I agree, my mum has a staff and so do i and they are the best dogs in the world, we've both had them from pups and they both are so loving, my dog Coco always gives me kisses, i was upset in the car once and i was sobbing my heart out and she leaned over and dried (well licked away) all my tears and it made me laugh in the end. I love her to bits, even tho she is a pain sometimes x

Staffords certainly are not a dangerous breed, the only time there is ever an issue is if another dog challenges one as a staff will never back down from a scrap. Sensible ownership and good lead control keeps them safe. They certainly are the best dog in the world and great with kids, that's why they are known as the "nanny dog"!!

Every dog has a different personality just like every human. Often it's what's on the other end of the lead that is the problem! But there is somthing that people don't realise. Staffs, bull dogs etc have two things in common. An incredibly strong jaw and a very large bite radius. So a bite from this type of dog does more damage. That's why they get such bad press.

It's such a shame. We are reponsible for our dogs it's our job to protect them and keep them safe. Staffs are such wonderfull dogs.

Just a thought, if your staff is fully part of your family and knows it. He will never hert your kids or allow them to be harmed buy any one. Staffs will tell you if there hurt, you just have to watch them just like a new baby really. An Experianced owner........46years

The two dogs are different in the fact The Stoffordshire bull was bread with a terrier to achieve the longer legs as well as passing on the tenacious characteristics common to all terriers. Terriers are natural hunters and small game was what they hunted. Watch an Amstaff, APBT, staffie and bull terrier to see the differences. The little staffie is not as game as the other 3 because there is no terrier in its bloodline. They all share a bulldog heritage which makes them cool.

Actually, NO! Humans go mental, dogs react to their environment. To assume what you state is to assume they are ready to attack and maul at any given moment. These dogs have a "Hey, how are ya doin'?" attitude and will lick the taste off your face. Biting is the last thing on their mind. Do you own one?

Yes, maybe staffies looks dangerous, but they're very sweeties with people. Elvis (my dog) is very nice and easy going with everybody, but he does not like other dogs, specially if they are not female or barks in his face.

Staffys are the best dogs in the world.. they are brilliant with children and they will not harm you unless u bring them up to be harmful. They are just like children... I love mine and wouldnt trade him for the world... hes 10months old, and i have a 18month old neice who plays with him all day... she pulls his ears, pokes him in the eyes.. sits on him.. and he doesnt bat an eyelid...

you will get an extreme love/friendship from terriers that most other breeds will neglect to show though in my experience.

terrier group of dog has genetic disposition to be more energetic/wild if you bring up the dog bad he will become angry/vengefull, if you bring up a chiuhauwa badly they will just get depressed/withdrawn.its easier to create a bad tempered terrier then it is a bad tempered golden retreiver, or any other naturally mannered dog. terrier owners treat them well from day 1 and show correct discipline.

Yes, they're the first dog in the chain of Bull'n'terrier dogs, one of the first fighting dog. I had a Pit Bull and now I have Staffordshire Bull Terrier, and both breeds are amazing if you love them.
