  • 1:14 if you want to skip the crap

  • @MrMattsung Thank you :)

  • For the Americans:

All the world spells ALUMINIUM, excepted the USA.

All the world uses metric, except USA stuck in the imperial measures...even the English have stopped using weird measure units a long time ago...

The US Army uses metric, the NASA also for the internal documentation since Von Braun, all US scientifics use SI units (which are metric) if they want to publish, any US engineer if he wants to sell engineering outside the USA uses metric...

Metric is easier to use and more precise

  • @MrAluminox For the record, Humphry Davy named the base metal Aluminum. Later he changed the name to Aluminium.

As for metric, yeah, Imperial units are terrible.

  • @rlbond Many thanks. I made a little search: Davy gave first the name of alumium, after he used aluminum and someone purposed aluminium...so aluminum word was the second in order of appearance...

  • @MrAluminox Every country except America, Liberia and Burma use SI units.

Everyone I've talked to says they'd rather America use SI units, but for some reason we don't.

  • @PykohYT I imagine it's been put in the too hard basket, moving an entire country to Metric.

  • @Loxter123 Not in America... also where the hell was this filmed... thats not the voice over for how its made where I live.

  • he sounds like napoleon dynamite

  • ancient aliens made the first aluminum foil

  • @FooBarr1 aluminium*

  • Eh, very bad how it's made...I still don't understand how the "ignit" becomes the foil.

  • when he said 'it all starts with a cocoon' I was shocked for a moment as I thought Aluminium foil starts with a cocoon!

  • @ahrjspmf they would have no injuries because they would have disintegrated

  • Now where it's made...............CHINA.

  • wow they make aluminium foil with real aluminium :D

  • 7,500k = 16,500lbs O_o

  • 2:46 i wann stick my hand in there and shove it in my mouth!

  • Am I the only one who's noticed that at the beginning the start spells out ' HOW I MAD' ??

  • @1xXxiluvpurplexXx1 You were that bored that u actually spell it?/ o.o anyways , yes its '' HOW I MAD ''

  • @Fitzboy2506 I get VERY bored but I just tend to notice things like that anyway

  • it sounds

    like someone

    from vat19!!!

  • wtf is centigrade?

  • @android059 Fahrenheit and kilos means pounds

  • @natedog2004 Fahrenheit is a measure of temperature. and kilos is part of the metric system so it does not mean pounds, even though it does measure weight. i've just never heard someone use the word centigrade

  • @android059 kind of confusing isn't it ???

  • love how americans call it a-loom-inum :L

  • @BBONK95 how do you say it?

  • @TheCardGuy521 the way its spelt! al-um-in-ium :L

  • @BBONK95 ahh.

  • metric sucks ASSHOLE!!!

  • @mbcyclery

metric system is better them our system

  • @TheCrossedeyefreak he just doesn't realize how much easier metric is than our system.

  • @goodkill1

I know! To convert 1 foot to inches, you have to know how many inches are in a foot. Metric system, You know instantly that 1000m is equal to ONE Kilometer.

  • @ 5:28 the sheets arent doubles because of 'danger of ripping' but because the rollers can get closer to each other and they run 2 sheets threu to make them thinner;)

  • nice music

  • this is the most wasted product after plastic bags ...there so many garbage in this world

  • @salvadoraugustus not if you know how to recycle it

  • watchin this made me think to drink alluminium

  • @123madhavan Don't do it! Don't drink the shiny water! lol

  • oh the making metal lol joking :)

  • One thing they don't tell you about the lubricant in the cold rolling process: it's kerosene.

  • this is complicated

  • 3:25 haha Han Solo in carbonite and why could they just get the ingots fron the start? maybe cos its too big and has impurities

  • the pronunciation doesn't matter, you understood what was being said - shut up and watch the god damn video.

  • Okay, it's not "A-loo-min-um". It's "A-loo-min-ee-um". You guys say it weird.

  • i guess captain kirk works for discovery now?

  • its either aluminum or aluminium, both are correct.

  • @MrTztokjad No, it's Aluminium. Aluminum is how Americans pronounce it, because they can't pronounce any words.

  • @Samzsite Actually Aluminum is just how it comes out when you don´t have a stick up your anus.

  • @ne77s No, it is how Americans pronounce it because they don't know how to read properly. It obviously isn't spelt Aluminum, so why pronounce it that way. Al-i-min-i-um.

  • @Samzsite Do you know why the British are always trying to iceskate uphill? It is because they really miss the view.

  • @ne77s I'm British and I do not iceskate up hills.

  • @Samzsite Metaphorically, you have been ice skating up Dialect Hill this whole time.

  • @ne77s Britain isn't a country... Who ice skates up hill...

  • @Dubsteperz Never said that it was. And it was a metaphorical joke about the futility of the argument we were having...

...an argument which started with someone saying Americans can't read, and worked its way up to me having to explain that something was a metaphor, twice. ;)

  • @Samzsite both are correct, its english and some words have different pronunciations/spellings based on location.

  • @MrTztokjad Try typing Aluminum into any spell checker then.

  • @Samzsite not incorrect, when i type aluminium my spell checker goes nuts but I do type/say aluminium and I am in the states, people try to correct me but I explain it to them that both are correct and vary based on location.

  • He said 'aluminium' wrong 12 times!

  • i wanna play with the machineeee

  • O.K America, repeat after me Al----YOU----MIN----YUM one mor time AAAALLLLL------YYYYOOOOUUUUUU----MMMMMIIIIIIIINNNNN....YYYYYYUUUUMMMMM!!!!!!

  • 1 this is for canada you "know it all" cunt

2 it was called aluminum before aluminium so stfu

3 the american chemical society adopted the spelling aluminum in 1925 and the international union of pure and applied chemistry standardized the spell aluminium only 21 years ago in 1990

4 we americans are stubborn, thats why we dont use the metric system so settle the fuck down dude

5 the proper way to have explained the pronunciation would be al-yu-mi-ni-um it has 5 syllables not 4

    ignorant much???

  • @TrollingDr calm down dear, dont get a hernia I was only making a light hearted joke, chill pills are available from your local chemist I suggest you buy some =-)

  • @atomicnortherner its just ignorant fucks who think that their way is the best and only way anything should be done are annoying, besides this world wouldnt be very unique if everyone did the same thing, and we as humans will always fight with each other because it gives us something to do. different sides of town will argue with each other but team up when another town joins in and they will team up when another state joins in, as for another region, country, continent, world,

  • humans love to argue but in the end we would put our differences aside and fight together against the other guy and besides i am the trollingdr ;] u mad???

  • does anyone else want to punch this guy in the dick,or is it just me?

  • "The melting temp. is 660f" AAAALLmost there :P

  • what a waste! i mean they take like a ton of aluminum and flat in it! why don't they just cut a thin layer and flat in that! helps much more then this!

  • @toix48 because doing it the first way makes stronger metal.

  • @eljefereal dude the aluminum foil is already weak enough. we dont need it to be super strong so it doesnt rip. it rips easily. we just need it to preserve or hold food. we dont need to make it strong.

  • The guy that host this version of the show used to be an Canadian Olympic swimmer. Weird eh!.lol

  • @percaine He should have stayed in the pool.

  • shiney

  • The actual process starts from 1:44 for those who do understand the effects of hashish already...

  • thx helps a lot to skip over all that crap

  • seems like a real waste of some good aluminium

  • wtf r all the narrators homosexuals

  • metric is used in every country in the world, only U.S.A is still using backwards imperial system cause theyre rednecks lol.

  • The guy sounds like Al Gore from south park...

"You have to take me serial!"

  • I see it diddn't take long for How it's Made to ditch the queer ass narrator..

  • isnt that neat. And here I thought it was just aluminum blocks cut down to paper thin sheets

  • is it me or does the intro only end up spelling how its mad and not how its made

  • man up sweetheart....

  • when I see the guy in the start, I simply skip to 1:40, works every time :D

  • seems like a waste

  • I think the host is actually Vera de Milo from In Living Color (but dressed as a man).

  • @0endscene0 Exactly! Every time I see him I remember Vera de Milo! Ahahah LOL

  • cool

  • 1:45 - skip to the actual shit

Thumbs up to keep this alive.

  • @Hauntzor hahaha! nice one! :)

  • @Hauntzor thank you for saving my time :)

  • can i make a house for cats using it?to ensure a hotter temperature for the cats

  • the host sucks and it is alumin -I-um

  • the host sucks

  • how is a butterfly related to aluminium foil

  • i thought machines would carry 2 ton hammers and hammer aluminum

  • @dragonx20091 you missed a letter in americans

  • WOW almost everything contains water or water is needed... Imagine what would we do with out water? think about it :)

  • @pinok20 no shat, wee we wont have problem if we wound have water because we wont be here in the first place so stop warring ok

  • @pinok20 We woudnt exist without it.

  • i love aluminum especially when its melted!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL

  • where the britsh guy

  • How can it take 3 to 8 hours to melt the same amount of aluminum at the same temperature? It must be a mistake from the person who wrote this script.

  • But why is one side shiny and one dull?

  • @AlexBarclay When they roll the sheet doubled between the rollers, the side that makes contact with the rollers becomes shiny and the sides that meet each other get dull. By the way, it makes no difference whether you heat something with the shiny side inside or outside.

  • @1971ojoalparche1971 Cool thank you.

  • Comment removed

  • @AlexBarclay because they roll it double at the end of the process so it doest break(look in the freeing video) so the side in wiht the 2 sheets touch eatchter comes dull the other sides come shiney because they are pressed by rollers

  • that is the biggest neck i have ever seen.he must have got his clothes at the stat trek store.

  • kill-a-meters

  • 1:45 Vote up so people can skip the stupid intro

  • melted aluminium looks awesome.

  • hummmm intresting

  • I can certainly see why this guy never lasted on this show. I love the show, but I feel like falling asleep with this guy talking. YAWN.........!

  • this guy is annoying, why did he take out the sound of the regular person of this show >:/

  • Proud member of TFHWDLB. aka Tin Foil Hat Wearing Drama Llama Brigade~

  • he sounds like a gay. (maybe just metro)

  • That voiceover guy sounds like he has a rolling pin up his nose.

  • Comment removed

  • @quarky2001 he sounds like he has a rolling pin up his ass cause he couldn't find a dildo that wide.

  • how 'bout that shit

  • let me guess your from the uk lol all that matters if you can talk to each other that all that matters

  • Some idiot used illuminum gurters in abuilding in 1944. disaster... total disaster...

  • @perthserb ... calm down. Wow...

  • i like the color of melted foil lol

  • fuck aluminum foil my dad owns abar but now hes going to work at a boring ass aluminum foil factory fuck you aluminum

  • "with this you can keep something hot in the oven or cold in the fridge"

Lol really? I was wondering why my fridge wasn't keeping things cool, need to wrap it all up in aluminum foil x3

  • Where did they get this guy? He acts like he just rolled out of bed with a cold, threw on his model clothes and stumbled into the factory.

  • @champagnevoluptuous you are just jealous cause he's totally hot.

  • @champagnevoluptuous lol don't get mad but he's getting paid for it and trust me, like others don't care, he doesn't care because money is the answer

  • @champagnevoluptuous The how it's made narrator in the UK is possibly the worst. Puns after pun.

  • @Jacobsenacc Even i have to admit they aren't very... PUNny :D

  • @champagnevoluptuous Well. He is an Olympic GOLD medalist for one. He is also a Human Rights Hall of Fame inductie. And a recipient of the Meritorious Service Medal in Canada. "This guy" is Mark Tewksbury. How much of THAT have YOU accomplished. Or do you just sit around on YT writing snotty comments to try and feel better about your self? Idiot.

  • @newcoyote ummm nobody cares, theres a reason he is narrating a show, something a bum in america can do a hell of a lot better(look up the guy with the golden voice), he won the gold medal in the olympics, gave up decided to be a face for the human rights people, and a service medal in canada, who gives a shit about canada? thats like becoming president of antarctica, nobody cares. do you just sit around on youtube showing how much you know about someone else while you sit in your moms basement?

  • @TrollingDr I'd like to see your credentials. I doubt very much you have a doctorate in trolling. Your obvious attempt at fishing for reaction is dated and sophomoric. "mothers basement?" Puh-lees. That is so dated. Get with the new school of trolling. Subtlety is key.Anyhow thanks for the chuckle. You're cute.

  • i have a very long list of credentials, sophomoric you say??? we all have our hobbies, i like to instigate random arguments for the simple fact that it is human nature to fight with each other, whether it be for sport or dominance we shall do it none the less but you sir are different you believe that i give a shit what you have to say, and i have to disagree with your tactics of trolling while you may go for subtlety i like to be up front with everything it promotes a more vicious response and

  • therefore makes my job easier because as we all know everyone on the internet likes to think they know everything while their ignorance hides the reality from their own eyes and face it people on the internet are not very smart to begin with and that simple fact lets me make people feel stupid and educate them at the same time i will see anybody who believes strongly about something and take the opposite position only to enlighten them on their ignorance, besides it helps out my typing ;} u mad

  • @TrollingDr MmmK. You should hang out in the comments of The Onion videos then. Pretend you are really stupid and ask "Is this real?" or argue against the news cast as if it where real. Invariably some twat will come along and call you out. Don't go overboard though. You can string them along for quite awhile. Then turn it on them. I'm sure it must be very infuriating for the victim. Either that or get a life. I know. That would be silly.

  • @newcoyote i might just check it out... ha get a life thats funny im too busy doing my premed work, getting ready for med school, working, hanging out with my girlfriend and my friends to get a life, i mean who needs one anyway

  • @TrollingDr Yeah. When ever I hear someone say "Get a life" I say get a clue. As if inconsequential jabs and chit chat on YT of all places encompassed the bulk of one's waking hours.

  • @newcoyote thats because for half of the people that populate this wonderful place we call the internet, they think what goes on here actually matters, like kids in high school who are worried about being popular, who gives a fuck it doesnt matter

  • use for heroin right?

  • Uhhh. Cuz its made in Canada so yeah...its metric.

the whole world does revolve around the USA....

  • Comment removed

  • @GhostADD

nice call....anything to take the piss out of the seppo's and knock them off their high horse....... Burma, Liberia, and of course the United States the only three countries in the world not to use the International System of Units as their primary or sole system of measurement.....

  • @GhostADD I'm sitting in England. The imperial system was invented in England, metric is French and we've spent many hundreds of year at war with the smelly French.

But one has to admit when they're beat, and imperial absolutely SUCKS ASS! The US seriously needs to get off that shit, it's like being on smack

    Metric is far, far better.

  • @lexichronicle2 but we americans like our ways and resist change, thats just the way it is, we are fat, we use the imperial system we like to try and police the world and we love it, too bad most of us are too stupid to realize these simple truths and give the rest of us educated americans, though few in numbers, a bad name

  • @TrollingDr must be exhausting to know it all huh?

  • @alderaforall not so much actually knowing it but explaining it to others, so yes indirectly, knowing it all is exhausting
