Amy was obviously having fun there. Like many artists/musicians/etc we only know her for the work she's given us, which we're lucky to have. We don't have to be sad still, she died well before her time but had a lot of experiences in her short life that she was kind enough to share with us.
You missed the best bit of this episode which was Amstell reciting the next line to Hava nagila, hava nagila (Hava nagila venis'mecha) and Amy can't help but let the truly nice jewish girl in her glow with approval. She then tries to say about Amstell "In another life we'd be married." but is sadly drowned out. The bit where she says "Do I look like Russell Brand?" and they all chorus "Yes!", just for a second her soul is laid bare for all to see and it is heartbreaking.
@notsohappyabdi And why did she become addicted to substances? Probably loads of emotional pain. You have no soul if you think it's hilarious. Complete and utter apathy, really? Obviously your comment is what we all might THINK, but SAYING it makes it fucked up, cause you thought about it and didn't care. WHAT?! Sleep is the cure for embarrassment?? Probably why your mother's always dozing. Trying to forget you. Sad child.
@HurtMeSoul108 When the jokes were being made about her addictions in this show, Amy brushed it off. She didn't care.
Who are you to judge and say that the comment is fucked up. This isn't a fucking funeral this is fucking youtube and people can say what they fucking like.
I don't fucking know Amy Winehouse personally so I don't see why I should be sadder about her than the nameless children dieing in Sierra Leone, at least Amy Winhouse had a chance.
@SirAdvokat "When the jokes were being made about her addictions in this show, Amy brushed it off. She didn't care." Uhh, yes, which is why this episode was hilarious. The ignorant, insensitive mocking of her actually being dead this time, not so hilarious. "This is fucking youtube and people can say what they fucking like." You just reminded me of my favourite saying: "People often demand freedom of speech as a compensation for the freedom of thought which they seldom use." TWAT!!
"I may disagree with what you have to say, but I shall defend to the death your right to say it." Voltaire
People can say what they want, you don't have to fucking agree with it. If they were thinking it anyway there's no actual difference with actually saying it. Apart from the fact pussies like you get all butthurt because they can't take how the world really is.
@SirAdvokat Exactly, yet, you decided to comment to me, months after my original comment, telling me not to say what I said? You're full of contradiction, and full of shit. If I'm a pussy, how can I get butthurt? Exactly, you make no sense, once again. I'm sorry to burst your bubble, but the world isn't you and your friends. The world is split with compassionate people, and assholes. You're an asshole, I'm not. Get a fucking life, dick. I hope somebody makes light of your death.
@HurtMeSoul108 This moron. You don't get it, do you? I never told you "not to say what you said" I told you that you were a complete retard, and wrong. I'll explain again, (you're obviously quite slow) you can say what you like, doesn't mean you're right. In fact you voicing your gay little utopian views gives me the oppurtunity to highlight how stupid they are.
There is a world outside of your basement kid, people can say what the fuck they want.
@SirAdvokat Also, you seem to spend a lot of time talking smack to people on here, so you're obviously even more of a fucktard than you already showed. Ignorant, racist, arrogant, bigoted fuck. Switch places with Amy.
@HurtMeSoul108 It's cute that you saw how flawed your assertions have been and you felt the need to stalk my profile to gather extra info to use arguementem ad hominem.. Kinda creepy too - I feel sorry for your facebook friends (you probably don't have many)
Sadly this isn't a rap battle, you sad little kid. Try arguing reasonably without swearing every two words(swearing doesn't make you seem any scarier, just more pathetic) before calling me an "asshole" and yourself as "not"
@Fragona13 just out of curiosity, if you dont like Amy Winehouse...why watch this clip entitled 'Amywinehouse on Never mind the buzzcocks' - just askin'
Oh, the Hell have a band: Sid Vicious on the bass, Johnny Thunders on guitar, Amy on vocals, Jerry Nolan on drums... sorry, but these persons had talent, but no brains!
Just because someone has a drug problem, it doesn't mean they can't be a nice person, or a funny person, or an intelligent person, or a kind person and I think this video proves that.
@fredmila I may just not "get" the cheeky humor of the Brits but on a public forum like that it became more of a roast of Amy before the shows end, it just seemed mean-spirited for cheap laughs even though we all shared his concern overall. I just felt bad with all of the crack jokes and they were just for laughs and shot like daggers after a while, coming at her at any opportunity, not even relevant at some points. oh well. RIP AmyJade!
@sanareed You got it in one, in Britain even top artists like Amy do not get to be venerated like Hollywood artists do in the USA (and elsewhere). And people like Amy do not take themselves that seriously unlike American artists who think they are in this world to save it (like some Michael Jackson)
@tsn85 So while some may have JUST fallen in Love w/ Amy, she (and Adele), had me before the first verse was even finished. As far as her troubles, “I think” her biggest problem was loving too hard and not getting it in return from the men she loved and she tried to numb her emotions away, I know that love can make an emotionally attached person CrAzY and she turned her love to the vices that would always love her back in the form of a high.
@tsn85 I loved Amy long before she died, I fell in love w/ her voice the day Rehab was released here in America. I fell in love w/ her personality the day I saw her Grammy Award acceptance speech, which I found so genuine/cute and STILL hv on vcr tape. I’ve LONG been disappointed by new American Soul/R&B artists who fail 2measure up2 the talent, creativity/authenticity of British artists Amy and Adele who have been at the TOP of MY list of true artist/ singers TOPPLING artists here for years.
I disliked this video ONLY because I literally disliked the way Simon continued to dig deep and deeper into Amy w/ the attacks, a few were funny but then it was enough after awhile and even she was quite annoyed. Amy had a lovely personality and I adore her!
@sanareed You only love her because she's dead. She bought everything on herself and did nothing to help herself, it's a pity she's dead but it was her on fault.
@sanareed Simon was her friend and he was actually trying to get her to stop drinking and taking drugs. It is only that this is a comedy show so he did it in a jokey way. Good on him for insisting.
She took a genre of music that she loved and singers she admired and literally channeled for them, resurrecting them, for an unappreciative talentless-techno-pop-remix world.
She was talented, independent, and intuitive.
So, pause, take a look at the world around you...culturally, socially. If looking at that doesn’t make you want both do something drastic to change the world (which she did) or live oblivious to it, then you aren’t perceptive enough, or smart enough to get what you are seeing.
@Fragona13 There is a difference between worship and respect. She was a great person, so I do find it sad but I don't worship her, but I'd like to see you try and achieve anything that she achieved, so go fuck yourself!
@Thejammington82 So do you think I am jealous of her? No fucking way! I'd take my health over money. So yes I think I've achieved more. Great person? Not that you knew her or anything besides all we hear is her getting in to fights or pissed on stage. Did she donate all her unneeded money to charity, nope she brought drugs. You are worshipping her.
@Fragona13 Just because someone got her hooked on heroin doesn't mean they can't be a good person underneath that. Did you know that when she ADMITTED HERSELF TO REHAB dealers were throwing crack over the fucking walls, and actually she did do stuff for charity, so go fuck yourself you stuck up cunt. :D
@Thejammington82 Don't you get it, I don't care for her any more than any other junkie. As I am sure you wont care for many of the deceased musics that I was influenced by. Now pleases shut up ffs.
She was hilarious as well as so so talented. But if people want to dwell on the sadness of her journey .. you missed the point. Her raw emotions enabled her to take you on her journey through her song. RIP Darling Amy xx

Seriously Fuck you Amy Winehouse, thats what you get for abusing drugs and alcohol. NO SYMPATHY from me especially when there was 92 Innocent children in Norway who was killed for no reason, so my sympathies goes to them not your coked up drunk ass....
@SuperForzee shut the fuck up and have respect for the dead. I dont even want to talk about people in norway - the killer wants all the publicity he can get so dont help him by spreading the word. Amy winehouse literally changed my life. She inspired me in ways i didnt think were possible, which lead to me moving over 300 miles away. She was a talent and an icon and i dont care what you think. Amys death really was a tragic loss
her death is a loss to her drug dealer thats it. Seriously why should I give my condolences to a woman who died because she was pissed out of her skull 24/7 and took line after line of cocaine? but NOOOO because she is dead she is treated as a saint, what's going to happen when Ian Huntley dies then hmmm? are you going to be his best pal saying "Have some respect for dead yeah I know he killed 2 innocent kids but he is still the best caretaker ever" ?
@SuperForzee Are you an idiot? Amy Winehouse didn't physically harm or kill anyone, she was a victim of addiction. There's nothing wrong with fans paying their respect to the deceased.
@SuperForzee You're jokes arent even funny. Actually if you did your research you'll find it was trying to get clean what killed her. but im not even going to entertain a troll. goodbye
Great blog post which mentions this legendary Buzzcocks appearance, hitting back at the haters... milkingitblog.blogspot.com/2011/07/chasing-amy.html
If you have nothing to say don't say anything at all. Amy Winehouse was an amazing artist despite her troubled personal life. We all have bad days and we all have demons but unfortunately her bad days lasted longer than most. We need to separte her personal life from her captivating talent and move on. I don't think it's fair that people are making nasty comments about her giving that everything they know is what is portrayed in the media. R.I.P babes.. I will miss you..
"ur gona drink urself to death" hmmm... Such a shame another wasted talent lost by drugs... Wish ppl wld realise wot drugs do to u n stop seeing it as being "cool" !!! Rip. Amy!
I get why people turn into Alcolholics as its legal and its easy for people to fall without realising but heroin is illegal and its common knowledge that its extremely addictive and dangerous so why fucking take it ?!?!
@24rusguy most people believe themselves to the exception "Yeah, no one else can handle it but *I'll* be able to". This mindset is often backed by people around them (I'll let Simon name the names). And people don't just pick up heroin one day. People don't have problems with alcohol - people have problems that they want alcohol to make go away. For a while it works. But what if it stops working and your problems are still there? For some people the only answer is to turn to harder stuff.
@24rusguy Because some people have addictive personalities. Obviously, no one in their right mind would do it but once you've built up a tolerance to the other shit you were addicted to like, alcohol or less harmful drugs you will go to something harder. When you have an addictive personality combined with other issues, you aren't thinking about your health and you don't even realize when you're stepping into a cycle of abuse. You just turn around and you're already there and it's too late.
I love that part where she says "Yeah, it's my new thing", Simon goes like "I heard it was crack", and she replies "Do I look like Russel Brand ? oh wait ..."
I loved how brutally frank Amy was about other artists, that Katie Melua quote was priceless! R.I.P Amy, taken in her prime, another member of the 27 club :(
She seemed like a lovely girl -- clearly very funny and hugely talented. It's a shame that her addiction overtook her, that she never could get the help she needed. RIP Amy.

@ silarnon The really chilling part here is she says she's going to see Pete Docherty later, Simon jokes that Pete just wants to sell her drugs....
Which is exactly what happened. Docherty got her on to hard drugs. The rest is ugly history.
i think youll find it was her husband blake

I get why people turn into Alcolholics as its legal and its easy for people to fall without realising but heroin is illegal and its common knowledge that its extremely addictive and dangerous so why fucking take it ?!?!
24rusguy 7 months ago 2
@24rusguy most people believe themselves to the exception "Yeah, no one else can handle it but *I'll* be able to". This mindset is often backed by people around them (I'll let Simon name the names). And people don't just pick up heroin one day. People don't have problems with alcohol - people have problems that they want alcohol to make go away. For a while it works. But what if it stops working and your problems are still there? For some people the only answer is to turn to harder stuff.
kaitzi 7 months ago
@24rusguy Because some people have addictive personalities. Obviously, no one in their right mind would do it but once you've built up a tolerance to the other shit you were addicted to like, alcohol or less harmful drugs you will go to something harder. When you have an addictive personality combined with other issues, you aren't thinking about your health and you don't even realize when you're stepping into a cycle of abuse. You just turn around and you're already there and it's too late.
