  • Prakrti Purusa, the purport is self evident ; Govindam, adi purusam. tam aham bhajami, said Lord Brahma Mahajana. This is Radha Krishna.

  • hearing purushsuktam creates a divine feeling and positive energy all around.

  • Thank you so so much for uploading this video. I am trying to learn this off by heart, and just reading from sanskrit is quite difficult to grasp the flow correctly. This is helping me a massive amount, and just listening a few times, i feel like already i am getting so much better at pronouncing words. May the almighty purush bless you with all success in life and all in vasudeva kutumbakam who listen to this.

  • he iswar daya kar sab par aur mujh par bhi....:)

  • Purusha suktam by far is one of the most enlightening basis of perception of everything that anyone can ever acquire.

Lack of proper knowledge leads to perversion. Contemptment stops contemplation. You either "know" or you dont.

  • Through Prakirti, Purusha is immanent since His grace becomes evident. In order for anything within Prakirti to understand Purusha it has to draw Purusha upon Prakirti for realization.

Of course at that time that this hymn was composed the level of understanding was not known. We see that our greatest Brahmins realized at a much later stage. This is called divine revelation. The understanding becomes fine-tuned afterwards. And there is still much to realize yet.

  • Purusha isnt just Lord Vishnu. Purusha is precisely male and his eternal consort is female, Prakirti. It is through Prakirti, Purusha's attributes become percievable to the most realized minds. Purusha is All-Pervading in His attributes. Why is Prakirti His eternal consort? Precisely because Purusha's All-Pervading attributes are Eternal and Limitless. Prakirti is the slave of Purusha at His disposal, yet under His mercy she manifests.

  • hi. dont make your own interpretations of purusha.

purusha is not one of the gods. it is the supreme. the only one god. all others are only different aspects of the purusha. purusha denotes the parama purusha, the creator. It is not male, or female, it has no beggining or end.

  • It is called 'purusha' (as in male) coz the role it plays in creation. Purusha makes prakrti and then interacts with it to make life. Prakrti ( as in nature, of the cosmos, universe or earth or which ever scale you want to look at it) play the role of the female and bears life. Just like a man mates with a woman, and then has role in the growth of the child after it. It is the woman who does the rest. The role of purusha like the man is only of initiation.
