The end of an era for so many. Last game that Roberts and Reichel played for Toronto. Last career playoff game for Mogilny, Domi, and HoFers Leetch, Nieuwendyk, and Belfour. HoFer Ron Francis could not play in Game 6 and retired in offseason. Kaberle would win Cup with Boston in 2011.

What a great sequence.....non stop action....intense crowd....THUNDEROUS hit....... great goal to win a playoff series. I actually miss the days of the Leafs being good and making the playoffs. That was a fun rivalry.

I still think in terms of crazy leaf overtimes the Game 5 against Ottawa is better.

@Stevenio the leafs dominated the entire game..the bad play of ed belfour lost them this game.. i watched the entire game the other day its on the flyers 40th aniversary dvd set..somik n roenick scored on like the only chances the flyers had while the leafs dominated attack time the whole game just like they did in overtime..it was a crazy game.

ballackstyle, the whole season where your team finished dead last and we swept you that season was the best time of my life, and I live in Philadelphia to rub it all back in their faces. You won't believe the shit I had to put up with all the year before from your side. I didn't start it either.
And know one can really appreciate what kapanen did. got back to his feet, sent out the new line and continued the play of the game with back and forth and back again rushes with roenick scoring. Unbelievable. Can't wait til the season starts in 2 weeks.
Can't say enough about Kapanen. The crowd noise is intense in Toronto, I can't imagine seeing a game there or Montreal. Loved JR as a Flyer. You also see how valuable Primeau was as a Captain. That guy is Phily's version of Cam Neely...I can't imagine if he was still on this team along with Hatcher and all of these new guys they have.
If this wasn't Tucker's biggest cheap shot, check the knee on knee hit he gave Michael Peca the year before. At least McCabe wasn't a -5 in this game like he was in game 5

This is one of the most entertaining OT's in NHL History - JJ is awesome, That hit was awesome, Kapanen showing the courage to get back to the bench was awesome, Roenick's shot was awesome.. and still in end, you get the handshake.. pure awesome, as if I hadnt said that word enough :P Awesome clip :)
I was at this game...I was sitting up in the greens and I remember EVERYONE was on their feet the whole time, the crowd was going insane, and Tucker comes up with that huge hit, I thought the place might explode-the railings in front of the seats were shaking! and then Leafs head up the ice, Sundin gets high sticked right in the face (1:49), n he was bleeding, then Roenick up ice, scores, dead silence
wow i'm a leafs fan but i have a lot of respect for kapenen trying to get off the ice.. he could have stayed down and let his team play short but he got up. that shows a lot of heart. it was a MONSTER hit though, damn tucker filled him in haha
Without question it was a great series. No sport compares to sudden death playoff hockey. Certainly not boring NFL (7-8 minutes of actual ball in play)...overrated

that was a great playoff series. i dont know how the leafs didnt score there you had soo many opportunitys and the momentum. unfortunatly my flyers lost the next series vs the leafs.

Two things that pissed me off.
1) Bryan Leetch caught pinching once again. (see Canada vs USA in Salt Lake too)
2) How the Leafs allowed Two 2 on 1's in OT.
Pat Quinn was out-coached in this one IMHO...

Leafs blew this series big time...lost a couple of games early on that they should've won and the Flyers made them pay...It's sad, but this was the last time the Leafs were in the playoffs and may not be back there for a while...JR has always been a Leaf-killer; always wanted to see him in blue & white....

I miss the good old days of having the luxury of hating Tie Domi.... guys like him were so good at pissing fans off. Now, the "new, improved" NHL kinda threw those guys out the window.... Shame, they made for some great rivalries.

My god I will not forget this. Crazy OT don't know how the lEafs didn't win. Sad thing is, I seriousley wonder the next time the Leafs are in a situation like this again.... maybe 2-3 years. Jeez, intense, damn you JR.

This is one of the most entertaining OT's in NHL History - JJ is awesome, That hit was awesome, Kapanen showing the courage to get back to the bench was awesome, Roenick's shot was awesome.. and still in end, you get the handshake.. pure awesome, as if I hadnt said that word enough :P Awesome clip :)

I was at this game...I was sitting up in the greens and I remember EVERYONE was on their feet the whole time, the crowd was going insane, and Tucker comes up with that huge hit, I thought the place might explode-the railings in front of the seats were shaking! and then Leafs head up the ice, Sundin gets high sticked right in the face (1:49), n he was bleeding, then Roenick up ice, scores, dead silence

wow i'm a leafs fan but i have a lot of respect for kapenen trying to get off the ice.. he could have stayed down and let his team play short but he got up. that shows a lot of heart. it was a MONSTER hit though, damn tucker filled him in haha

Without question it was a great series. No sport compares to sudden death playoff hockey. Certainly not boring NFL (7-8 minutes of actual ball in play)...overrated

this was one of the best playoff games i've ever watched. mere seconds after sami kapanen nearly gets beheaded by that punk darcy tucker, JR wins it for the flyers. oh i had goosebumps that night. i miss the old NHL!

What a great great game (and series) this was LEAFS were down 2-0 in the third I belive Mats scored two goals to tie it. The Leafs always go out in style. I was disapponited in the end but you gotta give the Flyers credit
