  • Wow you look really beautiful in this video! Shalom and thanks for your videos. You should come to Israel and do a travelouge there.

  • @merrytraveller. I just want to say thank you. I'm a 23 year old student from Florida and will be visiting Egypt for the first time in May. Do you have any other recommendations? Thank you so much!

  • I am a long-time western ex-pat living in Cairo for ten years. Egyptian people are absolutely wonderful.

But this video is so misleading and inaccurate. merrytraveller, you must be an uneducated idiot

  • @klkennedy100 how is this misleading and inaccurate?

  • @merrytraveller Pat 1... Your suggestions are mostly centered around the Cairo district of Zamalek - one of the more expensive and western-oriented places of Cairo. The Abu el Sayeed Restaurant is "one of the top ten restaurants"?? No way!! And "molakaya" is not a stew. It is a green soup made from a rather pungent green vegetable. It is typically quite oily. I have no idea what you were eating, but it wasn't traditional molakaya. (NO tomatos, rice, or chicken.)

  • @klkennedy100: Abou el Sid was indeed listed on their top 50 restaurants in the world back in May 2002 -

and i believe it fell within the top ten. but your description of molokheya is better than mine ... stew was likely not the right word, but i have never had an oily one.

  • @klkennedy100 i can't seem to post a link to the proof of this in my reply, i will try to do so on your wall.

  • @merrytraveller Part 2...Sunnyland Papyrus?? You must be joking. There are countless places to buy papyrus in Khan el Khalili and I would STRONGLY suggest shopping around for a better selection.

Less expensive scarves and greater selection can be found in Attaba and NOT Khan el Khalili.

  • @klkennedy100: i never said to not shop around, but of all the places i went to, the selection at QUALITY was best at sunny land. it's also guaranteed authentic.

  • @klkennedy100: the person this video wa meant for was not travelling to Attaba.

  • @merrytraveller Part 3...a "faluka" is a single-sail boat and can seat about four comfortably and safely. What you refer to along the bank of the Nile in Garden City are NOT falukas. Those boats you refer to seat from 20 to 30 people and are motor-powered.

  • @klkennedy100: i have taken the single-sail boat you describe several times in the exact area i described.

  • hi there, i would like to thank u for this vid,

am italian living in egypt for the last 10 years, this vid is the sum of those ten years in almost 10 min :)

the way u talk on egypt is nice but i want to tell u something, when it comes to live here it's different, pple are nice with tourists more than pple they are living with, i dnno why Egyptian citizens don't respect each other, u can see this also in their way of driving here, it's beyond any limits :)

    thanks again

  • @ramifaridbittar1986: thank you for your wonderful post. i share in your love for this wonderful city.

  • Ugly!

  • u r awesome this vid was helpful a lot

  • @CuteAsheni so glad to hear that!

  • OK what da point !! =) Chaw

  • Nrow you're very helpful & in this video you're So Cute

    ^_*

  • I am trapped somewhere between nausea and awe .. Kusharee sucks, Om Ali is something much likely a diarrhea .. Egyptian food, culture - which i never figured out where - sucks , i would not recommend this country for any one to go to .. Cheers for all

  • @DeepGenom: sorry you didn't enjoy any of these wonderful things. i respectfully disagree with you.

  • hi merry, im traveling through egypt and jordan with my 17 year old daughter. im quit nervous regarding the safety, as you know how the media is. do you have any advise regarding traveling with a young girl whose a vegitarian

  • @zakkswylde: have a wonderful trip! i only visited jordan briefly, but can confidently day Egypt is very, very safe. Though your daughter may get 'hit on' in a friendly way. there are many meals available to vegeterians and seeing how tourist friendly the country is, they are very accomodating! ENJOY!

  • never mind, it worked

  • hey i cant watch your video "this video does not exist"

  • OMG-where have you been??? Nice to see you on video!!! BIG KISS!!! xxxxxxxx

  • Wow, that is such great advice... I really appreciate all the suggestions & time spent putting this together! I'd especially really like to check out Abu el Sid - I was looking for a place with some yummy food & that sounds delicious! Thanks so much!

  • I am so happy this was of some use!!

By the way, I realize there's much I didn't cover, like the museum, the various deserts, nightlife...I didn't want to bore you with a part 2! :) Please feel free to drop me a line if there's any other info you need!!

It's a bit chaotic compared to many other cities, but has the greatest charms. Have fun!

  • @SuperCatman2009 i'm not sure why this video instilled such anger in you :(. i am not egyptian at all. just lived there for a few years and had a great time.
