Eh, I think it can't hurt to do background checks even if they didn't want to bar ppl from service, but just make sure anyone in contact with em understood any past convictions... at least on the grounds that it's only for serious violent/sexual offenses. Idk if it should be law or w/e, imo the site should just do it out of good faith. The issue is that online you only know what you're told, and there's no one around to be like "yo, you know that dude got arrested for sexual battery, right?".
