  • No need to check that. Modern ones are faster - it's obvious. I'm using DE myself.

  • Lol you shaved like a fucking maniac with the fusion proglide. There is no such thing as a mach fusion.

  • You gotta do more cockpit Lear vids..NICE! This video..meh, u looked like you were trying to go faster with the fusion (maybe not..I dunno..probably just cause you were more comfortable with it ). You don't seem confident with your technique using a DE, nor should you be, if you're still cutting yourself). A better model DE, couple more years of experience & it'd be much closer. For me, Fusion is faster, but not as big a difference as it is 4 u. To each his own, its cool..Now more flying videos!

  • @1xraydoc Thanks for the comment. yeah this de sucks, but i also tried a gillette super speed. and it cute me worse. thinking about saving up for an adjustable fatboy. I really do like my 1912 single edge star a lot better than the DE. Maybe I'll do a video of me shaving with it in the lear :D thanks for kind comments, and if you subscribe i'll put more lear videos up :D

  • Oh yes, the modern razors shave faster with little mental effort. We all know that.

There are those of us who don't mind spending more time to do things in a satisfying way rather than trying to get the experience over as soon as it's started. The question also remains as to whether it's worth paying 5 times the price of replacement blades just to save 10 minutes each day. not to mention having to throw so much plastic away.

  • @wks1978 The cost to shave with a modern 5 blade razor is expensive. But the time and cuts saved are worth it to most. And I feel that the less waste argument is pointless. If you are worrying about the amount of plastic you are throwing away..then look at every milk jug, juice jug, garbage bag..etc that you throw away. razor cartridges arn't even a grain of sand in the land fill.

  • @jeffzahnd I don't throw plastic jugs away, I recycle them. 1 grain of sand is a gesture of intent. Enough individual grains of sand make a whole beach.

You prefer shaving with a cartridge razor to a double edge. We can see that. Most men do. I don't. No need to make a fancy video extolling the virtues of cartridge razors. Every Gillette ad you see on TV does that anyway.

  • @wks1978 I wasn't attacking your clean earth mission persay, but more society itself. recycling is only around because it can make someone money, not save the earth. It's human nature to care, but not do anything about it unless money is involved. I don't hate De razors at all. The video is actually a video response to another shave video about a 10 minute wetshave. I just wanted to show that they both get the job done just fine, just one takes a lot longer. Time is money, hince the cost.

  • Of course the fusion is faster but the real ? Is the quality shave your getting as for the new day razors I roll with the schick hydro 3

  • @1l2nb fusion is the best I've ever gotten. I'd say that hydro 5 blade is far second, and mach 3 isn't bad either.

  • i find i get a slightly closer shave with the fusion compared to the DE, mainly in places where it is hard to 'stretch' the skin manually using the DE. The Fusion does the stretching for you

  • I use the Gillette Mach 3 shaving system. It takes me less than 5 minutes to shave every other day. Gillette is da bomb! To hell with those DE razors- they are OLD fashion

  • @ps249 dam straights! gillette atw!

  • Very nice video and demostration. The proglide is fantastic!! Are you use the hydro 5?

  • @vannelite thanks a lot! you know, I actually picked up a hydro 5 the other day, because I found a FREE coupon! :D I really like it! But I still think that if you can afford it...proglide is the best.

  • I feel lucky having my grandfathers antique collection of DE razors to use

  • @joeforsh0 you should. those things are expensive! my grandfather gave me my great grandfathers straight razor! that is after he took a chip out of it trying to carve a piece of plastic out of a Christmans ordainment that his current girlfriend was gripping about... I guess stupid is genetic....

  • Your technique makes my sphincter clinch! But you managed no nicks, so I guess it worked.... yikes!

  • @Slave2Reason loved the comment, made me laugh. Sorry to make ya cringe :D

  • Great video man, I was looking for a video of this exact content.

  • great tutorial man, nice vid

  • @BallisticBrawler OMG positive feedback! thanks ! :D see guys, I told you someone might apreciate my efforts one day.

  • can't find anywhere to buy a double edged razor :C i live in norway :S

  • @DranweRagetotem yeah unless you live in certain countries, ...you are out of luck :/ I can't find one either! I'd hit up ebay like I did.!

  • @jeffzahnd found a site here on norway tho, Gents is the name. 10 pack tho.

  • I use a vintage Colonial curved hand strop for my double edge blade and follow up with a Bon-Hur curved glass hone. When I used the Mach Turbo, I just rinsed my razor under the water and dry shaved every thing, but now that I am whet shaving, I find it a bit more enjoyable.

  • I'm waiting for my DE to arrive, and I've tried the fusion and it's nothing like in the video. The extra blades just snag even harder on my face and I end up with a bunch of cuts.

  • @vintagelements thanks! another one to add to the list of "who you look like" :D

  • Good video man. Any suggestions for a DE razor handle/blade?

  • @rbaylis91 i haven't used a lot so I really can't give a good suggestion beside the fact that I love the 1912 single edge start that I got! looks like a torture device, but i get great shaves with it!

  • your sec pass should of been from ear to nose! not against the grain

  • where did you buy your DE?

  • @okeken ebay, it's a feather popular..I perfer my 1912 star single edge though!

  • Thanks Jeff your video was very helpful.

  • There was a lot of Humor in this video, thanks for putting the time and effort to make this!! I hope you put up some more shaving videos, you have a new subscriber, thanks again dude!!

  • @SubliminalWit hey thanks a lot man!..or lady...could be a lady right? who am i kidding, chicks don't care about shaving, they just rip it off with wax. But thanks for the subscription! :D not sure shaving videos are gonna be coming up anytime soon, but i'm going to do some review videos.

  • @jeffzahnd Ha I'm a dude man, I am too interested in making videos, Also a gamer here, I saw you do some Starcraft two which was cool, I have no clue on how to put my picture on my profile hahah! Will be looking forward to your review videos! Thanks again for taking the time to do all this, I for one, appreciate it!

  • Shaving against the grain is not a good idea seeming it can lead to ingrown hairs. Shaving is a lost art.

I highly recommend checking out Raoulpop's video on shaving with a safety razor.

  • @matenorio11 If you don't shave against the grain...then you'll never get a smooth shave, no matter how hard you try. I'd suggest you you not go against the grain in areas where you're prone to ingrowns.. such as neck.

  • @jeffzahnd Exactly no matter how I do it unless I go against the grain I can't have a proper shave, taking the 90 angle approach does help but it does not give the smooth finish of the former.

  • @matenorio11 from what I've researched is that different hair/skin types are what make us prone to ingrown hairs. White hair is more round, where black hair is more oval, making blacks more susceptible to ingrowns because it tends to curl/catch the skin. The bottom line is, if you cut your hair so short that it is able to catch under the skin and twist while growing, you can get an ingrown. So if you get ingrowns, don't shave it so smooth there and see if it helps :)

  • liked the video, clear and to the point. great job!

  • @srin101 thanks a lot! :D

  • @srin101 thanks! looking back even though It was a bit long winded, and i'd like to have fast forward capabilities...it did my best :D

  • liked the video, clear and to the point. great job!

  • Hey, I'm a proud owner of three straigt razors and one DE (I got it from my grandgrandpa ("Urgroßvater"?). I like your video, but I asked myself, what kind of shaving do you prefer?! I hate the fast way to shave with a plastic-toy, the most exiting shave I get with the straight ...

  • @Laddch exiting shaves, and fast shaves are 2 different things :D I'd rather shave with a proglide for the speed, and hang by my feet, and not let myself down till i finish for the excitement than shave with a straight :D

  • Useful video. Thanks.

  • That is a 4 day growth?! That is more like a 4 hour growth on me!

  • @RustyBlade2000 i shaved my face not my butt. You can't compare your butt growth to face growth. I'm kidding I'm kidding. I did shave my neck poorly for 4 of those days....sorry your hair growth is so fast. I've actually been trying something new. shaving before bed, and touching up once with an electric mid day. saves me on time and blades.

  • you said you where a pilot which aircraft do you fly

  • @fahimsultan93 lear jet, and king air.

  • Hey, Matthew Lillard! We meet again.

  • @one5643 haha, another looks comparison :D I've been told on here i look like john cousack, now matthew lillard..I've been told I look like adam sandler, and also the guy who puts his dick in a pie on american pie :D it's an ongoing thing

  • If you really watched the Mantic59 videos, how come your DE technique is so bad? Seriously ! In which video does he say to do blade buffing on your cheek on the first pass?

  • @asianlicensing it is a technique he shows...and my hair was long so i used it... works for me, maybe you it would work on your legs.

  • Listen to how awful that fusion sounds across the skin!

  • @4toymachine4 I thought it sounded manly! or...a lot like someone running in corduroy pants :D

  • @jeffzahnd,

Appreciate the time and video Jeff! I too shave regularly with "Old School Razors" The fastest shave I achieve is from my DE shave. I have totally boycotted modern disposable razors. I was an avid Gillette Mach Turbo shaver for years! Since I got a freebie in the mail, I think in the 90's. I use antique straights, wedge bladed safetys, and the gillette fatboy. I even rehone my Modern DE blades and use the same one til if get tired of re sharpening them. I vintage DE sharpening tools

  • Comment removed

  • @BigChiefMike what in the fuck are you talking about? troll ya later baby cakes.

  • @jeffzahnd ... oh wait, that wasn;t for you haha

  • Bic Metal...almost as good as a DE Shave...5 pack cost arond $3....Try it...

  • @bacardipr05 I'll look it up! thanks for the suggestion! now a suggestion for you, wilkons swords 3 blade razor at walmart. cheap blades compared, but with modern shave attributes!

  • @jeffzahnd Thanks Jeff...

  • @DolceGabbanaBYMAN .... whatever

  • @DolceGabbanaBYMAN wow you are getting way too hostile about a razor... it's just shaving

  • @DolceGabbanaBYMAN love it. I've used a gilette super speed. and it sucked 2.

  • and by the way I use feather DE and blades are feather too. This equipment is highly sharp and precise so you v got to be 99% trained for big boy tools. Nice clip but not every man have the same thickness of beard hair. With fusion razor I was able to use it only 3 times Max. thanks and good luck with cutting your self.

  • @zenek0077 you must have gotten a bad blade.. I literally was able to use this blade for over 2 months. it's insane how sharp it stayed.

  • Fusion won t go on my hair so easy like you did on your clip. Usually one day beard with fusion took the same time as with DE now. First you all got to go through boot camp of cuts and blood spilling all over the sink but is worthed. DE gets you closer not like fusion over priced thing.

  • nice clip but not real at least not real with me. DE razor is hard to adjust but after week of shaving every day we will get it. Shaving is little longer but closer and cheeperrr.

  • Dude ,you are working for Gilette ,no doubt about that. The De is the ultimate razor .How about trying to cut one week -bear,then post some results.I'll tell you what will hapen, your Fusion will be stucked with hairs and in no condition to use unless you are using tons of water to wash him.

  • @vladupe wish i was working for gillette.. i'm a pro pilot so a weeks worth of hair is hard to come by, since i have to be clean shaven. de's get clogged way more than the fusion. and i'm not ripping on de's. they give good shaves, just a time money issue. i still shave with my single edge 1912 atleast once every 3 days. and I use a gem blade, not gilette. :)

  • Another factor is money. A new DE razor is around $30, or you can get one used on Ebay for around $15. After that DE razor blades are very inexpensive. My guess is that over time the cartridge razor is going to be much more expensive to use. DE shaving isn't fast, but it is relaxing, and if done right is kind of like giving your face a little spa treatment. But nice video, and thanks for sharing.

  • @mishima666 thanks for the comment. yeah shaving with a DE is a lot cheaper over time. problem is most don't have just one :)

  • You must have a fairly coarse beard. I guess mine is not so much. It doesn't take me anywhere near that long to get satisfactory results with a DE, but you are right in that there is a technique to be learned that takes some time. You should do advertisements for Gillette products, standing out in front of your Lear with a leather flight jacket giving a thumbs up while your girlfriend oohs and aahs over your shave, "the best a man can get!". The Fusions are faster and safer, no doubt, but +$.

  • @acbulgin2 ha! thanks for the post. maybe I could super glue 3 fusions together and cut my time down by a bout 5 seconds :) that would be something I 'd watch!

  • Don't know how I got here but I just realized when watching this video that watching a man shave is incredibly sexy!

  • @crazygoofu2 ha! thanks! u should tell that to gillette...i could use a shaving/modeling job :)

  • your killing your skin, your making 3 passes over the same area, you should stick with your fusion razor, because that's how your shaving with a DE.

shaving for 8 months and you still cant go "down" and "up" and get all the hairs. you go from short hack strokes to long ones, then go over the same spot, and reapply then repeat that process.

  • Those powered razors are a huge gimmick and a waste of money. The regular fusion works fine.

  • I've seen more hair on a peach!

  • @MrZocor ha! I like this guy! I'll give you a thumbs up myself!

  • He should actually have something to shave before he shows you! Meaningless that way!

  • @MrZocor If you can't tell that my face needs shaved from the video...you're fucking blind. But incase your blind, I put in shots of before I shaved at 8:29...if you can't see it then....You're really fucking blind...

  • Double edge razor are like the ford model T and modern day Gillette/ Schick razor's are like a Ferrari Enzo, speed is better......

  • Hey dude thanks that was very helpful. I'm in the process of getting a DE and this made me realize I'm making the right choice thanks again.

  • @RockitSkates thanks for the positive comment, and taking what you did from the video. The problem I have with DE's is that there are just so many choices, with so many different price points! Everyone talks about how much cheaper DE shaving is due to blade price. But show me someone who only owns 1 DE :P it's an addiction! be careful :)

  • awesome

  • you're not following mantic's mantra of short strokes with the blade! I just cringed when I saw you shave in the above video. How did you avoid cutting your face open? If i shaved that fast with my crappy gilette mach 3 i'd be in hospital right now, lol!

  • @blueshift86 short strokes for different folks :) I have no problem shaving fast with a mach 3,, even faster with the pro-glide..short strokes aren't necessary with my face i guess... I'd rather do 2 fast passes, than a long short stroke marathon :P

  • @jeffzahnd i kept shrieking when watching those fast strokes as i have the worst type of facial hair for that! If i tried to do what you did i'd be very cut up! Looked very painful, but glad it doesn't affect you :). I have very thick, coarse facial hair, and I have to shave slowly else i would a) not get a proper shave and b) get lots of nicks/cuts.

  • @blueshift86 i shave faster than that... when you do it everyday, sometimes while running late for work, you just learn to get it done. it shouldn't take you 40minutes to shave. it's a simple task. get it done.

  • @emericanchaos i'm working on it :). 40 mins was my first DE shave ever. It's down to 20 mins now, and with more practice i'll be 10 :).

  • How much are Fusion blades? I got 10 Wilkinson Sword DE blades at WalMart for $1.79. And I'm not filling up the landfill with plastic. And I'm in touch with my inner Grandpa.

  • @presbyterosBassI After having a look today (in the UK) an 8 pack of Gilette fusions are £17.99, about $30...it's just not comparable!

  • I prefer the DE. I have a Merkur as well. Although the 4 day beard in this video is rather weak.

  • Thanks for the video. Yes, there is no question about it, the Fusion is faster and better suited to those who might have a hand tremor or those who are clumsy. It is sad to think that life has become so rushed that no one can take his time with anything, but there it is. I have a DE safety razor (Merkur) as well, and it works fine, but it does take a bit longer. So I keep both around. If I am in a hurry, I use the Fusion. Always brush your teeth for 2 minutes though, and use a Sonicare.

  • @acbulgin2 the sonicare is the fusion of toothbrushes. you should be able to brush in 10 seconds compared to the 2 minutes it takes with a DE toothbrush :P

  • @jeffzahnd Ha! Yeah, you ought to be able to, but all it does is do the work for you quite thoroughly so that it is somewhat easier to brush for the required 2 minutes. The Sonicare is one of the few consumer products out there that actually makes a real difference in one small but very important area of hygiene. I am sold on them. You can get the same result with a regular toothbrush, but it requires more effort. As for razors, which one I use depends on how rushed or cheap I feel. :-)

  • Shaving with a DE is so much more cost effective and a better shave, I will never go back to shaving with a Mach 3 Fusion or whatever, Never been in a rush to shave either, get up earlier or adopt it as i have as a enjoyable ritual.

  • It takes me maybe 5 or 6 mins with my DE & no cuts or nicks lol

  • That was good. I like objective reports on stuff, and that was very objective and very well done. thanks for posting

  • @driscojf thanks for the positive comment! :)

  • Did you cut yourself any or less with the fusion?

  • @alltelman5 nope....

  • @ 1:42 it's spelled "meant" not ment

  • @remogaggi82 thanks professor

  • good video

  • The Fusion shaves nice. I got one as a free sample but the cost for blades is insane. Plus, they clog very easily. The clogs cant be removed. That's why I switched to a DE. I got 200 blades for less than $20. They will last me years. The savings are well worth the extra few minutes it may take to shave. I will never go back to multiblades.

  • for all those complaining about my speed that I shave with the fusion, I made the video specifically to show how fast you can shave with the fusion if you really wanted to. the video is a response to mantic doing a 10 minute De shave, which is awesome if you have the time. the "technique" i used with my de in this video isn't great I know this, that's why I put it on the comments, not to try and learn tech from this. I was just trying to see how fast I could shave with each.

  • 1. Shaving isn't a race.

    2. Your technique with the DE is sub par, otherwise it would take you less time.

    3. You use too much pressure, especially with the Mach 3.

  • @hcoll same pressure i used to shave your mom's puss with...

  • @jeffzahnd Yeah, real mature..

  • @hcoll what ya mom said.

  • @jeffzahnd I don't think that last comment made any sense

  • @jeffzahnd I'm sorry, but I agree with hcoll. You seem to be running this test as "How can I execute this bullshit daily ritual we all have to do, known as shaving, the fastest?" It isn't a secret that cartridge razors are much faster and easier to use, therefore you might as well name your video "electric pencil sharpener vs knife." Buying a DE in a cartridge ridden world allows for an enjoyable shaving experience similar to what one may experience at the barber, and for nostalgia.

  • Nice video. The fusion is not a razor for me. I am using a DE razor. I take my time to shave. A safetyrazor shaves very smooth The only difference between a modern cartridge razor and a safety razor is TIME! The both will give you a very smooth shave but with DE razor you need skills,. You don't need skills with a MachIII or fusion razor.

    Nice video!

  • Not clear on exact type of Fusion. I have to agree, WAY too fast with the Fusion, esp. if it is a Fusion Power model. The main benefit (and improvement) in my opinion is that it lets you use a slow, steady, & gentile pressure techneque that allows it to do all the work, giving superior results to anything I've used previously. I used both Norelco & Braun electrics for 10-15 years, but became disatisfied & thought I'd try Gillette's latest. Replacement blade expense is rediculous, however.

  • The mach fusion looks extremely tacky in my opinion. All the plastic gives it a really "cheap" feel. The cost of the de razor itself was more but it was worth it because it was something you could be proud to own.

  • my video was a response to mantics 10 minute de shave video. I made this video to try and add to his by showing how fast I can shave with a DE, vs the Proglide....true shaving with a DE is "more fun" but time is money....and I can take my time to shave with a multi blade razor and get just as good of a shave. I DE shave when I can because of the cost, 5 cents a blade and you can get 7 shaves with it! just gotta take more time :)

  • Great video. What you put out there is very useful. I am thinking about a DE because cartridges are so expensive. I happened to be at Walmart the other day and found the DE blades but not the actual razor. Not sure what razor is best. Thanks again!

  • I am considering starting to shave with a DE. And from the videos i've watched here like Mantic and GeoFatboy - you NEVER go over the same are over and over and over again. Take the time to do 3 passes and ENJOY the shave. That's the whole point of old school shaving - to ENJOY the shaving process that ends in a close shave.

  • Do you need any special shaving foam or can you just use normal ones that you would use with a Gillette?

  • @EZbakeROFLcakes use whatever you like...just as long as it gives you a nice slick face. Soldiers where said to use peanut butter in the world wars when they didn't have anything else around.

  • This video is a breath of fresh air. I have been using a DE razor now for about 5 months and struggle to see what all the fuss is about. My cartridge razors are far superior in just about every way besides cost. I still shave with my DE's every now and again for the fun of it, Maybe i'm being impatient, but I just don't feel the extra time it takes is worth it.

Using a badger hair brush with some good quality shaving cream was well worth the investment though :D

  • @SpitfireK5054 thanks for the comment ;) your experiences are just like mine. A LOT of people like DE shaving. for me, a cartridge is way better/easier/smoother. walmart has a wilkinsons 3 bladed razor now that isn't bad at all for the price. did a review of it on the shaving forum. it's not a proglide but it's good for the price.

  • i use a safety razor ( DE ) and it's way better than a mach 3, but it is alot easier to cut yourself if you are not carefull

  • @JSauer89 a lot of people swear that their de's do a better job at shaving than the leading cartridge razors. I just cannot agree. for me the cartridge gets you a baby smooth shave in alittle bit of no time and is much "safer" than that safety razor :P

  • @jeffzahnd Yeah regular razors can get you really smooth but it's alot easier with the DE, one swipe and all that hair is gone haha, it's mainly about how well you like shaving, if you hate it and want to get it over with use a mach 3, if you like "old school" things and shaving is relaxing/therapeutic get a safety razor.

  • Does the second DE shave need to be agaisnt the grain?

  • @JunkOnVideo my advise is this. always go with the grain first pass. if you're face can take a against the grain the second pass and not get irritated then do it. if you tend to get irritated, i'd try an second pass across the grain, then the third pass against the grain. The key is to know your limit on your face. my face is like steel, but my neck is not. So i rarely go against the grain on my neck, unless I really concentrate and it's for an important date :P

  • wow, if I tried to shave myself like you did with the mach, i'd be knicked up and cut everywhere.. holy

  • Incidentally, you look a little bit like Matthew Lillard.

  • @one5643 eh..not seeing it. we are both white and have dark hair, i'll give you that :P

  • I need to man up get myself a double edged razor. Electric just does not cut it.

  • @one5643 I got a 200 dollar philips electric razor for xmas. took it back after two shaves. the shaves arn't anywhere as close, it takes about the same time just doing it with a mach 3, and it actually irritates my face more than any razor....

  • some say it is to stimulate your hair to rise up to get a closer cut.

  • What's the point of the power/vibration in the new Fusion?

  • Hi,

i really like your shaving videos.

    Are you gonna make more?

  • @jonathanxxx1 I just noticed I have close to 20,000 views on this video now. And I know it's only due to the fact that Manic let me put this up as a video response to his video, so I have to think him for that. I might make a video for my single edge star 1912 vs video. but i don't think i'll get the views that this one gets due to it's connection to manics....

  • Not a bad idea. I kind of see this video as a public service. I found your test helpful. Hope comments like these will make it worth your while to offer other tests.

  • @chungiemunchin It definitely does help a lot. I get a lot of comments on not liking my technique I use, etc. BUT everyone has their own technique...and that's how I shave "FAST" with a DE. I got very interested in DE and straight edge shaving when I went on ebay and tried to find some cartridges for cheep...but compared to the DE's you can't touch the price per shave. But after the charm of the old wore off, I wanted to go back and show what that extra cash buys you...and that's time :)

  • @chungiemunchin because of your comment I am going to consider doing a "quick" shave review/test with the wilkinson swords 3 bladed razor that are being sold in walmart now for about 5 bucks for 4 cartridges. which is a complete steal when compared to a proglide which is breaking 20 dollars for a 4 pack. I do have some issues with the razor, but I think I can make it into a "public service" to let everyone know it's good and bads :)

  • mantic is fucking creepy

  • @ucihapokujin hahaha! ok, so he's the "creepy uncle" that you never had :P

  • @ucihapokujin Dude don't bash Mantic59. he's taught many men how to properly shave and I owe him for the lack of pain in my daily shave.

  • does the beard hairs get caught in the razor like no matter how many times i smack the hell outta my disposable ones i can't get the hair out

  • @weathered79 I'm afraid I don't understand your question. Maybe this will answer it though. With the DE, you have to constantly wash out the razor with water to unclog. With the Proglide I feel like I can shave my whole face without ever washing it out. The hair never clogs it up.

  • @jeffzahnd thats what i was wondering thank you i will definitly have to get one of these

  • @weathered79 Actually the hairs in the DE dont get clogged. I have the same issue with my fusion. The hair never comes out

  • I appreciate your video and I use a merkur DE I love it but i do notice a little razor burn at times and cut the hell out of my chin been using it for about 8 months now.

  • @ynguns2 Thanks for your comment. I have yet to use a Merkur anything. I have tried my cousins superspeed (that I bought him as a present off Ebay). That thing cuts me to pieces! have to be careful :)

  • I just started DE wet shaving last week. I think I'm already addicted and wish I could shave more than once a day! There's definitely a learning curve but it's fun and I don't mind. Fawk Gilette and their $20 per 4 pack refills for the Fusion. That thing performed well enough but absolutely nothing special and when you factor in the price, one of the worst mass-marketing ripoffs ever. Gilette is LOLing all the way to the bank.

  • Tried to do a quick shave with a mach 3 new blade. didn't turn out as well as my proglide video :P ate my chin up. forgot I gotta do a xtg pass with that razor :P

  • I personally will stick to the DE because ever since i started using it, all my acne, pimples, irritation and all the BS stopped because you don't cut into the skin. The fusion cuts below the skin. But it also seems that you have a very dense hair growth on your face and the cartridge razors won't bother you. Am i correct?

  • @goatkiller68 It's funny you say this, because I've read comments like your's about razor bumbs, which I don't have a problem with at all. maybe it's due to my thick beard, and the shape of my hair. If you like the single blade action of your DE then you might try a Single edge razor! I LOVE my 1912 star a lot more than any DE i've tried.

  • @jeffzahnd what is the name of the razor you are using.

  • Not bad really, the video accomplished what you set out to do, which was show the difference in time needed to shave with a DE vs. a multi-blade razor. That said, you must have skin of iron, as I would have completely torn my faze to shreds if I tried to use a DE razor with that technique. If you can get away with it, more power to you, but ouch!

As far as the time difference goes, I can complete a 3-pass shave with my DE in about 10-15 min. incl lather building. A cart saves me about 3-4 min

  • @triumphtwin De's take me forever, and a cartridge I can get a decent shave in 1 minute with shave gel and proglide :)

  • remember, he said not to focus on his technique, or I should say, sloppy/lack there of. DE will always take longer. The goal is not to go quickly, but to take time and use proper technique to get an awesome quality shave and avoid all the problems that are caused by bad technique and multi-blade razors. That being said, this video is a good example of what not to do.
