keep the facts straight.

  • @slwdsm You tell me, you were the one that brought up that argument to begin with.

  • @PukaMan

So wait, you need me to tell you what your opinions are? how old are you 15?

    -

move along longhorn brat... unless you want to bring up something else for me to shoot down.

  • @slwdsm Good job walking around that one, haha. You mentioned the award they got. I felt it necessary to clarify that it's not an award you win in competition, it's basically an honorary award. If you want me to bust out the arrogance, I'd be happy to oblige.

  • @slwdsm Ah wwhat the hell, could you tell me why UT was chosen to play for the inaugurations of Presidents Theodore Roosevelt, John F. Kennedy, Lyndon B. Johnson, Ronald Reagan, George H. W. Bush and the two inaugurations of George W. Bush, and A&M wasn't? How about Superbowls? Have they performed at any of those?

  • @PukaMan

Because A&M was a small college for most of its existence, only becoming a university in the 60's.

    -

    LBJ family are/were longhorn fans.

    -

And just because Texas university was at those inauguration ceremonies doesn't mean the aggie band wasnt. I know that G.W. Bush personally requested the aggie band at his inaugurations.

    -

Your argument is weak, you got shot down on "A&M is boring" so now your trying to be arrogant and prove how the longhorn band is better? typical bandwagon longhorn

  • @slwdsm How does an opinion get shot down? lol. Typical self-righteous prick.

  • @PukaMan

Your right, being different is bad, Everything should be the same and un-inspiring. Band performances should all be 95% the same like mini-vans. (ooo that band has the wood paneling upgrade)...

    -

The military style marching band is a tradition at A&M, their skill & polish in performing "impossible" maneuvers is amazing. Sorry they dont impress you with show theme'd performances that are repeated all year long... infact they do a new drill every game.

  • I love it! Im going in 3 years- trumpets! I'm joining the Corps of cadets- and the band. Their uniforms are sure as hell better than those faggy brokeback mountain cowboy costumes that TU wears... GIG EM AGGIES

  • Cyrus the Great!

We've played that in my high school band!

    Heck yeah! Gig'em Aggies!

  • Is this a Drum and Bugle corp. or do they have woodwinds?

  • my brother said that they were famous for this, i gave him the -.- look, now i see what he means o.o

  • The Corps is so bad ass.

I can never remember, what is the music they play at around the 1:30 mark called? The one that was played for Syrus the Great.

  • incredible...

  • ya babii

  • Grew up basically across the street from Kyle Field. Hearing this is like a Scot hearing the bagpipes...makes me want to fucking kill !

  • this is def. one of the better shows, but still cant beat Drum and Bugle Corps, which by the way, is 15X's harder than this

  • only a real aggie can appreciate the Fightin Texas Aggie Band

  • I always loved the TAMU band, such skill and precision. and to brak, taking pride in what one does makes one excel. to bad you dont value tradition and dedication. I always have a blast when i go to bryan/college station.

  • I always loved the TAMU band, such skill and precision. and to brak, taking pride in what one does makes one excel. to bad you dont value tradition and dedication. I always have a blast when i go to bryan/college station.

  • Was at the OU/ A&M game last night. First time I've ever seen the Aggie band...was really awesome. Even the OU fan's (including myself) were cheering and in awe. ..Freaking awesome.

  • IM ADDING THIS TO MY FAVORITES! :-)

  • Wow. Obsessed much?

  • wow brakk u must be a stupid longhorn from Austin where the homos live which i think is way worse than college Station

  • You poor soul get your head out of you a@# and go to a real college!!!

  • I'd hope a band would be outstanding after playing the same exact stuff for God knows how long.

  • we have about 40-60 songs. Considering they do a new drill each week with only 3-6 songs for each drill, even the senior class doesn't go through the entire list of music by their senior year...

...but thanks for showing your ignorance

  • we are by far the GREATEST band in the nation.one day i will march alongside fellow aggies proving to all you modernized bands that traditonal military style marching is much greater than all the rest

  • What an army! Great!

  • The Aggie Band is like a time machine. They may be the only band in the nation that preserves the old 6/5 block moves...and do not be fooled. That is hard as hell to perfect! More so than the contemporary drill of today...

  • WHOOP!

  • WOW - That was a great drill!! There was lots of moves I have never seen before. Great Job.

    Gig 'em Ags

  • I get goosebumps each time they are on the field. Gig 'em AGGIES!

  • The discipline and precision involved in marching in this style is very rarely rivaled by any other marching program in the country...you may think marching in straight lines is boring, but it takes a well trained unit to do it right...especially during that 4 man pass through...one wrong move and someone gets a broken nose. So if you want to question the style, that's okay, everyone has their preference, but DO NOT question the skill of each and every member of the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band.

  • I understand what you mean. The Ohio State University Marching Band (TBDBITL) has the same style. I often hear how BORING the band is because they march in straight lines and have desciplined movements. The Fightin' Texas Aggie Band and The Ohio State University Marching Band have very unique styles that some people just don't seem to get.

  • I agree. The only other band that I've seen that comes close to the Aggies is OSU. The "dotting of the i" is spectacular. Very moving.

  • I agree. The Aggie Band is well disciplined and traditional. Don't expect to see some crazy, raunchy moves from them.

I like them just the way they are.

  • Gig Em'and God Bless

  • Awesome!

  • What a tremendous unit....saw them at a kick-off classic at Giant Stadium years ago (against Auburn and Bo Jackson)and the place went nuts at the precision marching. Gig 'em, men!

  • A little TOO traditional for my tastes, but they have it perfected and no one comes close to their precision...then again, they are the only marching band I have ever seen perform at the same slow pace all the time, it lacks energy. Still gotta give credit where its due...they do a good job. I'm not from Texas, but I understand ;)

  • 108 bpm isn't a "slow style." It is the military regulation pace. Within the band (watch a closeup sometime), it has plenty of energy.

  • theres nothing like an aggie band!

  • WHOOP!

  • I dis-like ags greatly... But I'd rather be an ag, than in a drum and bugle corp.

If straight lines are so easy...you'd do it too!

  • WHOOPPP!!!!!!

  • I was there. That game was fucking AWESOME!!!!!

  • Guys that was great and all, but seriously, join a drum and bugle corp...you'll have a better time then marching in straight lines ;) But really, that was pretty good!

  • Even us "dumb" BQs from A&M know how to spell "Corps"

  • Can't wait for fall! Nothing like football season in Aggieland!! WHOOP!!!

  • Yeah nothing like shootin for a .500 record. LOL. Lucky you don't play in the SEC. Forever LSU!!!!

  • idOOHM =)

  • Nice. You know how to march in a straight line! BORING.

  • Thanks ass. Its military marching style. Alot of bands do it too. If your not from texas, you wouldn't understand.

  • the straight line part isn't hard. KEEPing on a straight line while marching between other people with less than an inch of clearance...well, that's something else...

  • wow that's hot!

  • whoop!

  • Yay, Cyrus The Great! One of my most favorite marches...Never heard a band march to it though...except ofcourse my high school

  • We always win halftime

  • Cotton Bowl, 2005. Don't get cocky.

  • lol

  • Great video!
