  • ha ha meet people in the bathroom? XD

  • Wow your guys dorms are amazing compared to UFs!! I live in a single now, but my friends called it "the box". I don't have a kitchen or a bathroom!!Amazing!!

  • Which housing is best for a freshman? Non-honours and w/o meal plan.Just reg.

  • @niekalee305

You probably won't get this in time, but I would definitely recommend Degraff or Wildwood Hall. Neither of the two require a meal plan and are very new dorms. Degraff was finished in 2007 and Wildwood is pretty new too.

    Sincerely, a current FSU student.

  • Can you explain meal plans in detail or send me a link?

  • Hi! This was very helpful. I'll be transferring as a Junior so I have a quick question for you. My favorites were Mccollum Hall one room, and Ragans Hall. Which one do you believe is the best?

  • @ellie22892 I think Ragans is better... its a little newer and is in a better location on campus

  • @HousingFSU which is why i refer everyone to that website... I just did this to provide a visual to people.

  • @HousingFSU Damn that was kinda rude "for correct information". She is giving us the scoop and I like it. As an FSU Alum I agree with her videos accuracy. Lighten up geez!

  • @kassieme lol ikr xD

  • @HousingFSU o_O stalker much

  • @HousingFSU You know, you're really giving FSU and University housing a bad reputation with this comment. Of course the video is a reflection of the student! THAT'S WHAT YOUTUBE IS FOR! In fact, her videos make me want to go to FSU even more. Maybe you should learn some respect for your students before they decide to go somewhere else they've been accepted at like Penn State.

  • What is the biggest/best single dorm room with its own bath?

  • @clar82994s I think there are a few dorms that have single rooms but usually they are restricted to either RAs or wheelchair students. IF you want a big room alone, your best bet is to live off-campus

  • where is this located

  • @massivedrawer13 FL State in Tallahassee!

  • I like mccolumm hall but I love the roommate experience

  • Which one is the most biggest for freshman. I have a big bedroom and I like things organized. No bugs !

  • You have to go to the bathroom on the FLOOR? OH NO!

  • What is the best option for freshman housing?

  • @greenlemon5 I'd say Wildwood, but it's farther from dining halls but the rooms are nice.

  • So what dorm hall is the funnest/has the most going on?

  • @usawrestler9 If you like going to clubs/bars, Degraff is walking distance to the Strip... so lots of people like to go there.

Then Wildwood is fairly new and near the gym, I really liked that one.

Community style are the most social because you have to walk down the hall to the bathroom so you meet more people.

  • i put in Wildwood, Degraff, Landis, Renolyds.

I'm doing Honors, but one of my friends said Landis wasn't actually the best dorm, sooo i only put it third.

Was that a good order to put them in? I am a girl, if that makes any difference (closet space<3).

  • @ryanna6212 They all have pretty small closets :( You pretty much have to get under the bed storage bins)... but Wildwood is a little bigger than Landis, but Landis is the best location I think. I didn't like Degraff because it was so far away, across the street, but a lot of people like it, especially if you like going out because its right by a strip of bars/clubs

  • are you a film major?

  • @TheCutelatina No... I'm studying communcations/media studies

  • is regeen ( sorry if i spelled wrong) the on eu live in , is it a 2 bedroom dorm goooooooooo seminoles!!!!!!

  • @piggypanda10 its a 4 bedroom unit

  • loved it, really looking forward to going there, if i cant make it into Uf :]. GPA requirement? :\

  • After the community style dorms, which one is the cheapest?

  • @Zisin2day umm.. the Suite-Style dorms.. .which would be like Jenny, Reynolds, Gilchrist, Bryan etc

  • @crazylady5

I was just reading the other comment so, even if you apply for a suite-style dorm it's not guaranteed?

  • @Zisin2day Yes, unfortunately.. it all depends on your housing number. The lower your number the better choice you get!

  • is there any dorms that the rooms are seperated ? like 2 rooms ?

  • @diamondbratz9 Ragans has individual rooms but that's only for Sophomores and above...

There are a few dorms that have single bedrooms. Most are the typical 2 beds per room sharing a bathroom or having a community bathroom on the same floor

  • Hi, I was wondering how dorm assignments were? Is it possible to pick your own roomates, or is it based on your major?

  • @cindylovesleto No it's not based on your major. What you'll do when you get accepted is apply to housing(the sooner the better) and you can choose to room with a friend, but whoever has the higher housing number is the one you will get... the higher the housing number, the worst dorm you get...not to say any of the dorms are terrible!

  • How hard is it to acquire a single person room like the one ft in mcCollum hall?

  • @cartman726 I'm not sure... it really depends on your housing number. For McCollum you have to be an upper classmen, and I think it would be easier to get a single in there instead of Ragans or a single in Gilchrist or Landis or one of those.

  • Also are there a decent amount of out of state kids who go here

  • @CudiCudi49 and as for out of state, I havent really met too many but I know there are a few hundred. If you like it, apply!

  • Is there a beach near the campus?

  • @CudiCudi49 the closest one is St. George Island which is like an hour-ish away, then theres Panama City which is 2 and a half.

Also its not really a beach but theres the Rez which is a lake, so you can lay out and they have kayaking, etc.

And then Wakulla Springs is a spring where they have a huge platform you can jump off and then different areas to lay by the water...

    hope that helps!

  • I want to transfer here for my Junior year from Broward College (although I am taking my classes in Peru, and I am from Peru). Are there any chances I may get housing applying as a transfer student from another country but with an A.A degree ?

  • @Reckless0691 I know transfers get the lowest housing numbers, however my friend transferred in January and was in Ragans, which is the nice apartments. I suggest you apply to on-campus housing, and if you don't like where you end up you can apply for reassignment, and usually halfway through the year with people moving out you can get a better dorm.

But also check the housing website for more info!

  • what have you heard about deviney and kellum?? ive heard kellum looks like a prison on the inside...is that true?

  • @powerfulpowerzz deviney looks just like Dorman... its featured in the first video. Its not as bad as people say. Kellum looks similar to Smith, so its small but if you decorate it you can make it feel more homey. People in community style dorms tend to meet more people in the dorm since they don't like being their rooms.

  • @crazylady5 lol makes sense

  • great fsu vids! it rly helped me get a feel for what the school is like!! thanks

  • Can you do a room service order type of thing ? sometimes Im lazy and I dont like to do anything .

  • @willieXDrocks haha... unfortunately no... but there are some delivery services up in Tally that you can get the numbers to that deliver right to the dorm: Jimmie Johns, Sumo Sabi, Pizza

  • Very Good Review. I have a quick question for you. I will be in Smith next year as a freshman. Is it really as awful as people say it is? Thanks!

  • @knicks5171 Sorry for the late response!

well as you saw in the video, I actually didn't think it was AS terrible as i had heard... I think its a great way to meet lots of people, because you are more willing to be out of your room , whereas in a suite style its hard to meet other people on your floor.

  • Thanks for doing these videos!

  • Awesome video! I have a question about Rogers Hall. I have heard that it is quite bad and basically unlivable, is this still the case? I'm looking for someone to stay when I come from Australia on exchange. Thanks!

  • @largecouches actually Rogers is the only dorm that I have never seen or heard anyone talk about... its in a weird location though, sorta out of the way from everything. But I say try looking into some of the other dorms... either suite style or if you are coming as an upperclassmen you can check out Ragans or McCollum which is really nice.... hope that helped?
