Even if you did forget where you were on the guitar, you should still know that B# DOES NOT EXIST. And also, you can play the whole intro over a span of 4 frets, so just learn to play it that way instead of skipping around on the A string at the last part and moving your hand around from root 1st fret to root 2nd fret. Also learn to play with all four fingers instead of trying to reach everything with your first 3 fingers. Just trying to give some criticism to help you improve :D

Just lay your picking hands palm down on the strings, the closer you get it to the bridge, the heavier the palm mute will sound. Play around with it, it will take a little practice but it's an easy technique when you get it down.
