As that is a rigid wing.. How do you get out of a spin? In a full sized glider it would be HARD opposite rudder... I don't think he has a rudder by the look of it, glade he was not hurt though. Cheers Pete
Pregunto?... Este tipo de Ala entra tan facil en un spin ante un Stall o una perdida de velocidad tan minima porque en el video se ve que no hubo falla en la estructura del Ala para que generara un Spin tan facil
The pilot ponced about a bit on take off ,but it looked to be flying fast enough to me. Any chance it was a green dust devil? Got caught by one of those once spun round twice and spat out. Apart from a few bits of straw to show it was there, nothing. Glad the pilot was fine.
After looking at the takeoff frame by frame, you'll notice at 0:48 and on that the flaps are not lowered in the "slower speed " launch position. I have a topless flex wing with carbon winglets & they along with the twist in the trailing edge greatly helps in tip stall prevention at really slow speeds. If this accident had of happened a bit higher or coming in a low turn at the LZ, the outcome may have been a serious injury or worst.
I've been told that every one you walk away from is "a landing" and not a crash. Still, this was a pretty scary landing. Glad nobody was hurt seriously on this one. I'd certainly have to clean out my shorts if I were the pilot after this one.
must be rigged wrong
