Has this uploader ever read Romans 1 which declares man's guilty knowledge of God by suppressing the truth that is made plain to them in creation, their conscience, logic, etc. and are therefore condemned? no where in this video does John Piper claim that they have a saving knowledge of Christ by accepting Him as their saviour and Lord.

You've definitely taken Piper out of context. Each person in that room did know that Jesus is the Son of God...especially after they were presented with this fact. What he was stating is that there is a difference between knowing this and living in light of that fact...I can know that and still not be saved. Knowledge of Christ doesn't constitute salvation. Repentance and total surrender do.

This doesn't make any sense. Just because he keeps saying 'You know' this and that in a hollow echoing voice, it doesn't make it true. For example, it's not true that I know, 'deep down', that the Gospels are the truth. I don't know that. Nature does not provide me with evidence that there is a god. I believe that other people believe in god, but I am convinced that they are wrong - I don't know for certain that they're wrong, but neither do they know for certain that they're right.

Every unbeliever knows enough the Gospel so he can be condemned. This does not contradict to the total depravity. It supports total depravity, because it means that the depraved person not just doesn't believe but he willingly denies God.

Piper is saying that all men are without excuse as Romans 1:20 says, "For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power, and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse." Piper doesn't preach that man can come to a saving faith in Christ by his own will, he preaches that man is hopeless and that he is completely dependent on the gospel as "the power of God unto salvation." (Romans 1:16)

I am not completely sure what John Piper is saying, but there seems to be truth to it. Everyone will be without excuse on that Day. Unbelievers are darkened, and believers are regenerate by grace from the Lord. Yes total depravity, but still without excuse. Every person knows there is a God in heaven, they just choose their sin, and reject God.

Piper is calling for the nominal Christians in his church to make a lifestyle commitment to follow Christ humbly on a daily basis instead of just mentally assenting to doctrine -- it should reach our hearts. @Peacy It's pretty obvious to me that everything in the bible comes from man, and not god. Nature is not evidence that there is a god: actually, nature provides a mountain of evidence that there isn't one, and no evidence at all that there is one. The only 'evidence' that there is a god comes from humans claiming that there is one, and humans can't (and have never been able to) agree about what sort of god or gods there are, or how they manifest themselves. So I suspect that there isn't one.

If you will check out his Xanga you'll see that this guy's simply a hyper-Calvinist. Hyper-Calvinists believe that true faith is necessarily manifested in perfect theology; specifically about the extent of the atonement. In other words, a person cannot be saved who believes in anything other than 5 point Calvinism. Even further, Calvinists who believe that a non-5 pointer can be saved are damned. Very sad and interesting.

He always uses the Bible in his preaching and all he said in those clips can be found in scripture - the Lord has written his law upon our hearts and so we know we are sinful and the Word of God is like a mirror (like in James, I think) to show this to us and to highlight it and to show us how it is we can be saved. We know that Jesus is the Son of God yet our sinful hearts will not acknowledge him - but we meet him in the Scriptures and there, we cannot avoid or escape him.
