  • Nice video of legs crammed into the dash

  • hahahah...at the end he was like "wow, u can hear the engine"...that was my exact same thought when i redlined my first S..man s2000's and there owner's usually tend to be awsome!!!!

  • HONDA POWER

  • When I test drive cars, I really test drive them. Most people do not fully test drive their cars. You need to test drive for these things; low/high speed, smooth/rough roads, roads with severe elevation changes, and you will see all that the engineer's deeds have been done properly. When I test drove the S2000, I could not be more amazed at how well it handles (not only at the limit) but how liveable it is compared to the BMW Z4 which has HORRIBLE ride quality and not much quicker to boot.

  • I didn believe at first how short thro the stick was but wow haha

  • he said can u feel the other engine? lol.. ya i can hear it too. hahaha. nd that my friend is what u call, V-Tech. (: ohhhh yeaaa

  • wth? more out of the art then the function? that old guy needs to go back to driving his lexus.

  • listening to the high rev song of a s2000 vtec engine is my automotive nirvana. I have never had a car that felt so visceral. I have owned fast cars (corvette c5, mustang gt, trans am turbo, and 350z, but they were souless compared to my "cheap" little honda. Plus the gearbox on my S2000 has me so damn spoiled i dont think i could drive anything else that didnt feel as smooth as my S.

  • all i hear is good things about these i want one!

  • @xxnissansilviaxx thats cuz they are awesome :D

  • @whitebrad25 yea they are...but i think it wud be hard to daily one of them plus they get broken into alot from wat i hear...i want a genesis 3.8 if i ever get a sports car my next car will be a civic si

  • @xxnissansilviaxx no....i daily my S and on the forums there are many that have...i suppose it is no more suseptable to break ins than any other car...cuz if a theif really wants your ish, he will get it....i wouldnt buy a hyundia...haha. but dont rat the S out..

  • @whitebrad25 i never thought i wud buy a hyundai either but they cheap got that 10 year 100k miles warrenty and they quik...less than 6secs 0-60 idk ima honda head forever but now i got something else i am intererested in fucking hyundai...i mean they got a 2.0liter turbo sonata rite its got 274hp okay...and honda has v6 accord with 3.5liters 271hp! wtf go hyundai!

  • @xxnissansilviaxx yea.......there is the problem ha.....IMO, the only good cars made by honda are the s2000, and nsx....they are in a class by themselves...so if youre into other honda cars, have fun with your genesis...

  • @whitebrad25 lol i was just saying damn...wat do u drive rite now?

  • @xxnissansilviaxx hahaha, its cool.

i have a 2000 honda S2000. check my video. im gunna make more since i droppped it 1.5" all around and got my exhaust

  • the other engine? you mean the vtec! LOL

  • This is the AP2 for a number of reasons:

    1. The gauge cluster is clearly AP2. It redlines at 8000rpm and the tachometer is not as long as it is in the AP1 (It doesn't make a complete arc across the cluster).

    2. There is obviously a clutch delay valve, an AP2 only feature. The dude is driving just fine, but that damned clutch delay valve makes the best clutch work sound like utter dogshit.

Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed it and I hope you are one day able to obtain an S2K! What a great ride!

  • What's a clutch delay valve? What does it do?

  • Look up "clutch delay valve S2000" and you'll find a more detailed answer. Basically, no matter how quickly you drop the clutch pedal, the CDV prevents the actual clutch from engaging "too quickly". It slowly eases it into the fully engaged position to reduce shock to the drivetrain, even if you do something drastic like sidestep the clutch.

This is because of a weak spot on AP1's (Rear differential mounts IIRC). Even though they addressed this, they still decided to put the CDV on the AP2.

  • @r0ckworthy The downside is that it makes you seem like a shitty driver who is slipping the clutch way too much when shifting gears. I think it probably also increases clutch wear. From my understanding it's not too difficult to disable/remove the Clutch Delay Valve though (I don't remember exactly what has to be done, but it's not that much) and it can be done without any negative consequences as long as you don't sidestep the clutch every time you leave a stoplight or something.

  • @r0ckworthy It doesn't let you release the clutch faster than it wants you to. It literally delays your clutch action. The reason it sounds like he is destroying the clutch in the begininning is not because he is an amateur, but because that CDV is slowing down the action of his clutch release and causing his clutch to slip. It's a stupid piece to stop apes from destroying bits and pieces when running from stoplight to stoplight. Pain in the ass when parking too.

  • @d350z92 no hes an amateur, I have a 2006 s2000 and mine NEVER sounds like that...... I have NEVER had a problem with shifting gears.

  • no you can hear the engine? nooo

  • yea its an ap2...look at the cluster

  • How do you know it's an AP2? You could be right, I never asked the guy what year it is. If you know what model it is just from what little you can see of the dashboard then you deserve props :)

  • as antijersey said the redline is different and the radio cover on the AP2 is silver whearas on the AP1 is black (unless he changed it) and also the buttons on the stearing wheel were not available on the ap1 ')

  • Nice! Very astute of you guys to point out these things. I'm impressed.

  • Own an AP1 ;) once I saw the dash I knew right away, on an ap1 the tach wraps all the way to the other side of the lcd, not only half way. Id fix 9000 in your discription :)

  • @r0ckworthy if its 04 or newer...ap2 .

  • @r0ckworthy

it's also got the leather wrapped shift knob which is an ap2 thing

  • Thats an AP2 s2000, redline is at 8k not 9k (or 8800 to be exact) like the AP1's.

  • @antijersey 8200...

  • I did word it kinda werid, ment 8800 for 9k... "9k (8800 to be exact)" Never see over 8800-8900 on a dyno graph.

  • @antijersey the ap1 revs to 9000 rpm you dont see it on a dyno graph beacuse it would mess up the reading or tune if you hit limiter.

  • that car is fucking sweeeeetttttttttt
