  • he's extremely fast, but you're right. techniques are not perfect. it's pretty good, but it's holywood karate!

  • to fast to wrong

  • This athlete is doubtless a phenomenon... he can develop incredible amounts of kinetic energy and speed, not to mention his accurate technique. In my opinion, all negative comments about his performances don't make justice to his constancy in training.

  • Per me Luca Valdesi è eccezionale:quanto vorrei avere anche solo un centesimo del suo talento!

  • if you think that Valdesi isn't one of the best in the world....change sports.

  • w'aw

  • @Aveiro29 the people loves him becasuse of his charisma, but the judges loves him becasuse of his fightings techniques, not for clear techniques, not because for his high jump or something similar!

  • whoa nelly why so fast and the long pauses? plus he is not showing the movement trying to rely on too much speed and power not a good empi

  • Is that dance or karate?

  • @alexkonnerud idiot

  • too fast , hikite at the wrong place , and incomplete technics

  • Comment removed

  • The yellow belts in my dojo have better tsuki and uke waza than him.

He has no kime. WORLD CHAMPION? more like flash champion.

  • @shotokankjs i see, you are the 10th dan grandmaster of karate, right?

  • @shotokankjs FIrst of all; notice that this competition karate. NOT traditional. I have trained with him, and he is completely out of this world. It's ok if you don't like his style, but please; be more polite and constructive.

Anyhow, why don't you post a video of yourself and your yellowbelts? Then we'll see. Big mouth, let's see how you do it.

  • @Aveiro29 Your arrogance shows.

There are videos of me and my students on youtube. If you even bothered to check my account before running your mouth.

You are like many others who are brainwashed into believing this kind of training is useful.

    MATERIALISIM IS KILLING KARATE!

  • @Aveiro29 The moron stams the ground and doesnt pull his hand back.

I dont need to be a grandmaster to know what hikite is and kime is.

He clearly lacks both. Its not a question about sports karate or traditional. Sensei Kagawa's students show hikite and kime in their performances and have won championships. I myself have taken part in wkf system as a judge , teacher and competitor. It is clear bullshit. Not karate!

  • @Aveiro29 Also dont expect me to be polite at all about this. The whole mcdojo scene has me pretty pissed.

When you start to treat karate seriously we can talk.

  • @shotokankjs When I start to treat karate seriously? If you knew who I am, you would never say such a thing. Trust me. But this isn't a place for childish bragging anyway.

I saw your katas on your channel. You are not bad, but you still have a long way to go. You have no hip movements compared to Valdesi. And if you really am an international judge, I feel sorry for you. I mean, there must be a reason why people love him and why he is winning almost every contest.

  • gostei muito desse kata empi parabens

  • He's really good but he has much to work at that jump,...but i really want to be like him when i'll be black belt !!

  • @xxXSakuraxxHoshiXxx Trust me u don't wanna be like him... he has too many mistakes... i do too but Luca Valdesi looks for any excuse to look for speed... he even modifies his embusen to end at the same place...

  • @xxXSakuraxxHoshiXxx

    GOOD? are you kidding?

DONT KNOW HOW THEY GET A GUY LIKE THIS TO BE WORLD CHAMPION.

NO HIKITE, His Dachi waza is too weak, His uke waza is not supported by his center.

INCOMPLETE TECHNIQUES. THIS IS MCDOJO KARATE. AKA BULLSHIT KARATE.

  • @shotokankjs fuck you!

  • can u shut up he's better then u so u shouldn't even talk and just cos he's the world champion don't mean he has to be perfect nobody's perfect.

  • jeniooooooooooooo

  • just pretty ... thats it : no power no kime, his just dancing

  • He looks like a spastic squirrel.

His jump is hella good though. I can't believe how good his landing stance is!

  • The best thing about Luca's kata is his speed and I reckon that's quite important in Empi. Excellent jump too. He's a brilliant karateka so far as sport karate and tournaments go, but I'm not too sure about his actual fighting skills and frankly, who cares?! Good one Jesse :) (This is warrioress from the blog)

  • num ta bom não

  • woooooooohhh (pura energia)

  • theres too many people have too much to say about other peoples karate if you think your better post your vids this is better than some of the stuff on here you should repect all martials arts and martial art practioners it really does 'nt matter were it comes from if it help in a fight then you learn how to use it

  • I will be doing this at my tournament tomorrow if i pass the first round ."/

  • budokighigai for ... shut up! kata at competitive level has undergone a transformation, in case you had not you noticed! The kata has become, as you say, much more spectacular than effective in the attacks instead interprets. But beauty, in uttto, is to change, evolution, and improvement! . excuse my English but not speak it properly!

  • Take a look at JKA or ITKF kata, these Karate-ka have been hitting things and their movements have power. Unfortunately if you put a 1in pine board in front of Mr. Valdesi he probably would need two to three tries for it to break... He has good Kihon (basic) but he is far from the "fighter outlook" that a majority of JKA and ITKF practitioners have...

  • @shotokanshdn If you dont like WTF, stay in your JKA and leave them alone. They're not going to your JKA videos to say shit about it.

  • @Rnt911 Im not talking "shit" about anything, just saying that the two are COMPLETELY different, like I said he has good basic, and he is fast. So I can tell his training is good, but he is in olympic style karate, which doesnt seem practical in a real situation. Look at it this way, (gonna steal bruce lee's words) if you look at traditional JKA karate kata, it looks like a stream of water, its constantly moving and it may slow down, but it never stops. As to where WKF karate is like water

  • @Rnt911 hitting a dam, then starting to flow again, then hitting another dam. Its too mechanical and looks like a robot fighting... THEN look at the WKF sparring, (I have competed in both Ippon shobu and WKF) its a game of TAG, they touch one another and then scream and look at the ref. When I competed in an international tournament, ipponshobu kumite, against a karate ka who always competed WKF and it was his first ippon shobu kumite event, he tried to hit me with a Gyaku-zuki

  • @shotokanshdn lol yeah he tryed to blast you with a reverse punch dang he was on it.

  • @Rnt911 did his little celebration and I hit him SQUARE in the nose. Its WKF sparring especially that makes MMA people think that instead of Karate-do its "kara-tay" and laugh at practioncers of it.

So once again I am not saying Mr. Valdesi is bad, because he is quite good! And I am not talking shit, I am just stating a fact that WKF practitioners are making karate, what Funakoshi sensei feared it to be.... A competitive "sport" not a "Budo" that it was intended to be

  • @shotokanshdn yo brah don't bother trying to speak reason to these people they won't take it they don't want to be wrong i just experenced that on another video but yeah don't trip just do what you do.

  • Like I have stated on other videos, his technique is good, yes. But I can gurantee that he has not hit a makiwara board more than 500 times.... ALL of his kata look robotic and every movement looks like it has to be thought of before he moves. It is important, especially in competition, that you look like you are fighting someone... NONE of the WKF practitioners either Kumite or Kata look like they are fighting. Their kumite is a game of tag, and their kata is robotic..

  • @budokichigai - WKF is the largest shotokan organization in the World. Luca Valdesi is four time world champion in individual kata. He is not so young after all, he is 36. Even though we can argue about incomplete moves, he is still the best. He is not rapid, but brisk, dynamic, fluid and focused. If you imply that this is not proper, you have to post video of someone from any school to show more proper or better performed kata. Oss

  • Rapid movements do not make a kata. He stops short in his kosa-dachi and his jodan punch/grasps are incomplete. Yes, I said it. Believe me, I am being objective, as he has never done anything to hurt me. I don't know this young man, but I would love to meet him someday. He has talent and he's obviously good at what he does, but does that means he is good? I notice that people are too quick to heap accolades on someone just because he or she performs a kata aesthetically, instead of properly.

  • He has some technical details I'm not a fan of; HOWEVER, very strong, amazing kime, and amazing grace with the slower moves, which is rare. Obviously an amazing athlete

  • Luca is just fabulous

  • Wow! This is a great kata. Does anyone have the video of his UNSU in Belgrade? It was the best Kata I've ever seen - and I'm not the type of person to get excited by a kata.

  • THis is a good break from the usual lack-lustre movements previously seen in some wkf vids. As expected of a world champ.

  • thanks god jesse was there

  • que firmeza do karalho...

  • wow luca is a gun

  • amazing!
