  • He is a monster player!

  • Just love Jons playing one of the best.

  • he's spooky good.....

  • This is a great demo Jon. Thanks! Your Pod's lookin' pretty sad over there on the floor. lol Great playing, great music, great tone! peace!

  • Hey Jon

Since High School I've been a fan of the Steely Dan.

That must be a super rush gig. Just got the Irig, real amazing stuff.

You make me feel real good about that Irig too.

    Thanks

  • Thanks Jon. I'm watching every nuance of "Reelin" and "Black Cow." Saw you in Louisville!

  • love the sound of the Hamer pups....thats one of my fav guitars..

  • Jon, great to meet you at your greek show this summer. Im still amazed at how well you voice your solos. Best,

    chuck, Lonn...

  • Jon seems to have the best gig on earth playing with some special people. Keep on truckin John

  • i thought i could play the intro to reelin until i heard this!!

  • Jon, you were tops last night at Ravinia - Chicago. Great work, man.

  • Jon's a great guy as well as a great player- I asked him about a bunch of stuff

back a few years ago, and he never failed to answer an email, not once.

  • How can he have an Iphone 4 in july 2010?

  • @MrDyblie The iPhone 4 was release late June 2010

  • @MrDyblie Guess it´s just Norway that always get stuff late

  • @MrDyblie - its also called product placement.... Apple produce the products about 12 months prior to relaease and beta test them with the selected few... one guy got into hot water because he actually left an iPhone 4 in a bar (Doh!) 3 months before release and the person who foiund it posted it across the web.

Nice to see John smile cause on tour with the dan he looks so serious.... maybe nerves?

  • @Spartanm333 Actually, they don't release many early and the Black GSM iPhone 4 was released in the latter part of June 2010

  • He's so fuckin GREAT!!!!

  • It's cool that he's showing the way he plays the solo's now that he's touring with them instead of the originals - you can find those early solo transcriptions anywhere

  • One of the greatest surviving students of Harry Leahey (The Greatest but largely forgotten guitar teachers who lived)

  • Using this and it is really very novel. I have to figure out why it is distorting my clean and why some odd clicks and noises are happening. What a great video, thanks!

  • @wildernesstrance Thanks, best way to sort that out is to consult the iRig FAQ and contact support if those suggestions don't work.

  • Jon, i ever knew about your tecnical affinity, but i did`nt thaught, you go that far away ;)

  • His own style, with the solo form ''Peg'' (mixed with the genius solo from Jay Graydon!)

    a telephone pedalboardxD Amazing!

  • He looks like a cross between Eddie Van Halen and David Letterman, lol! GREAT player!!!

  • @frimpit Wow, good observation :) I wouldn't have agreed just some years ago, but he's got that look for sure. Great player too!

  • @frimpit really one of the nicest guys playing the major circuit today. Impeccable guitarist, understated yet dazzling.

  • amazing musician!!!!!

  • I used to hire Jon as a session guy when he lived in the Indianapolis area. He helped arrange one of only 2 gold records I've produced. Incredible creative talent.

Would have been nice to have his first name spelled correctly on the caption....

    Steve M.

  • its not just your AC noise, the irig has a bit without the filer on lol. You could actually hear it in your video. Great vid mate Jon's a great guiratist. I love my irig even more now

  • @nicos808 Noise is inherent with the audio input jack on the device, and we've minimized as much as possible - which is more difficult with the higher gain models, of course, just like on the real thing (and the other modeling thing we do too)...

  • @ikmultimedia I didnt realise that thanks. When your playing you dont notice it anyway, and the noise filter is good so it doesnt really matter. The filter does seem to take a tiny bit of tops away (maybe?) but I relaised that if I turned up the mids/tops a touch on the amp it tends to sound better than the original tone I had anyway. And pretty much silent. But thats 1 fx channel down. Then, again I'd rather have 3 good channels than 4-5 which push the iPhone too hard. If thats the reason

  • @nicos808 Right now, that's the reason for 3 - and we do support a wider range of hardware and we are not iOS4 only. However, we are always looking into ways to use the better hardware when present, yet still not leave the others without. It is just a technical challenge to juggle, but we're aware.

  • @ikmultimedia nice work IK, we appreciate it

  • awesome

  • These tones are actually pretty amazing. It helps that John Herrington is a very, very good player. Love hearing those those classic Dan parts solo'd :-)

  • if i ever get an ipod touch im gonna use that for sure haha

  • Yes, sorry about the A/C noise in the background! When I shot the video, it was 100 degrees outside in Manhattan...so I preferred the A/C noise over the camera and the artist melting...lol.

  • ProTools 8 running in the background. There's a whole lot of AC noise going on in there. Holy! Is that all getting picked up by the camera? Never the less, the tones are surprisingly good coming from an iPod. crazy!

  • Enjoyed this thanks for posting. Of course Steely Dan is great as well.
